P. S. GiovanniTopic: Favorite Characters from Star Wars Who's your favorite characters? Why do you like them?My favorite characters are Luke, Obi-Wan, and Darth Vader. I like Luke for who he is. He is a kind, calm, and brave character that I think we all are like sometimes. I like Obi-Wan for his leadership. He was never afraid to speak up but sometimes got carried away. I like Darth Vader because he is so awesome. I mean, really. Who doesn't love Darth Vader? Yes, I know, he has a bad temper and is a Dark sider. So what? He's just awesome. |
Ahmed HasanI gotta say Darth Maul is the best ever. He's so cool! Especially with that double saber of his. |
ChefYotsubaMy favorites are Thrawn and Xixor.Thrawn because he is an excellent strategist and because i am a imerial fan Xixor because of Guri and becase of the Virago. |
YourMaskHidesNothingI really like Thrawn too. I don't know what, but something about him I just really love. |
PPEmy favorite character is Darth Vader. it's the suit and the attitude that everyone likes, not to mention his skills in the force and usage of a lightsaber. |
x Rajah xMy favorite is definetely and without doubt, Anakin.I also like Vader, basically because he is Anakin. There are so many reasons why I like him the best, I couldn't name them all while we're still young. |

vegemiteMy faves are Han Solo, Boba Fett, and Obi-Wan Kenobi.Han Solo - he's cocky and arrogant at times, but he usually knows what he's doing. He also manages to make it with a bunch of Force-sensitives when all he's got is a fast ship and a blaster. Plus Han/Leia are my favorite couple ever. Boba Fett - Best bounty hunter in the galaxy! I like him better when I don't think about the whole stupid Jango thing. Sorry, but I personally didn't want to know where Boba Fett came from, or that he was a CLONE and not just this randomly awesome dude. But that's just my opinion. Obi-Wan Kenobi - Of course, because Alec Guiness is aMAZing! But also because Ewan McGregor is amazing. Obi-Wan is just so calm and collected, but you can tell he's realyl kindof torn apart underneath from everything that's happened to him. And the fact that I am a major Obidala shipper. | #15 Apr 23rd 2006, 2:03pm

Psi FiVader's voice. I *love* his voice. I could be happy listening to James Earl Jones read out of a telephone directory. He helped make Vader *completely* awesome...and sexy! Bad guy or not, the guy was soooooo attractive!| #16 Jun 08th 2006, 9:50am

Marriella BulletI love Luke the best because he's just so innocent, nieve, kind, and it doesn't hurt that he's handsome! And then, I like Obi-Wan because he's cool, funny, wise. Who can't be crazy about a guy like that? | #19 Aug 24th 2006, 5:50pm

Psi Fi::nods:: Oh, yes. Luke is a wonderful character, especially in RotJ. Completely awesome. Obi-wan? Yeah, he is. I like him a lot, though not as much as the Skywalker men. He has that awesome British stiff upper lip! *SO* unflappable.| #20 Aug 24th 2006, 6:55pm

Jimmy the SniperBoba Fett. Hands down, number one, beyond a doubt. He's the only person (other than Palpatine) who could ever command the respect of Vader. Remember how callously he talked to Vader in ESB? That kind of talk from an Imp Officer would get you killed, but Fett has no such compunctions. Also, he dueled Vader to a standstill over that Icarii soothsayer business. Who else has done that? Obi-Wan and Luke. That's it. (Dooku fought him as Anakin, not Vader. Same for Asajj Ventress)Luke was okay until after ROTJ, then, I don't know, he just sort of, geezered up. Jacen ** me off throughout NJO, someone should have knocked him off his high horse in the beginning, that would've shown him. | #21 Sep 16th 2006, 7:56pm . Edited Sep 16th 2006, 7:56pm

P. S. GiovanniI agree. I'm starting to take a liking to Boba Fett. There's just something about him, his presence, his calmness, his power that draws you. That's why I'm doing a new story on him called Glorious Disasters: http://www.fanfiction.net/secure/live_preview.php?storyid=3158486 Please read and review because I'm desparate! | #22 Oct 14th 2006, 10:24am

karumi himuraI fell in love with the saga because of two characters:Anakin Skywalker and Padme Amidala.Their love is so great.I've always wanted to be loved like he loves her. There are people who think that Anakin/Vader is some kind of a monster. But in the end we all see that he is the victim. He suffers most of everyone.I was really touched when he sacreficed his life as a Jedi for her and their child. | #23 Oct 19th 2006, 3:50am

Sweetdeath04Well I'm another Boba Fett fan! He's definatly one of the best as is Han Solo... but my all time favourite is...Talon Karrde!!! He's not so great in the NJO during his incredibly short appearance but during the Thrawn Trilogy and Hand of Thrawn Dulogy he was amazing- and rather suave in the Bacta War too! | #24 Jan 22nd 2007, 1:43pm

brad395Obi-Wan is definaetly the greatest! Even in Anakin's words, "As wise as Master Yoda and as powerful as Master Windu." Obi-Wan is awesome. He lead countless succesful battles and at the same time he had to 'take care of Anakin'(or make sure he didn't do anything stupid). Even in the books they call him the "perfect jedi". When he puts his mind to something he does it.| #28 Mar 08th 2007, 3:43am

Dahli MolliFavorites in decending order of favoritism...1. Darth Vader. That mask is just so cool. 2. Mara Jade. She ROCKS! 3. Boba Fett. The armor is frickin' awesome. 4. Obi-Wan Kenobi. Best Jedi ever hands down. 5. Han Solo. I like scoundrels. 6. Jacen Solo. I half hate his guts, half love him. 7. Jaina Solo. No idea why. 8. Pretty much any Jedi or Sith. I LOVE THEM ALL! Except Mace Windu. I can't stand him. | #30 May 09th 2007, 10:05am

Aubreys-MasterIn order from greatest to least...1. Anakin Skywalker. Ani's my boy. We've bonded, and no one can break that bond. 2. Jango Fett. Too cool for WORDS. 3. Alpha-17. Again, too cool for words. 4. Obi-Wan Kenobi. (Who is not at all honest or trustworthy, but a sneaky liar. I love him anyway.) 5. Leia Organa-Solo. So much more awesome than her mommy. That, and the older she gets, the more awesome she becomes. 6. Barriss Offee. I love her. At least in my 'verses. 7. Aayla Secura. Again, love. 8. Mara Jade Skywalker. Didn't like her too much, at first, but she's grown on me. 9. Jacen Solo. He's wobbly for me, but I'd still put him in my top ten. *Pets Legacy* 10. Anakin Solo. I really adored him during the Corellian Trilogy. | #33 Jun 07th 2007, 7:22am

Jimmy the SniperWell, if we're doing a list:1. Boba Fett - the greatest bounty hunter, respected by Vader, I could go on. 2. Darth Vader - do I need to explain? 3. Darth Revan - alomst conquered the Republic, rumoured to be the Sith'ari, he's just awesome. 4. Han Solo - he's quite the nerf herder, isn't he? 5. Lando Calrissian - he tries so hard 6. Kyp Durron - he walked both sides of the line and came out stronger for it and in dead last... Jacen Solo - ** me off in NJO, ** me off in DN, and now he's a Sith. Far too self-righteous. I just want him to have a tragic death that might redeem him. Or, for him to admit that he's a fool. | #34 Jun 07th 2007, 12:06pm

skywalker051. Luke Skywalker, the backwater everyman who becomes a kick-butt pilot and Jedi (and looks awesome in RotJ. I am definatly not, though, going to gush and sound like a fangirl. If I were being entirely rational I'd say Luke is not at all romantic and should never have been married. He's too cosmic for it. Too full of casual universal power for a single relationship with a flawed woman (as every woman, or man, is) for it to work and/or be worth his time.)2. Darth Maul. (It's Jan Duursema's fault. I guess I like'd Maul in the beginning for the martial arts influences in his fighting style really, but I can't pin down something to explain his composite awesomeness.) | #36 Jul 08th 2007, 4:02pm

Teh TricksterYay, I have a favourite character nobody else has!My favourite character in the entire Star Wars Universe would have to be Qui-Gon Jinn. I really admire him because he is brave, self-sacrificing, and pretty much someone who knows how to take care of other people. He is a powerful fighter, and is very strong in the force. However, he does have his weaknesses, like stubborness, and being somewhat of a mavarick and that makes him relatable because in a way, I am like that as well, I am stubborn. I really admire him because even though he has his flaws and his tragic experiences, he still continues to fight for what he believes in. He was arguably the most powerful jedi in existance because he was the one who discovered the secret in retaining your body and thoughts, even though you're being one with the force. Kind of like immortality, in a way, and he was the one who taught Obi-Wan and Yoda how to do so. | #37 Jul 12th 2007, 1:44am

brad395I always really liked Qui-Gon. Probably because he overcame so many challenges and stayed on course. I don't know, something about his stubborn personality. But, sad to say, he's not a 'fav' of mine.....| #38 Jul 12th 2007, 6:27am
Teh TricksterOh, it's alright, we all have our own favourites, and mine personally has to be Qui-Gon. Well . . . he is stubborn though, because the council already stated that Anakin was too old to train and he insisted on it, but was overrulled. Then, when he died, he made Obi-Wan promise that he would train Anakin, and Obi-Wan agreed. In a way, Qui-Gon did get his way after all, and he was stubborn because he simply would not take no for an answer, for something he believes in.| #39 Jul 12th 2007, 7:19pm

Guardian AngelslayerDuring episode 1 it's obi wan and qui gon. during episode 2 and midway through episode 3 it's anakin, then it switches to obi wan and yoda. Yoda happens to go all the way through episode 6 along with luke, leia, and han solo. It usually sticks like that until I get to the New Jedi Order.| #40 Jul 19th 2007, 9:57am
Teh TricksterWell . . . it's not just Yoda who appears throughout the whole six episodes. I guess you could consider Obi-wan as well, only that he appeared in spirit form.| #41 Jul 19th 2007, 11:09am

Guardian AngelslayerI guess you could say that.| #42 Jul 19th 2007, 11:40am
Teh TricksterYeah . . . I wish Qui-Gon could do the same thing too, after all, it was he who taught Obi-wan and Yoda how to do it in the first place. Then again, Liam Neeson broke his leg during that time, so I guess it is understandable after all. Let's just assume that he appeared too, at least to Obi-wan and Yoda until they themselves died.Oh well, at least we did get to hear his voice! | #43 Jul 19th 2007, 7:35pm

Cartoonatic55Heh. I like most of the Star Wars characters. I really can't pick which one I think would be the coolest. I really like Obi-Wan and Yoda simply because they're awesome, Anakin and Luke because they're both very cool in their own way, Darth Vader and General Grievous because they're way too cool for words. There's also Han, Leia, Chewy, R2D2, Boba Fett, Jengo Fett, and Qui-Gon too. I don't know why, but I also have some sort of an odd attatchment to Jar Jar Binks. (Please don't kill me for saying that.)| #45 Aug 17th 2007, 10:40am

Teh TricksterSame here. I actually liked Jar Jar! I felt that he was cute, funny, and provided ample comic relief for an otherwise serious movie. He was one of my favourite characters in Star Wars, except that he ended up dropping down to my like section instead, but at least Jar Jar isn't as bad as some people make him out to be. I still like him anyway.| #46 Aug 18th 2007, 5:27am

Marriella BulletI know. Lots of people are like "Jar Jar is so annoying!" blah, blah, blah. Well I've always liked Jar Jar. He's funny!!!| #47 Aug 18th 2007, 8:17am

Teh TricksterJar Jar is too cute, I can't help wondering why people don't like him! At least he provides the comic relief. I don't blame the characters in Star Wars for being irritated with him, but he's just too cute to actually dislike. I can't bring myself to dislike him.The scenes with Jar Jar involving Qui-Gon were really cute as well! Who can forget the part where Qui-Gon tells Jar Jar, "Don't touch anything," and Jar Jar sticks his tongue out at him behind his back. Oh, and the part where Qui-Gon grabs Jar Jar's tongue when Jar Jar was trying to grab a fruit with it. The expression on his face was hilarious when Jar Jar did it for the first time! | #48 Aug 18th 2007, 8:45pm

Jimmy the SniperMy annoyance with Jar Jar is purely that voice. My apologies to Ahmed Best, but I cannot stand that screech. As a character though, Jar Jar is necessary. He provides the comic relief in the only SW movie without the perfect comic duo of R2-D2 and C-3PO. If they were already an established team in TPM, there would be no need for Jar Jar, and I think the saga would be better off without him. But, as stated, he is necessary due to the early deficiency of our favourite droid duo.| #49 Aug 20th 2007, 7:54pm

RhodanumIf I have to make a list of my favorite characters, this would probably be it:Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader - I don't make a clear distinction between these two, as most people do, because for me they are basically the same person, just with different manifestations of their inner natures. I like them both for the fact that they're imperfect, flawed characters, with very strong internal and moral conflicts. Throughout the movies, they've always been more drawn to the blurred, grey line between light and dark, instead of towards the extremes (even at his best, Anakin still has a wild, dangerous edge to his character and Vader still manages to retain some shred of his humanity and to uphold a personal code of honor). This without mentioning the fact that suited Vader is just so extremely sexy, with that deep, rumbling voice and that commanding attitude! :) [/fangirl moment] Padme Amidala - I've always liked her character, perhaps necause she's had to be strong and responsible from a very early age, but still retains her innate kindness and sense of justice - both features which will be passed on to her son and, to an extent, to her daughter. Luminara Unduli - It was The Approaching Storm that did it for me and since then I've had a liking for Luminara. To me, she seems a little less stiff than most of the other Jedi. She's a much warmer, amicable person than the entire grumpy Council put together, I should think. Shaak Ti - For the same reasons that I like Luminara. Not to mention that she proved in the Clone Wars cartoon that she's a brilliant lightsaber duelist. Firmus Piett - I absolutely adore the men of the Empire (well, with the exception of Admiral Kendal Ozzel) and I couldn't skip on Piett. He's the epithome of what an ideal Imperial officer should be - diligent, competent, discreet, civilized and with an inbred sense of honor. I particularly like that, out of the many commanders that have served on the Devastator and Executor, he was the one to earn some of Vader's respect. Assajj Ventress - I was first drawn to her unusual design and dual-bladed Jar'Kai fighting style, but after reading the comic strip Obsession, she became one of my favorites as well. That comic expands upon her character, giving her more depth and showing that she too is a redeemable being, if she should ever learn to let go of her anger and hatred. There are many more characters that I greatly like, of course, but that list would be too big to properly fit here. Suffice to say that the only characters I cannot stand are Jacen Solo (for reasons stated above), Kendal Ozzel and Conan Motti (for being close-minded) and Mara Jade (who strangely enough has begun to grow on me, but not through reading official SW literature, but unofficial, well-written fan-fics about her. Go figure.) | #50 Aug 21st 2007, 11:14pm
