Topic: Face in the Crowd Challenge

The challenge is simple: insert your self into Danny Phantom and make it good. Where it gets complicated is the rules.

-You know nothing but what an average citizen of Amity Park/ghost knows. If you're a fan or not anyway is up to you.

-As it's extremely unlikely, if you decide to portray yourself as a student, you should not be a "good friend" of the Trio's. They keep to themselves largely, except for Tucker.

-Before Phantom Planet, after Reign Storm. As such, Danny (and Vlad's) secret is not out among humans. It should not be revealed or should it "occur" to your character if human. Ghosts tend not to care and blackmail is not an option.

-There is plenty of opportunity for teachers at Casper High. However, English and PE are not open. (There are actual cannon teachers for that.)

-Being one of Vlad's "business associates" may be an interesting angle.

-Don't be a Mary Sue. Nobody's perfect nor is anybody a walking characture.

-The focus should be that of an outsider looking in, in cannon. Could be parody, but stray from the sillyness that usually pervades Self Inserts.

-It's okay to be a ghost-however, you shouldn't be all that powerful; Plasmius, Walker, Fright Knight and Clockwork should be able to wipe the floor with you if you go that way. Danny should also be able to beat you with effort.

-Dark Danny is a no-go. He's a heartless ghost and his storyline is very well defined. There should be no letting him out, nor should there be any interaction with him. Clockwork's no idiot, you know. He knows everything. Nor should you have any knowledge of who or what he is. Time manipulation is Clockwork's thing.

-Doing something to a character that would mess up cannon is out of the question. This is supposed to be original flavor; moving cannon a bit is acceptable, plowing it down is not.

-You must post the name of the challenge in the synopsis of your story.

-You don't have to use your real name. It's the internet. I wouldn't expect anything but fake names/aliases.

This sounds really interesting, a few questions though:

I have to put myself into the story, being myself in a perfect mirror image of my persona (religion, hobbies, home, parents and all)

Or more of a 'How I would view myself in the Phantom world?'

And I understand that I would have to place my character as an IC OC? (In character Original character?)

Either would do, though it should be pretty close to who you are.

...ICOC? Uh... yeah. Sounds about right. Never heard that phrase before.

Heh, it means that when you put your character in an alternate universe or fanbase universe that your character will remain within the boundries of that universe, no god play or mary sue behaviour.

Same like when a character is ooc (out of character)

(you probably already knew that ^^;)

But anyway,

I asked because my oc based most after myself is a wytch, this gives her certain heightened scenes. This was however designed after myself as I practice wytchcraft and used to have an illness to my eyes meaning I was blind for an amount of time. This is why certain scences in myself are stronger.

I exaggerated these abbilities with my character simply because I love fantasy ^^

Damn I sound like a schoolteacher ;=/

Anyway, I am deffinatly going to try my best on this!

Can I take the challenge? This might be fun. Gosh, but I hate Mary-Sue fics! I once read this one self-insert fanfiction... it was SO Mary-Sueish. Then she wrote a SEQUEL. With MORE SELF-INSERTS. And then she disappeared. Her whole profile and all her stories and everything. Oh, I'm rambling. But I have a question: Where exactly are we supposed to go with this? =)

That's up to you. I'd take a "day in the life" approach myself, or what might happen between you and one of the canon characters if you ever met or whatever.

This is an open challenge. ^_^
