So, I've been trying to find this fic for awhile, but I sadly can't remember much about it.

I do know that it takes place later in Harry's career at Hogwarts, probably after OotP. I want to say that Harry's rescued from the Dursleys, who are abusive, but he could have been captured by Death Eaters..I really don't know.

But, somehow, he ends up at Hogwarts under the watchful eye of Severus with whom Harry has dueling practices. Within this fic, therefore, there is a lot of information about how (the author believes) it is better to simply have some spells hit you rather than duck or put up a block, and that it is also under one's best interest to simply move as much as needed rather than throw your body out of the way and, possibly, into another well timed spell. It is due to this strategy that Harry's hair becomes problematic in its length and messiness, I suppose...and Snape cuts it off.

The one scene that I remember clearly follows shortly after this when the Headmaster comes to visit Harry and Severus and makes a humerus remark about the lack of Harry's hair to which he simply glares at the Professor. (Or perhaps there was a snide remark or two given!)

In any case, I really want to find this fic as I wish to re-read it and my friend and I have been searching for quite some time, so if it anyone has any ideas, please, bring them forward!
