Rude and not GingerTopic: Utopia What did you think of the latest episode? |
|
GiraffeGirlI loved it. Absolutely loved it. Whilst the plot of the self-contained story (i.e. the FutureKind, the escape to Utopia etc) was a bit naff and underdeveloped and clearly just a function plot, the rest of it.... wow. I'm so excited for next week I may cry!| #2 Jun 17th 2007, 11:25am

Rude and not GingerLol. Yeah, I know what you mean. The best part had to be the last twenty minutes. With the Master and when the Doctor and Jack where talking (when Jack was under the rocket). The start was a little slow, better the second time you watch it I think, lol. Can't wait for the next two episodes! Hey, if you live in England, or get English TV, (you may already know) Saterday, BBC1, 21:55, Would I Lie To You? John Barrowman is on! |

GiraffeGirlI re-watched it last night and I loved it even more. The conversation between Jack and the Doctor... there's one line in it and I just love the way the Doctor says it... I won't say what it is because I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it! Suffice to say, if anyone has been turned off this series (and I really was for a while, around the Dalek eps and 42), stick with it! Human Nature, Family of Blood, Blink and now Utopia... the most amazing TV I have seen in so so long. Thanks for the heads up on Would I Lie To You. I saw an advert for the series in general with him in and knew he was on at some stage but not exactly when In case anyone doesn't know, Jekyll which started on Saturday night on BBC1 is written by Steven Moffat (The Empty Child, The Doctor Dances, The Girl in the Fireplace and Blink) and is up there with his creepy best IMO. There's another five eps, so it's definitely worth checking out. |

Rude and not GingerI'll check out Jekyll. What was ur fav episode this series? Human Nature and Family of Blood was bril, I loved them, in Family of Blood when that boy described the Doctor, that was great. I'm so glad that Jack is back! It was good that we found out a little more about him. Have you read a preview of The Last of the Time Lords yet? (or do you want to?) It sounds so great. The more you watch Utopia the better it gets lol. |

Dajunbut in the preview for the next episode, the master is seen straight back to modern days with no clue as to what was happening with the Utopia project, I really hope they won't simply abondon that story cus as far as I can see the makers of Dr. Who can't afford to make anymore plot holes or rubbish endings (ie the family of blood, stupid way for them to go...) |
|
GiraffeGirlI disagree about the Family of Blood, I thought that ending was beautiful, so chilling and disturbing and so much darker than we've ever seen the Doctor before. It was one of my fave eps this series. Blink was my absolute fave, I've never seen a scarier episode, totally freaked me out.I'm trying to avoid spoilers for the last two eps... I'm so tempted to look at some, but I want to be utterly amazed, I've heard the last episode is incredible. Bit worried about Sharon Osborne and McFly being in the next ep though... best not be too cheesy | #7 Jun 21st 2007, 11:31am

Dajunwell the reason why i say the ending in Family of Blood was bad is because if the Doctor could lock all of them up so easily at the end, why didn't he do that to begin with? Why risk being captured whilst he was human and why risk the death of so many innocent people when he could simply end it before it even started?| #8 Jun 21st 2007, 12:15pm

GiraffeGirlhe was being kind :)I loved the way that whole speech was delivered, that guy is Will Scarlet from Robin Hood, looked so different! |
|
Dajunbut surely he would have known how much death and destruction it would bring, i mean the family even got as far as bombarding the whole town for goodness sake. Surely the great Doctor would've seen that happeing before he turned human. So why is being kind to the family when humanity suffers for it? sorry if i'm getting carried away here but i really loved that episode and the one before it apart from the ending... just had to ruin it, didn't you BBC?| #10 Jun 21st 2007, 1:06pm

GiraffeGirlHe turned human to try and hide from them, he did his best. I thought Joan's words were good though, making him think about it. I suppose he thought hiding from them would be enough, that nothing would go wrong. Don't apologise, you're only expressing an opinion :)| #11 Jun 21st 2007, 1:34pm

Dajunyeah, anyway we're going off the topic, the point i'm trying to make is that they have a great potential with this fanale and I hope they can finish it off with a BANG like they have before...| #12 Jun 22nd 2007, 1:42pm

Rude and not GingerHold up a minute, Sharon Osborne and McFly? MCFLY!! Ugg, kill me now.Wonder how The Doctor, Martha and Jack get away from the year 100 trilion. It's so great that the Master is back. I like how they've done him originally, how he seems to see good and evil as a game. Can't wait to see him on Earth! | #13 Jun 23rd 2007, 6:34am
