Topic: Alt Pairings: Let the Interesting times commence!

If theres one thing I hate about surfing the fics on FF.Net it's the horrid Tsunami of typical pairing fics. CloudXSeph, CloudXTifa, AerisXCloudXZackXSeph, Rude X Reno..etc

Dude, these are fun, but seriously lets explore the relationships between some more characters and maybe, just maybe less of the Cloud and Seph. Don't get me wrong, I like reading them every once and awhile, but COME ON! Thats try something different, something new and something that will get a people a thinking.

Come on, throw up some ideas and have a laugh.

It's always good to have variety! :D Personally I would like more Cid/Vincent, Cid/Yuffie fics. I have a Cid/Yuffie fic to read if your interested, Chemically Attracted.

Ok, I know, I have VERY weird taste in pairings....but I guess that's what makes it rare and stuff...Anyways...I find Yuffie xReno VERY intereting and I love this pairing the most. Rufus x Yuffie also works sometimes too. Yuffie x Kadaj would have to be one of the wireder ones to likem, but for some reason I like them...Yeah, Yuffie with any of those three or Cloud/Vincent would work....I'm weird like that ok? lol

Hehe, yeah I'm lovin' the Reno and Yuffie, there was a really good one I found around here, but I think it got moved or something. Dontcha hate that? Finding stuf on here that you like and then when you come back to find it again it's gone? Bloody evil that is. Cloud and Vincent can be good.

Personally I'm a big fan of Elena and Reno, not uncommon but rare because of how many RenoXRude fics there are and Tifa and Sephiroth. I have an idea for a Tifa and Seph fic, but it needs to mature more in brain more before I can get round to typing.

How about a real odd pairing Barret and Shera :) Now wouldn't that be cool?

Thanks! Barret/Shera... OO! I can already imagine a plot on that one!!! Hmm... I might throw that in my next ff, use them as a side couple to cid/yuffie..

Needless to say, there would be some serious ** kicking in that one most likely!

Gotta love the Marlene/Any of the SHM(Silver haired men). I enjoy this pairing and it makes sense. Marlene taken hostage in AC=some type of bond with her captors. Yeah, I'm a fan. Go check out the story 'Memories' by Vampire Toy plus the sequel, 'Never Forget'. I also love yuffentine beyond reason. It's just so sweet! Gotta love it.

Well, my biases are obvious - Cloud/Yuffie, Barret/Tifa, Rude/Elena, Aeris/Tseng... or Aeris/Reeve and Rude/Tifa, or Yuffie/Tifa... I have a billion of 'em.

And you know what might turn into a very interesting idea? Reeve/Elmyra. (Although I can't remember for sure if it was actually Reeve who was keeping them captive, or one of his cronies... either way, I'm sure they had to have some sort of contact. And it would be a very messed-up relationship, although it would have to be done VERY carefully.)

I think Vincent pairs nicely with Tifa or Cloud, and Cloud with Tifa.

I feel sorry for Cid and Shera though because they're are married couple and are never paired!

I've seen a fic where Shera is paired with Vincent, because Shera looks like Lucrecia. And Cid is paired with Yuffie the most other than Shera. (Unless you count Valenwind.)

Reeve/Yuffie...it'd be interesting, what with them being so prankster-y. (Reeve did create Cait Sith, you know.)

Oh, and about Tifa/Sora, they're bother in Kingdom Hearts 2 so...yes.

Here's a weird pairing, and even strange that none of us thought about it before... Barret X Yuffie. Haha.. if I were any good at writing funny fics I would most certainly write one about these two...

OOoo, an idea for a reeve/scarlet, later reeve/yuffie fic... Reeve and Scarlet spend the night together and two years later, midst a relationship with Yuffie, scarlet drops off their two year old daughter with him. Well, not the best plot, but I am tired. lol

Ooo... Or perhaps, Scarlet is in Wutai with the two year old and runs into Yuffie, they get into an argument and scarlet leaves her child there which Yuffie takes in while trying to find her... Going to Reeve for help after several months of Avalanche and her trying to find Scarlet... etc... O.o

Ooo! Hmm, Vincent/Shera would be interesting... :) I like those couplings you listed, hehe. Valenwind is a favorite of mine as well. I like Kadaj/Yuffie also.

Hojo/Jenova...well it COULD happen....

Elena/Reno's EMR...Heh heh. I wrote one of these for an OOC and weird pairing contest. It was very amusing to write.

Elena/Joker located outside of Corel...again, I wrote one, very amusing, but I think it came out horrible.'

Shera/Reno...there's one of these...very well written.

Red Materia/Green Materia...you don't even want to know...

Yazoo/Yuffie...I looked for one of these. Didn't find any. Still it'd be interesting.

Yuffie/A can of Pepsi....Whoever wrote this was very disturbed.

Sephiroth/Cactuar...this pairing has a fic, and it made me laugh my butt off.

Tseng/Coffee Maker....again, there's fic for this...REALLY humorous.

Hey, let's see who can come up with the weirdest pairing! This is fun!

Hojo and Jenova could be both funny and interesting to read. I imagine those who took "Jenova is Sephiroth's mother" theme a bit too literal.

Although I'm not into yaoi, Vincent's personality (don't take me wrong, he's my fav character) is suitable for extensive ** pairings, and the idea of him and Tseng is great.

I was wondering what you guys meant with Marlene before. Now that you mention an older marlene (at least 16 years old) it makes a lot more sense.

Ooo... a plot for a fic... Yuffie finds out Hojo is her Uncle on her 'mothers' side when Godo gives her an ultimatum (without knowing at the time that Hojo is her uncle) to 'shape up' to become the ruler of Wutai or leave and stay with her uncle until ready to do so...

Could be a Yuffie/Hojo or even a lead to a Yuffie/Vincent (or Yuffie/anyone O.o)

Then comes Yuffie's crisis. Her Uncle/lover (as if it weren't enough with that) is gay and a zoophile. Her ex turns out to be gay as well, as he hooked up with her father. So she goes ahead and tries to hook up with Dio.. who looks pretty damn masculine... guess what... GAYEST OF ALL!

I was giving serious thought to my fave rare pairings when I read about Hojo/Jenova, and my mind went blank. Well, all except for the crazy ** ideas hurtling through my tiny brain!

It's begging to be written!!

Oke doke, rare pairings. I like Tseng/Elena, but she always seems to be paired with either Rude, Reno, and in a few cases, Rufus.

Another odd and hardly ever seen pairing I have a soft spot for is Scarlet and Hojo. Put those two totally despicable characters together and you're bound to have flying sparks, one hell of a plot, and lotsa action as our heroes set out to stop them.

My other pairings are pretty ususal, as in Vin/Tif, Sephiroth/Tif, but I will admit to having a shiny, smutty Vin/Tif/Sephiroth 3-some on my laptop at home!!!

Now the rest...

Reno/Tifa ~ He's just a big damn flirt who's too cute for his own good.

Rude/Yuffie ~ He'd kiss her just to shut her up!

Cloud/Elena ~ Just think they'd be kinda cute together.

Kadaj/Tifa ~ Don't ask me why, cus I honestly don't know.

Vincent/Elena ~ They'd make a pretty good Turk tag team.

Sephiroth/Tifa ~ This is a beefy plot just waiting to be written.

Sephiroth and Tifa would be awesome.

Yuffie/Lifestream - tentacle-ish action, anyone?

Shiva/Knights of the Round - Somewhat mythic...and of course gang bang.

Esther/Johnny (Dude who liked Tifa) - I insist on her.

Vincent/Entrance Girl from Gold Saucer - Vampy-boy becomes a real player.

You know, the idea of Hojo/Scarlet is actually kinda...appealing. XD

Anyways, I got more!

Sephiroth/Jessie...I actually love this coupling, I forgot to mention that. Read Midori Tsuki's fic 'The Secretary' and you'll see exactly how it could work. There are others to.

Heh, the pyromaniac and the general. Pregame of course.

I'm actually working on a fan-fanfiction for the secretary where they meet in the lifestream...

Vincent/Luccia(Chick from Chrono Cross, if you've played it.) This girl could be the reincarnation of Lucrecia, if not for her accent....I'm working on one of these too...Gag humor though...

Esther/Joe maybe?

My 25 year old brother came up wiht this one, and cracked up at it too.

Since I posted my thoughts regarding Hojo/Scarlet, I've had a one track Goddamn mind! I'm supposed to be finishing Wild Night and all I can think of is plotting the conception of, and I quote, Sephiroth's Crazy ** Half Brother!

I just started FF VII for the 13th time the other day and I got a new, very rare pairing to share with y'all. Cloud and Jessie. She had a pretty damn cute crush on him in the beginning.

I wonder how that could have worked out...

Cloud and Jesse sounds pretty neat.

Too bad I can't still find that fic called "Chaotic". It had some of the craziest crossings ever, even though I cannot even remember one.

You'll be rethinking that craziest crossings soon, believe me!

I got into a debate of impossible crossovers and got challenged to write two in particular. One is a FF VII/Angel crossover, the other is a FF VII/Smallville crossover! I'm not allowed to have the typical pairings or pairings I'd normally use.

In the Angel one, I'm pairing Cordy up with Sephiroth, in Smallville I'm pairing up Tifa and Rufus! It's honestly a big ball of lunacy!
