haha i kno. i didn't get it at first either till i got curious and tried to find out who raito was.then i saw light and i was all like "huh?" XP

Question? Where does the name 'Raito' come from, anyway? Is it the japanese version of the english word 'light'? Or is just different pronouciation/different kanji???

It is how the japanese pronounce the word light because they have a syllibic language, like this ra-ee-to. I would put in the hiragana but I don't know if it would show up. They also technically don't have any l or v in there language so they use the letters r and b to make up for it. Thus Light's name is Light, Raito is for people who have that weird obession on putting in the japanese version of an english word, eh to each there own...

Hah, thanks, I thought it would be like that, but wasn't sure...I prefer Light, just because that's what's used in the manga/anime.

i haven't got any death note fanfics, having literally just now finished the series, but when i do, it'll be "light"! i'm sorry, but that's just what all the subtitles said.

Raito is Light's japanese name. These two are my favort pairings. I perfer Light too.

Japy-Sapphire: I think L would be the uke. He's just to inoccent and really do you think L would kiss someone let alone have sex with them.

I like Raito a hell of a lot better than 'Light'. First off, in the anime, it really says Raito, just whoever does the subs sucks. And the manga has been transalated. Call him Raito. Or else a bunch of his fangirls will come and eat you.

And, anyway, Raito would defanitly be seme. He's just too controling and manipulitive to be uke.

Oh, and, how about the pairing Near X Mello? Mello would be seme, that's the one thing he dominates over Near in.

Yea and alot like calling him Light. It's spilt really. I think (now that there is this discussion on Light's name) it really doesn't matter. I like calling L by all of his alis. They all mean one person.

MelloxNear hmmmm. I can see it as Mello being seme and Near being Uke since Near is smaller and more uke like while Mello want's to be number one all the time so he has to have it.

What about MelloxMatt? Who would be the seme?

In Mello X Matt, I like Matt as seme. In the manga, Mello seems to be acting as his boss, telling him to do things and Matt obeying. I guess that's why I'd like Mello to be the uke; give Matt a chance to dominate!

How about Mogi X Aizawa? I'd say Aizawa would be seme and Mogi uke. What do you think, Angel-san(if I can call you that?)?

Yea I think Matt would be seme to since Mello seems to be the boss he probly would want Matt to think they were equals (Me and my friends had a big discussion over it XD) Ah that's a tough one. Hmm if I had to say I would say the same thing as you did. Now this one we were still discussing about is ... Who would Matsuda look good with? Who do you think Izumiko

And who for Matsuda? I'd have to say Ide, only because Matsuda is always lecturing him on romance(Ex:: ~-Ide: I-isn't a little too early for them to be hugging eachother? -Matsuda: I don't think so. Not from the way they were acting yesterday.~ ~-Matsuda: You've never had a romance, so you wouldn't understande, Ide... -Ide: Oh, really? Then what's your take on it? -Matsuda: Look. Two people who used to go out in collage have been reunited after years apart. And to top that, they're in a hotel suite... -Ide: Huh? I get the haven't seen eachother for a while, and the hotel suite, but what about it? -Matsuda: Ide... You're hopeless...~)

That would make a great story line, Matsuda lecturing Ide once again on romance, then Ide trying to use it to hit on Matsuda. But I just couldn't picture him as seme, I'd say Ide would be and Matsuda would be the uke.

Who would you pair Gevanni with? And who for Rester? They're barely even in the manga, but they still need some attention...

I like matsuda with aizawa for reasons I don't understand at all... maybe it's just that I hate ide. he repulses my eye sockets.

Raito x L FTW!!!!...well, not really. I LOVE MELLO X NEAR BETTER!!!!

Anyways, be surprised, but I'm not a rabid yaoi fangirl. I just happen to like some yaoi pairings. (Which is, btw, alot in Death Note.) Because it works.

Raito, to me, has more experience and is more seme like than L. But I do not like the super uke L, because that really drives me crazy to see OOC L's flyin' every where in the RaitoL relationship.

I can tolerate LRaito, but usually I end up yawning because I do not like Raito as uke. (Unless it's MattRaito, MelloRaito...yeah.)

Mello should be SEME. In everything. Matt is quiet, and he's a loyal trustee to Mello. There is no way he's going to make a move on Mello. (Besides, I'm not a big fan of that popular pairing.) Mello is seme for Near too. I don't know why, but Mello fans always put him as the uke and Near as the seme.

Which ** me off. No way. Not only is it not in character, usually Mello girl fans want to be in place of the character they like. Which is Mello.

Well, there's my two cents.

Doesn't Aizawa have a wife and little girl .Does that bother anyone that if Aizawa did have a relationship with any one on the task force he would be cheating and his partner would be the home wrecker?(no offence)
