Complete rubbish! I agree with not using the Daleks or cybermen again and I like the Master. But the story was rubbish, the action was poor and those metal ball things didn't look half as menacing as baddies should do.

I have to agree that it was far fetched and at the time I really enjoyed the episode. In retrospect, everyone saying the Doctor's name out loud at the same time and at the same moment reminded me of Peter Pan when everyone had to say they believed in faries out loud in order for Tinkerbell to continue living. Did anyone else get that feeling? Sometimes I worry that it gets a bit cheesy just because there are children watching and I hope this show doesn't suffer the effects of Star Wars in that George Lucas seemed to want to cater to younger audiences as well. Let's stick to those storylines that make you think and exceed viewer expectations.

Oh I loved it! utter moments of genius like the Master dancing around to Scissor Sisters and Jack being the face of boe... yeah it was a bit cheesey, but its Doctor Who, I'd hardly say it was immune to the chedder. I really enjoyed it, and have watched it twice since

I have to agree, the Scissors Sisters bit was just genius!!!

John Simm rocked as the master:) I love the fact that he was totally unhinged.

Well that part was quite funny, but the rest of it... well let's be honest, they've killed the third series off, haven't they? I mean there really wasn't a single episode that I can truely put my finger on in this series that was actually any good apart from the two earlier doubles, and even they weren't as good as they should've been. So you would've thought that they would make some effort to turn things around with not 1, not 2, but 3 episodes. But they didn't. For those balls to be the future of the human race was an interesting idea and the Master was portrayed in a much more risky but fresh respect but all of it was ruined by the worst ending I have ever seen. The whole point of the Doctor is that he uses brain to win the day, not some super power that not only restors his youth, stretch his shunken suit, and cause his cage to disappear completely... utter tosh if you ask me.

Well I don't know, maybe I just like cheesy stuff or something, but I thought it was great.

True, small round balls that float aren't particularly threatening... But I did like the part where the sky cracks open. (Wooo hoo! always wanted to see the sky split open!)

Mostly what made it for me was the Master's character, and the way him and the Doctor played off each other. It was funny, intriguing and I absolutely loved it.

I actually rather enjoyed that episode. John Simm is awesomeness and one of the reasons why I am such a Villain-lover. he made the Master his own. This are why I loved the episode:

1. The Scissor Sisters Moment- Seriously, can anyone have not liked that scene? That was just a total Master-moment and the lyrics fit perfectly with his relationship with the Doctor. Plus, the glimpses of Lucy Saxon- heartbreaking and a great teaser for the ending

2. Tom/Martha - cuteness :) Especially when she phoned him at the end

3. Jack Harkness in chains- *sigh* John Barrowman... just one thing, why couldn't that have been David Tennant instead?

4. The Toclafane revealed - I actually thought this was an immensely clever plot twist. Very sinister. Martha's reaction was perfect

5. The countdown - I just love scenes like this... The villain stands victorious and the protagonist is certain to die... Me likey :) Plus the ever quoteable John Simm- "never could resist a ticking clock"

6. The Doctor's plan - I loved this idea. So far from the cliched "weapon" buisness and something the Master could never have anticipated

7. The Master's death - Can anyone say Doctor/Master moment? :) There were tears in my eyes by the end of it, partly thanks to the epic music

8. Face of Boe/Titanic - speaks for itself. I was laughing very hard at that.

The only things I could have hoped for were: Something telling us what happened to the Torchwood Team, Sarah Jane and maybe Donna. Some kind of montage of the Year That Never Was, showing us how bad the Master's rule was. The Doctor in chains instead of being gnome-ified

I quite liked Series 3 as a whole too. Joint second favourite with series one after series 4 out of the four.
