I love that framegrab!! It's squeeable!

Carlos looks like he's having a *squee!* moment too in the aftermath shot. Hehe.. Wonder what he's thinking...

And I wasn't really serious about E/W, but I did like the randomness of it. And it is random. And while watching the construction episode with William in it, I did notice the slight shipping betwixt Liz/Wanda's dog, which is going waaay into the crack pairings.. I'll stop now.. :p

And another C/DA framegrab I feel should be shared with the world 'cause i think it's cute:

Okay, question: Has anyone here noticed how many guys Ms. Frizzle seems to flirt with? The classic example (and probably the cutest) is with Mr. Seedplot, but there's also that mechanic guy, that electrician guy, that junkyard guy... I think I've even caught a couple moments with Mr. Rule. Any others I might have missed? And watch, because it's pronounced "Miz" Frizzle instead of "Miss" Frizzle, I bet she's got some husband separated in Mongolia or something she doesn't bring up often. Or maybe the guys just can't stand her for too long, and rather than being single-with-a-cat, she went for single-with-a-lizard. Hey, I think she's even caught the producer's interest: In Inside Ralphie during the part where people call in and complain about how inaccurate the show is, we hear the producer state: "Besides, Ms. Frizzle is magic." Granted she is, but he seemed to say it a little too affectionately, if you ask me.

I always assume she was Ms. Frizzle because she's in her 30's and "Miss" seems for younger women, but that is a vair interesting theory. Long-lost-Mr.-Frizzle fic, anyone?

Yeah, I always noticed she was a female playa. I would do more Frizzle-romance fics, but I find the woman so freakin' hard to write. D:

I think of the Friz as being like Queen Elizabeth I of England - she knows what she wants and flirts with whomever it is she needs to in order to get it. Any good artist willing to draw the Friz as Queen Elizabeth? ;)

apikale-wahine
Nope, sorry, I can't draw... but the more I think about the more I realize you're right. She even kind of looks like the Virgin Queen. Of course, many historians (including my own history teacher) are inclined to debate the accuracy of the title-- but it is known Elizabeth 1 never married or had children.

Unless it was a very well-concealed scandel. Here's a fic someone out there should write: Ms. Frizzle discovers (or maybe she knew all along!) that she is actually descended from Queen Elizabeth's hidden child. Hmm....

She's Elizabeth I reincarnated, obviously ;)

Awesome idea - I'm starting to think more about Ms. Frizzle's past and the wheels are turning, but no guarantees. :)

Having just seen "Get's Planted" I remembered someone asked a long time ago what D.A was, because she was dressed in some sort of princess costume. I decided that she appears to have suddenly gained about twenty pounds, she must be playing the giant's wife. And Carlos is the playing the giant (as evidenced by his "Fee Fi Fo Fum" at the beginning of the episode. So....I thought it was cute, that they were playing a married couple. Fic ideas, anyone?:P

So....I thought it was cute, that they were playing a married couple.

The Frizz TOTALLY set it up that way!!

Duh, even she knew there was something between the two. I mean, they were pretty obvious in the volcano one.. "Unlike the earth, some things never change" - they were totally always seen bickering and we all know what that means at that age ;) Ms.Frizzle would at least.. ah if only there was time in their school's curriculum for horomones...

Fic ideas, anyone?:P

Hehe.. a few actually... It'd be interesting to see what their reactions would be when they found out they'd be playing each other's spouse.. hehe...

And since you put me in this C/DA shipper mood, i'll post one of my favorite C/DA framegrabs:

Just to play devil's advocate... :)

I don't know that the Friz set up any couples. At 9, that's still creepy.

I thought Phoebe was about to kiss Arnold in "The Busasaurus," and it could be argued that they were chosen to be "left behind" by the Powers Behind the Episode for cosmic love reasons as well.

I thought childish bickering was just bickering, but making fun of each other (which we don't see, as these kids are exemplary) was how boys tend to express interest... until forever.

For boys, yes, but when girls bickered back (at least in my experience), we really meant it...no hidden meanings.

ah if only there was time in their school's curriculum for horomones...

I pray they waited until fifth grade, haha. At least, that's when we got the hormones talk (girls in one room, boys in the other).

making fun of each other (which we don't see, as these kids are exemplary)

There was an interview with Joanna Cole (the original author), and she said the only stipulation she had with the show was that they didn't make fun of each other. A real shame...we could have had more Phoebe-the-punching-bag moments. :(

I think it depends on the person...I teased/bickered with my third grade crush, if only because I was terribly afraid he would find out I liked him. So you know. I think for some people fighting means nothing and for some it does. It all depends on the personality. And the Friz is pretty smart, and I don't think she could be around those kids all the time and not see that Arnold at least liked Wanda a little bit, for example. Or that Carlos and D.A tend to fight (again, the whole "some things never change etc etc etc")

Ahhh...the hormones talk. How well I remember the hormones talk...

Killjoy...

But seriously, I'm like Everafter, when i was younger (actually, i'm still sometimes kind of guilty of doing it now) I bickered/teased the boys I crushed on... It was more, 'I don't want them to find out they like me so i'll argue back' or something...

Anyways, Carlos was making fun of DA with her whole 'bookworm' thing. "What would YOU call it? According to my Research Island?!" And Keesha made fun of Ralphie in 'Flexes it's muscles'. There aren't many moments, but they're there.

Oh she totally noticed, she seemed pretty amused with the whole thing with Liz Island.

I think when I first watched most of the episodes again, my impression was that Carlos had a little childhood crush on DA(he could have at that age, no one can deny Arnold didn't with Wanda) and subconsciously fought most with her because of it, as well as because of his opinionated personality. I especially thought that after watching the spider episode. And seeing the reaction shot to the hug:

Oh, the Friz DEFINITELY knew, but would she facilitate relationships? Probably not.

The teasing I can see as flirty, but that doesn't mean it was when they were 9. To each her own, I guess.

So I'm pretty sure I haven't mentioned this because I recently came to this realization, but when posting some caps to the MSBshipping Photobucket, I upoloaded a cap that I realized was now my absolute favorite A/P moment. It's oh-so-subtle, which is what I think I love about it. Here's the moment:

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff98/MSBshipping/shipping/ArnoldPhoebe/msb_hs01.png

In "Holiday Special" when Arnold comes in the classroom, Phoebe says "You made it just in time, Arnold! We're almost finished!", the two smiling at one another. As she turns and walks off, Arnold turns to Liz, still smiling, and she gives him an almost knowing smile. I don't know why but that one little, insignificant moment has become my favorite A/P moment thus far.

Oh how much I love those little insignificant OTP moments...

Two of my favorite are:

http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l46/Eggyolks99/admiration.jpg

In "Get's Eaten". It's so random, they just look at each other and smile, then turn away, and then Carlos answers a question. :D

and...

http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l46/Eggyolks99/younglove2.jpg

Omg, how much do I LOVE this one?!! It only lasted for about two seconds, but just look at the two of them! Make them a few years older and they would be SO FLIRTING. I just love the expression on DA's face when Carlos is talking. Impressed, amused, and her stance is like, "Oh please..." but she can't help enjoy it ;) A gem of an insignificant moment, imo.

aww, so cute! new pictures!! I'm so excited!! :D

my favorite moments are probably determined by what episode I watched latest. for example, there's a scene where Ralphie and Keesha are off by themselves for no explainable reason in the swamp episode, hehe, but we haven't posted those caps yet. but here's another episode my sis and I watch recently:

Two more insignificant moments:

http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l46/Eggyolks99/framegrabs/herprotector.jpg

I love this little grab from the rot episode because it looks like he's protecting her.. haha, awww. The rot episode also has the little shot where he grabs her shoulder, and when the kids are deciding what to do with the section of land with the rotton log, they actually agree on an idea together! ;) *love*

http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l46/Eggyolks99/framegrabs/protect.jpg

And another one that has DA hiding behind her protecter Carlos.. this time from the ant episode.

So I decided to do "Top Two OTP Five Favorite Moments" because I love tooling around on Photoshop. Some stuff's the same, some isn't. I also decided to leave HP out because A) my books are all the way in Houston and B) some moments I love are not in the movies, so I kept with my other two favorite ships (plus, I figure Bobby and Pam look like a 70's/80's versions of Harry and Hermione). So, enjoy.

So it's like five-til-seven, and I have no idea why I'm up, but I just remembered a random OTP-innuendo moment:

In "Goes to Seed" after Phoebe jumps down the pollen tube after Arnold so Mr. Seedplot doesn't see her, Arnold asks her where they are. Phoebe then says, after looking at the picture of the plant, "We're totally inside my flower!"

Sorry, I had to. I'm done now. :D

Dirty, dirty mind. XD I have to wonder how many teachers showing that episode to their first graders caught that.

So whilst watching "Wet All Over" twice in one morning (thanks to Discovery Kids and TLC HD showing the same episode), I noticed a tiny, microscopic A/P moment.

In the spirit of Phoebe screaming out "ARNOLD!", she does it in this episode when Arnold turns into a raindrop and is the first to fall. So that makes "Goes to Seed", "The Busasaurus", "Wet All Over", and "Goes Cellular" (well, she yells out "ARNOLD, NO!" in that one) episodes were Phoebe screams out Arnold's name. I'm now intrigued to find more (and it's summer, so it's not like I'm doing anything important, lol).

But yeah, like I said...microscopic. :D

Oh, and maybe I'm wrong, but I find it kind of amusing that Tiffany sounds a wee like Maia Filar (who voices Phoebe).

Anyone notice that in "Gains Weight" Keesha's like "let's do it arnold !" or something like that 'cause I was cracking up the whole time ! Plus if my mom heard that when I was watching "That 70's Show" she'd tell me to stop watching "That 70's show"!

But when a 11-year old (thats how old i am) likes "That 70's Show" and "Magic School Bus" thats whats gotta happen XD !!! Im just glad that the episode was not A/K if it was then that would give me the nightmare known as the chicken episode.

I noticed a few shippy tidbits in the Valentine episode towards VF/AS the last time it was on. During the scene where Wanda gets zapped at the candy dish from static electricity while the Friz is talking to them, there's a pic on the wall that looks suspiciously a lot like Mr. Seedplot. Then again, she also has pictures of RU, Murph, a woman in a cowboy hat, and a woman with a bun hairstyle, so it could just be a friendship thing but...

During Wanda's explanation of what will happen if the doorbell isn't fixed and the Friz's Valentine shows up, the shadowed man in Wanda's mental picture resembles Mr. Seedplot in the hairstyle. LOL, Wanda is a Frizzle/Seedplot fan!

And in the Molly Cule episode, the Friz winks at Molly; it was really early in the episode and I think Wanda was trying to convince the star to let the class wash the car.

I may be looking into this to deep, but in the plant episode with the play, notice that Carlos is dressed as a King and DA as a queen...hmm. But then again idk jack and the bean stalk ha ha. But it would be awesome and i was right that they were a couple in the play XD
