Topic: Introductions and Hellos
After a long absence from the world of fanfiction in general, I have come back to see how much everything has changed. With looniness and zaniness in mind, I have come to try my hardest and improve the little writing that I do. I figure one way to do this is to challenge my fibble little brain and see what I come up with. Thus the challenges and this forum came about. Hopefully there will be some other wonderful readers who may also want to join me in my internet quest, and who knows? Maybe we'll become better writers.

As for myself, I am a girl with some spunk and a terrible weakness for anything coated in chocolate. My favorite film is action, my life is not. I hate raisins, damp towels, the sound one makes when they bite their fingernails, nuts, sand between my toes after a walk on the beach, and cheesy one-liners (I've had only one ever said to me, and that guy was drunk). I love the feeling of exhaustion after a tough workout, watching a movie at 11 pm with a half a bag of oreos in front of me, Ramen, new clothes, and my All Star shoes.

How's everyone else?

I'm here 'cause I want to improve my writing making them less obvious, some more dialogue, and longer. I improved the two last ones but the obviousness is still there. I'm also here because I wanna see what challenges will be here.

Well, I'm a girl who reads so many fantasy and adventure books that my mom thinks I'll never pass this grade. I love anime and manga, and other stuff which would be too long to list here same with the things I hate.

Hiya, glad to have you join! I went to your bio page. My gosh, you like alot of manga and characters. You're more knowledgable about that than I am, lol. Cool.

I know, writing can be tough, especially with school now. And hopefully, the challenges I make will fun. Thanks for cheering up my day, I was happy that I got a reply!

I'm here because ever since switching to comic script and screenplay format, my prose is full of royal suckage. I thought that some practice and challanges and writer buddies might help reverse the process and work on general writing stuff too. And cause I like challanges. Mmhmm.

I'm a girl with a soft spot for blueberries with chocolate who likes to make sushi that never turns out right and sew plushies that turn out even LESS right. My most recent is named FrankenFai D. Lemonhead, if that helps you visualize. My right hand types faster than my left, which leads to funny spacing.

Nice to meet you, shake hands, and do try not to step on the rubber duck.

Apelles
Hello. The challenges seems fun, and I desperatly need something to procrastinate my homework with. Not a noble reason, I know, but does anyone here know just how boring logarithyms are?

I'm Apelles, still pretty recent to FFnet with a few stories and a little succuess in reviews. I tend to favor one-shots, though in no way have I thrown away my chapter stories. My interests are many, my talents are sadly few. I am growing into the stage aspect of high school, having a wonderful time while I'm at it, and am overrall in a happy mood most of the time. Chocolate and pizza are my weaknesses, I admit, and having both of them in the room next to me is not helping my typing concentration at the current moment.

FrankenFai D. Lemonhead. I like it.

Logarythyms? I'm sorry. o_O But this should help you... my friend discovered it.

Look! Boobs Are Edible.

Which means, of course, log, base, answer, exponent. Anyways, nice to see you again. And FrankenFai is wearing salmon pink pants right now. ^_^ (I was testing the pattern with scrap fabric)

i tried to write fanfics, but always failed. Maybe it's because there's too much school work. You never that I always have these ideas in my head but I don;t know why it's really hard to write them up

you just have to sit down and write it in a sitting, I guess. That's normaly what helps me. But can I still hope that you'll participate in the challenges? We need more people. (So far, the only person I've recieved replies from is the weirdo chocolate-pizza-loving Apelles, who actually writes pretty good for people on this site)

Welcome, welcome! And please! Try however many challenges you like! There's one person who is trying to do every single one I come up with but you don't have to do that. I'd just love to read what you come up with! Plus I can put it in the C2 community where everyone can see it!

So, Paris, tell us something about yourself. Any other hobbies besides FFnet?

I suppose I didn't give a proper introduction. Sorry.

I'm Paris. Got the name from Greek mythology. Lately, I've been living in the laboratory with a really hectic research load. I write stories which aren't fanfiction, too. Right now, a friend is asking me to create a story line and character set for a comic that she's been dreaming of making (this eats up a lot of my spare time). I get a lot of inspiration from ffnet. Some of the stories here are just awesome.

And don't worry if your writing isn't that good. If you have good ideas, the writing process should just be a matter of practice. My two cents, anyway. :)

so how is the writing going? Hopefully noone here has a super demanding job. I found a part time job of late, so though my free time has been cut short a few hours each week, I've found that when I come home, the best thing I can do for my feet is simply sit down in front of the computer and type. Normally it crap, but occasionally I pop out something nice.

are you asking me or everyone in general? i'll answer you, anyways. :D fanfic wise, not too good. severe writer's block with my two ongoing fics probably because i've no time to watch the series. original stories wise, okay, since i already finished the storyline and the character designs and profiles.

oh... work. school is a super demanding job on its own. i think some teachers forget that their students have other subjects and an actual life beyond the classroom walls...

...not that i'm complaining.

Oh, yeah, school work, none of which I have actually looked at yet since I got out of school. I suppose one of these days I really should get down to writing all those essays due on the first day back (which is unfairly early this year), but for the most part I've been enjoying the freedom that comes with no school.

The good part about my job, besides that its part time, is my family's responce to it. It is a somewhat taxing job, I'm running around all over the place to please customers, but when i come home I'm not expected to do much other than the basic chores, which is great for my feet can hardly take much else by then.

Fanfic wise, things are going...slow. It's not that I don't have ideas, I have plenty of those, it is the process of getting them down on paper or typing them up and going through the whole editing and re-editing before sending it off to FFnet to do some last minute touches before posting it that I'm having problems with. Everything is great and dandy in my head until I see it on page, then I realize one of two things

1.) This story is going to have to be a heck of alot longer than I thought

or 2.) This story has already been told and my version really stinks.

Needless to say, I am not a good motivator for myself

StarSparklez
Okay, so here goes nothing.

StarSparklez here, a lifeless animation fangirl. (^_^; I love good quality fanfiction and fanart, and all fan-made works in general because I like to think it makes the world smaller to share them in fandoms all over the world, and that it helps one appreciate all different kind of works, therefore helps our minds grow bigger. lol

I like knowing that, since we're mostly all amateurs in these very fandoms, with no professional experience in doing the works we challenge ourselves to do, the amount of passion we put in them is probably the first gauge of their quality in reaching other people's heart. And we're doing this with characters that aren't our own either!

It might sound lame the way I poorly put it now but, believe me, I think it's quite an achievement, this FF.net website alone.

There are, of course, many things I hate about some fanfiction communities but that's a story I'll leave for next time.

I speak french, english, arabic, italian and spanish with different degrees of fluency, lol, and I hope to learn either german or japanese soon. I hope to become a translator then go into interpretation soon. But that will all depend on an entrance exam by the end of this month and I am terrified.

Anyone out there, wish me luck, and if I pass I promise I'll work harder on my fics, lol.

I hate it when authors I admire suddenly go on hiatus, it's painful, but now being an authoress myself, I know it can't always be helped.

Reality just gets in the way... Don't you think?

...

Maybe I'll think of more stuff to say next time.

...

Toodles.

Luinramwen. Now I finally know where Apelles got all her ideas for Playground Works from. I don't know if I'll be responding to any of the challenges (I like to come up with my own ideas at my own pace, but if any of them smack me upside the head, I will...), but I'm pretty sure I'm going to be hanging around and reading what other people come up with! I'm searching everywhere for decent-quality fanfiction...

Provided no one objects (and mybe even if they do) I daresay I'll write some oneshots. Out of order of course, like everything else in my life. Hello, I am a female who makes a career out of procrastination. Betting on my motivation is not the wisest of decisions, although it may be one of the bravest. My muses take long vacations and send me postcards with pictures of plot bunnies now and agin.

I stumbled into Tsubasa threads after I'd satisfied my hunger of reading fan fictions, one long evening. When I got here, I felt like I was lost. I hadn't any idea how people would act around this fandom or anything ells! I felt like a fish on dry ground, not talking about that English wasn't my first language, which gave me a statue I was a poor writer. But since I want come better writer I decide I could change my current fandom and see how people would be in here. I've only exploded little bit Tsubasa threads and find out whole new world. I also notice my writer block, what I'd gotten, was vanishing by reading and getting involved with peoples talking. Hm, I guess this made me want write again and wanting even more come better with writing fan fictions and even original works. Yet, I haven't write any Tsubasa fics in English. I'm currently enjoying people’s works, while I'm writing and searching beta for my fics. Maybe I can someday bring a English Tsubasa fic on here?

How should I describe myself? That's hard question, if I can say. Every person has their best and worse sides, even people only like to tell their best. Shortly, I'm realistic and bohemian. I'm chocolateholist and I'm exposing current anime&manga world. I'm bad what comes about explaining myself, since I think if I tried, people would get only narrow imagine of myself, even I'm not that interest. Hm, what ells? I love writing and drawing. I like to try sometimes something new while I like to stick in old. I usually start things and it can get me long time before I continue, if I do. So, that's me in shortly. ^^

I hope a good day for everybody who has been reading this!

I'm a complete newbie to ff.net, and I've only been reading manga for a little over a year.

I've always loved writting and I love a written word more than anything in the world. Reading is my life, so I started reading manga to broaden my horizons. Little did I know, I'd be hooked.

Well, it's not like I mind terribly.

Anyway, it's summer and I feel like trying something new and it would be great pratice for my mind, so I figure I'll try my hand at writting fanfics. I posted my first ever last night. (Please check it out and review, since I really do want to know if it is terrible so I could stop myself before posting more. I've gotten one good review, so I'm happy even if it turns out it was bad to everyone else.)

I don't like to talk about myself, but I'm a girl who is practical, well versed in proper social etiquette, and my favourite colour is pink. Just like Fai, I'll leave you wondering if I am serious or if it is all lies. "Believe me, I am lying" is definitely my favourite quote. As well as "L'essentiel est invisible pour les yeux" by Antoine de Saint-Exupery. [English: The important things are invisible to the eyes.]

Well then, welcome to FFnet. Hopefully you will soon find good others. FFnet is like a giant Good-Will store of writing, you have to sort through a lot of trash before you find something good. Always checks others authors favorites, for they normally have found the gold and you won't have to hurt your eyes staring at a completely white screen for hours just for a good story.

Sounds good. This should be a good summer.
