Topic: Doomsday
Alright, who else cried?

me and my Mom. We recorded it to watch after dinner, and I've just finshed it. I'm still crying! :_(

At least she didn't die. Knew Bad Wolf would be important somehow - turns out it let them say goodbye. But the worst thing is that he was about to say those three little words he's been wanting to say all along, but time ran out and he was just left there all alone again... It was too cruel.

I didn't cry but it was so sad!!! I have resolved that I'm never going to watch that episode ever again 'cause if I do I probably WILL cry next time!

Mind you, what did you think of the end with the runaway bride?

It shattered the atmosphere somewhat. However im looking forward to the episode - i mean it has catherine tate in it!

i dont think ill be able to watch Doomsday again, it was too emotional and best if you just watch it once because it won't be the same next time anyway, as you know whats going to happen. the war was great though, and the cybermen/dalek banter was priceless. But i am rather upset right now.

Of course I cried.

And they FINALLY said that they loved each other; that was good.

The cybermen and Daleks insulting each other was priceless too.

rose said it, the Doctor didn't have time. then you see him standing there crying and i cried my eyes out *sobs*

-sighs- I abolutely loved it. Silly Doctor to think that Rose would stay in the parallel world-of COURSE she wasn't going to leave him.
#8 Jul 08th 2006, 2:00pm
Slinkypants
of course not, she loved him... *cries some more*

That was such a beautiful send-off and, you never know, the door is always open for her to return.
#10 Jul 08th 2006, 2:02pm
Slinkypants
it was said she might come back. but i dont know how that would work when she has done the heart-wrenching goodbye thing already so if they saw each other r they going to do it all again? its all too sad. billie piper is off filming ruby in the smoke right now anyway.

anyone here read His Dark Materials by Phillip Pullman? its just that the way the Doctor and Rose split was just like the ending of The Amber Spyglass all over again, and i cried at that, too.

#11 Jul 08th 2006, 2:09pm

I THOUGHT THAT TOO! Doomsday is very HDM-esque. There's the dust, the impossible parallel universes and the fact that she's stuck in one and he the other, and there was something else, but I've completely forgotten it.
#12 Jul 08th 2006, 2:11pm
Slinkypants
yeah, the void-stuff was the Dust! in HDM the Dust was being sucked away into the space between, like the void-stuff and the void. And the way they were standing on either side of the wall, so close but universes apart, like when Will & Lyra go to the bench at the same time every year.
#13 Jul 08th 2006, 2:18pm
silent seabreeze
THAT WAS IT! The fact that every time they cut through with the knife, they created another Spectre, similar to the whole 'every time they went between the worlds, they damaged the parallel world' thing they had going.
#14 Jul 08th 2006, 2:19pm
Slinkypants
yeah! do you reckon they were influenced by the book at all? if not they're very similar.
#15 Jul 08th 2006, 2:23pm
silent seabreeze
Yeah, I was thinking that, it's very uncanny. I mean, the entire story was basically Amber Spyglass, just in Doctor Who form.
#16 Jul 08th 2006, 2:24pm
Slinkypants
yep, with a great big alien invasion and a war thrown in! there was also the way that to see void-stuff you had to use those glasses, like the spyglass. except funnier.
#17 Jul 08th 2006, 2:30pm
silent seabreeze
MUCH funnier. 'Via the void. I like that, it's got a nice ring to it.'

I'm wrting a random poem about Doomsday. It's mainly drabble, but I'm just finishing and about to post it.

Care to read when I have?

#18 Jul 08th 2006, 2:32pm
Slinkypants
dont mind if i do! if it makes me cry again though...

'This is not war! This is pest-control!'

Which reminds me, did you notice the leader of the little dalek cult thing disappear when the daleks started getting sucked in?

so...the daleks will survive yet again...

#19 Jul 08th 2006, 2:37pm
silent seabreeze
-shakes head- Well at least El Doctro will have them to fight again. I think the writers are aiming to have them appear in every series.

The Black Dalek was cool though, you have to admit.

#20 Jul 08th 2006, 2:39pm
Slinkypants
definately. it was kinda funny when they sucked that guy's face off. just had to mention that bit.

And Yvonne! she helped save them even though she herself was past saving, by fighting off some of the other cybermen. i thought that was a nice, if slightly strange, touch.

#21 Jul 08th 2006, 2:42pm
silent seabreeze
Bless her. she's completely insane, but it was rather amusing.

As was the guy's face being sucked off. I know that sounds rather horrible, but this comes from someone who watched 'Dalek' just before the episode and so had the line 'What are you gonna do? Sucker me to death?' playing around her head at that particular moment.

nice. it was funny, though. i just found out that you can buy pens that make the TARDIS-engine sound. i want one just so i can sit there and set it off in class.

what does TARDIS stand for, anyway? i did know at one point, but ive forgotten. isnt it Time And something something In Space?

#23 Jul 08th 2006, 2:50pm
silent seabreeze
Time And Relative Dimension In Space. And yes, those pens are awsome, I am buying my friend one along with a Doctor action figure (so she can gaze longinly at it) and a Mdme de Pomedour one (so she can puch it's face in).

And my poem http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3033725/1/ please r&r.

(and yes, it was meant to be set out in paragraphs, but they have not come up for some reason)

thats it, i knew it was something like that. and i like the way your friend thinks. my display pic on MSN is of the Doctor so i can gaze longingly at him when im bored of talking to my friends. anyways...

you think the cybermen will ever come back? they were destroyed then came back in a parallel universe...i wonder if they'll be revived once again. i want even more epic cybers v daleks battles! well ok the idea might get worn out after a while but oh well... they need a new really big and evil baddie, like the cybers and the daleks. that would be cool. ya know, the kind of baddie that just keeps popping up no matter what.

#26 Jul 08th 2006, 2:59pm

Uh-huh. I jst want moe Dalek/Cyber fights 'cause of the dialogue. I absolutely LOVED the way thaey were insulting each other! Aboslutely hilarious.

I reall can't wait for Christmas. WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN? I do think it will be a bit too funny after Rose has left though.
#29 Jul 08th 2006, 3:40pm
Cicilianna
Yes, the xmas one will be good. Though i agree that having the bride appear in the TARDIS kinda took the egde off a bit for me. And I can't believe he didn't get to say "I love you". I was all "aww! he's going to tell her he loves her!" and then when he paused after saying "Rose Tyler" I was like, "oh no! he won't get the chance to!" and he didn't. Then I thought he was going to say it when he was in the TARDIS, and he didn't. meh. :(

I always used to think TARDIS stood for "Terrific Adventures Really Deep In Space". I'm a bit gulable (sp?), though! ;)

Of course!!! Similar to HDM!! That's what it was!! Sorry, last night I was lying in bed going "hmm, I've seen something a bit like that before- where?" and I couldn't work it out! But it was still good though.

The runaway bride thing was very strange and I agree with eveyone who said that it spoilt the ending. Rather funny though 'What?' HA.
#31 Jul 09th 2006, 3:17am
Slinkypants
yeah, i thought he would say it when he was in the TARDIS but its like no matter what something always prevents him from saying those three little words. its not fair!!!!!!!!!!!! the saddest thing was that he was crying too, and thats what made me most upset because you never think of the Doctor like that.
#32 Jul 09th 2006, 6:56am
silent seabreeze
Yeah! He never cries, it was really sad and sweet. You feel so sorry for them both.

I cried, and cried, and cried, and cried. and if i watch it again i cry, even now. it was such an amazing ep, but poor Rose!!! he should have been able to say 'I love you' it was soooo harsh, and i can't believe he cried too, i mean awwwwww so sweet. I honstly cried for about an hour during and after it, i cried from the moment he put the chain arond her neck (BTW not nice of him) until about 3/4 of an hour after. And i think she gonna come back some how.

does anyone else think rose was lying when she said she was'nt the one that was pregnant?

Not sure, maybe, but it would be really really good if it was The Doctor and Rose's baby. that would just be my version of heaven

lol i think it would be most Roctor fans heaven... that and Rose and The Doctor never having been spilt up, this is how it should go:

'Reporter: The BBC released a statment today from Russell T Davies. He is now giving a short press confrence.

Davies: I am sorry to say the Doomsday did not air as it was meant to, nor was the press statment issued a few months back true. Billie will not be leaving now or in the forseeable future.

Press: So why did you put the fans through so much agony?

Davies:Because we wanted to see there reaction and create a good Fanfiction story line for all the writers out there.

Press: But did you not htink it was heartless?

Davies: Yes, but it was not true. The real episode of Doomsday will air on [Given date] and Rose will not be leaving in this episode. David Tennant, will.

Press: WHAT!!!

Davies: Ummm, Oh crap. I mean... no... oh dammit.

Me: DAVIES!!!HOW COULD YOU!!! *kills Davies and takes over a producer and makes all people sign contract saying they will only leave DW when they die* HAHAHAHAHAHA'

See, it's perfect *Smiles scarily* :D :D :D

that is so funny!!! maybe they've just given billie piper time off to film ruby in the smoke ( i think that's what it's called) and this martha freeman is just filling the role of the doctor's sidekich for a season and then piper will return to take up her role of rose once again - we can all live in hope!

Thanks :D:D:D we can only pray and hope 'There's hope, i like hope' Doctor, Doomsday.

just heard david tennants going to quit doctor who - he's staying for all of season 3 and most of season 4 but after that he's going!!!

apparently there going to change the person who plays the doctor yet again...i think they she just end the series and the end of season 4 and make a movie where rose comes back for some kind of closure!!!

i mean it seems everytime we get used to a new doctor or companion they go and change them!!!

i tell ya it's the beginning of an end.

did anyone watch the runaway bride - there was definately something missing there a spark or something ...namely rose tyler!!!

at least the doctor did actually mention her!!!
