It took me a while, but I think it's finally time for me to admit that I love John and Claire. In the film, the sexual tension between them is undeniable, but I think there's something more. I think there was a real understanding between them when they were sitting in the circle, and that kiss! TWbasketcaseI think the main thing I like about them is the teasing. It is funny as hell and I love how at any minute one of them is going to knock the other out. If anything I think they are humourous, and that is their best quality (in my opinion.) I'm not huge on John/Claire fics myself, but anything by Aebhel, Mango, or Quirky Del is great in my opinion. John and Claire just need to be written right, and get the justice they deserve...maybe that way people won't find them so cliched and predictable, what do you guys think?  Philipa AleshreIt's me again with the John/Claire thing! =D And it's just that I love them cos... I mean, Claire was able to see through John's shield. He builds a wall to scare away people, but she doesn't want to go. She makes John a better person, and he also does that with her. She's also arrogant, usually she like... denigrates?... people, but she isn't all that bad, she's just a lost girl...I don't know, there's just too much about them i can't really say cos i don't know how lol they're just too great together. or maybe im wrong and im some kind of good girl looking for a bad guy... don't know if that's why i love them so much, but... there great characters who have so many differences but at the same time are so alike... TWbasketcaseYou know what the greatest John/Claire song would be? 'Wish Me Well' by the Bouncing Souls. It came on my playlist today and immediately I thought about them. I laughed so hard. It would be a good song for them in a FUNNY way, but not on a serious note. You guys should look up the lyrics. Funny stuff. For a more serious thing I usually think of them with "With Or Without You" by U2. God, that song makes me INSANE!!! And seeing U2 performing it live was even greater. Oh, I'm gonna start to cry again lol Well, I just wanted to answer that I think you were right about the word. Maybe it was the one I needed but didn't come to me mind. TWbasketcaseThat is a nice song. I think I have a song for every person and couple in the breakfast club...especially when I write. When it comes to Claire and John I prefer really angsty songs, and funny songs like the one mentioned above (depending on what kind of scene I am writing.) And no problem about the word, lol. celeraI think a good song for John and Claire would be Madonna's Borderline. It describes the process of how they drive each other crazy perfectly. I found it so interesting that John would light the joint for Claire. He could have told her to do it herself. It's a subtle cue that his feelings for her are real. But seriously, bending over backwards for her like that and then insulting her sends a very mixed message. |

TWbasketcaseI never really thought about it that way. But then again him cheering (by pumping his fist into the air) at the end of the movie shows how happy he is too. I can see the mixed messages as well...no wonder she cried so much; he would ** me right off to the point of crying as well! LOL. I think you have a really good vision of these two. Sadie LovegoodI LOVE the Bender/Claire pairing! When i first watched it, i felt it was inevitable they were gonna get together. I love the pair where he's hiding under Claire's seat and he's looking at her crotch and she slams her legs together on his head. Although i wish there could have been more time to explore the pairing itself. Other than that scene in the closet and at the end with the earring, we didn't see much of it. |

TWbasketcaseHey Sadie...welcome to the forum! It was a bit predictable from the start, but they ddefinitely made the movie interesting with their chemistry. I think that if we got to see the deleted scenes (or even better, the movie as a whole) we would have got to see WAY more of the couples than we did...remember, he did have to cut out more than an hour of footage! Philipa AleshreYou know, the only reason why I hate John Hughes is because he is a selfish prick who doesn't care about his fans and didn't think at least about them deciding not to release the complete TBC version. It'll be great if we could watch them, and yeah, they'd clear out lost of things about the pairings... I read in some site something about Molly interviewing John Hughes and she said that he had cut a great kiss between her character and Judd's. God, I would love to see that! But we do have good scenes in the movie! I LOVE when they're running from Dick and the way Andy chose isn't the right one, so Brian says: "We're dead", and John see Claire and says: "No, just me". Vampellzy Jesus of suburbia by greenday kinda has bits that apply to all of them but i'd say 70% to john bender (he rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!) also poison by alice cooper or the remixed version by groove coverage (i am not kidding.) would really work for the claire/Bender pairing. |

rylyxo4 Ok. I like them mostly because of there little staring contests you see them having in the movie they always suprise each other and there heads like swing around in suprise. You can just tell and it's all the little things you see them doing for each other in the movie. Like claire telling him to stop. I like to think of john and claire ending up being a couple in p.s. i love you. I could completly see john being like gerald butlers character in the movie and dancing in his boxers to a rock song and not wanting to bicker just wanting claire to kiss him. And claire being like the other charcter she can be bitchy and uptight but in the end she loves him so much. |
