Topic: The Complete Danny Phantom Collaboration Compilation

Well guys, I've been running through this idea for a month now and I finally decided that something needs to be done.

Danny Phantom's run is finally coming to a close, I have already accepted that its the end (despite all of our amazing tries to save him). But I won't let it die down. I still visit alot of other fanfic categories that are pretty old and many are up and running still, mainly becuase so many people love these shows/books/etc.

Getiing to the point:

MY CHALLENGE (still contemplating): We redo each episode. No, I don't mean redo completely. I mean, we call it the DP Collabration (or some BA title) and assign each writer an episode. The writer then writes the episode with added scenes, the thoughts throughout each show or maybe just longer and more descriptive. Then we place each episode in order according to chapter.

EXMP: Chapter 1 = Mystery Meat (eppie 1)

There would be a few problems though. Pairings for one. I suppose that you would not be allowed to go in depth with added scenes unless nessacary, and you cant make Danny marry Valie in FLirting with disaster or anything extreme, but added fluff would be okay. And I dont think you could change the plot completely so that instead of sam danny dreams about in Frightmare its Valerie or whoever. It would have to go along the obvious lines of the episode.

Anyway, there would have to be other rules as well, like who gets what chapter.

Sounds Awesome! I'd like Vlad episodes, or any episodes, I guess, but I like to write Vlad's thoughts and stuff. So... if you want me, I'll help.

I'd be willing to help too...I think rewriting would be fun. I think I get what you mean- generally within the parameters defined by the reality of the show, neh?

Okay, but so far we only have fans of the Vlad episodes. And I doubt anyone's crazy about doing one of the less-intersting ones, like Mystery meat. So, by the time we find someone willing to do Mystery Meat, won't most of us have forgotten about this forum? So maybe we should just submit each chaper/episode as soon as someone writes it. And we can't change the order of the chapters when someone does write Mystery Meat, etc, or else the reviews won't make sense.

In other words, let's spread the word, figure out who's doing what, then write whatever we want to do, and put them in order, skipping whatever we don't have. When someone submits an early episode, it'll end up at the end anyway. The fic will then end up out of Episode order, but, hey, anyone reading it can scroll down and look for the episode they want, if its there.

I don't know if I like the idea of it becoming out of order...but you do have a point...

As for submission, we could create an account for all the authors, or simply the title of the fic and in the 'About Me' section, list all the authors, what they wrote, maybe a sum form them and then a link to their author page.

I don't have a problem with maintaining it and starting the fic *cough* I call dibs on control freak *cough* Though, I don't want to start with so little volunteers..

I like the idea of rewritting all DP's episodes. I'll help in writting any of them you want to assign me. I don't really prefer a certain one since I Love all of them. With the exception of Boxed Up Fury. Anyway I'll help.

Hey, how about we get a brand new ff.net account, and we all share the password into it. Then, we all write the episodes whenever we want, and post them as oneshots! That way, its a true group project!

Of course, that still has the problem of them out of order, but then at least we can update the minute we're done, instead of sending it to you to read, edit, update, post...etc...etc...

??? Good idea or stupid one?

I don't think we should share the password. Unknown, and poor authors could post unwanted material.

I'm in the process of creating this challenge.

I have already created the name to share by all authors. I am setting up the profile. As of now, please email me what episode you would like to rewrite and your plans for it.

I will start posting the list of taken episodes and hopefully we may be able to get it all in order.

If not than we can skip a few chapter and once we get those fillers, we can go back and add them in the correct order.

So, you don't mind the reviews for a chapter not making sense after we replace it with an earlier episode?

Or maybe we could state before every chapter and at the end to write the name of the chapter yur reviewing for

Then again, maybe the authors already here could write them.

My thinking is that it might be easier to have it on an already existing account. That way it would be handled by one person and we wouldn't run the risk of things getting too out of control. If we end up having an author for each episode that's a lot of authors all having access to a single story. Although it is true it would be nice for a collab, they have been done before as managed by a single author. I just think the challenge would be a lot more orderly posting wise.

What it sounds like to me is that this is more of an episode novelization project. Since the script was written for television, we're then trying to make its equivalent in writing form. Like it has been said before; more fluff, inner thoughts and such like that. I'd be willing to participate as well time willing.

Go for it, although I'm not exactly the leader of this whole idea. Hey, if someone else wants to write an episode that's already been done, should we say no, or should we post it as the second version of the episode?

Sorry for asking so many picky questions. I'll shut up and write Bitter Reunions this weekend. Semi-promise! (since homework's been crazy this week) X(

The episode I'd like to do most of all is Torrent of Terror. I know its partly a Vlad episode, but I just want it for the weather theme. :D Also, I'd be willing to take One of a Kind, since I've already done some stuff with Skulker.

I have the same issue. Although the PMs don't go directly to me. As much as I'd like to request by email the forum is always the way I communicate. Is it alright if I were to send a PM and then you reply back on the forum?

Maybe the earlier episodes might turn out to be easier. They don't go as in depth as the later ones so maybe there will be more options to explore once we start writing. Who knows.

Aw, I'm sorry, Sparkula (livinglife)! I didn't notice that you'd already claimed Bitter Reunions! And I've already started working on it! Um, if you have some favorite parts, maybe we could both work on it. I just wanted to do the part where Vlad carries Danny back to his room and the part where he's trapped in the box.
