The 2006 Legend of Zelda Reader’s Choice Award

Hey everyone Ari-Chan and Vela here. All Legend of Zelda stories are welcomed to be nominated it doesn’t matter what year they were published. There are a lot of different categories and the same story can be nominated into different categories. So have fun and best of luck to all who are nominated by the readers.

The Categories:

Best Drama

Best Parody/Humor

Best Romance

Best Crossover

Best Sequel

Best One shot

Best Link and Original Character Pairing

For the incomplete stories:

Best Cliffhanger (Specify chapter)

For the Authors:

Best New Author

Best Veteran Author

Best Overall

There will be two weeks for nominations and voting will take place as soon as all nominations are in. So have fun and don't forget to nominate your favorites.

I think they say Malink cuz it's shorter ^_^ like Zelink! lol. Ooh, can i enter my story, uh, Seeing Lies? it's currently being worked on, and it's an author insertion, about 50/50. lol. it's in the... uh... hold on... gotta check the categories... ^_^

Must the Stories be your own, or may you nominate somenoe elses if you get their permission? I read quite a few good fics out there. And also, may I enter my fic if it's still in the making?

My story I would like to enter is my Diaries of Majora's Mask in the best Humorfic section. I don't know what category I would enter my Survivor: Wind Waker Islands, but I don't know what section. Maybe crossover....

i think, this will be very confusing. maybe it wud have been easier to make different topics for each category, or maybe i'm just the one being confuzzled. ^__^

Can I nominate Animedeprived's "Sugarhigh Ocarina of Time" for best overall? That story is the best Zelda fic EVER! And when the host of this forum finally comes back to us, we could send our votes into him/her and he/she could tally them!

I don't know. Go nominate it! What's the name? And do you want to nominate yourself for veteran author? Anyone can make a nomination of themselves or anybody else, as far as I know.

Good! *Sighs* I wish we had more people. I'm working feverishly to get this thing with more people, but most of the good authors aren't interested. And we only have a group of about 20 people who really browse these forums often.

I have a system of voting I would like to introduce, if the good people of this forum would listen. (I like talking formally.^_^)

We will send in SEALED votes to the forum administrator, or myself, or any other volunteer. That can be determined later. You will specify there which caterogies you will be voting, and your votes. You will ALSO specify if you have read all the nominees for the category. If you have, then your vote is worth 2 points. If not, your vote is worth 1. You must answer truthfully, and you must leave a review to prove you read a story that was entered. If you wish to vote for an author, you must have read at least 2 of their stories to get the full 2 points. 1 If you have read 1 or none of their stories.

If you like the system, say yay. If you don't, say nay! (Now I'm being formal AND medeivel. Cool. ^_^)

However, sadly, the forum moderator will have the ultimate say. But we can petition if s/he says no! ^_^

That's all we have so far, as far I as I know. Correct me and I will edit this post. I left out the "Best MaLink" category because the chances of more then one of this coming on in slim, and we really only need one romance category. (In my opinion, correct me if you'd like.)

Oh, and I purpose another rule. Cliffhangers are resolved, so if you want to be the best cliffhanger, then you'd have to keep your story in that state for a long time. So, I purpose we enter one chapter of our stories as the Cliffhanger award. That way we can keep the award, and still update our readers when they want to be updated. So if you'd like to enter The L Word, you should specify which chapter makes the best cliffhanger. If you like the rule, like before, say you approve. But once again, the moderator had the final say. :(

Ah-ha! This afternoon I will release the 3rd episode of Survivor: Wind Waker Islands, and my gosh is it a cliffhanger. I'm entering Survivor: Wind Waker Islands Chapter 4 for best Cliffhanger.

Yeah? Got any cliffhanger chaps? You could enter them in the cliffhanger category. I'm sure you could convert your next one into a cliffhanger just for the sake of entering it in that category. ^_^ That's what I did.

I'm thinking about a clifhanger one, but it minght not be in chapter five. I'm barly wrting chapter Five and I still haven't found out how to do the boss battle.

Make it a Drama-ish boss battle. Keep your readers on the edge of their seats! So make your charectors, like, really in danger, to heighten the tension.

Can we like, change some of the categories? I only think we need one pairings section, but we are lacking an action/adventure and a novalization category. Can I add those two categories to the list? And nominate My Link's Awakening Novalization in the novalization category? ^_^ I can't beleive nobody's wanted to make an action/adventure category yet. There's like so many action/adventure's out there!

Whoa! I got a lot of stuff to nominate!

Well, for the newly-added action/adventure category, I nominate 'Legend of Zelda: Rise of the Stalfos' By ThetaGraphics. For the also newly-added novelization category, I nominate 'The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time' By Oni-Gil. And for the crossover category, I nominate 'The Legend of Zelda: Cameos of Time' By DragonRaiderX9.

I also propose a new rule. Though we (Obviously) can nominate ourselves and/or our stories, we cannot VOTE for ourselves and/or our stories. And since we started nominating in March and it's been WAY longer than two weeks since then...let the voting begin!

Voting already? We don't have nearly enough nominees! And you're putting me up against Cameos of Time? Awww... I don't want more competition! ^_^ Just joking! A little healthy competition can't hurt. And with already like 15 chapters, I doubt the people of the Forum would be willing to read it! Though I must say, it's a great story.

And what should be the prize for winning the contest? How about every person to nominate a story must give a review to the winner of each category! That would give the writers incentive to win!

P.S. Vote my stories, or perish in eternal flame. We're not voting yet, are we?
