Topic: SasuHina... why??

Why do people like this pairing? -.-

Well they are kind of random but if you take a closer look they have more advantages of having good, refreshing fics.

Mare Hiemis

No, they don't. He would be a jerk to her and she would be too shy to complain about it.

Yeah... exactly... what's so refreshing about SasuHina? :S

Nothing.

Cuz. Yanno. Just cuz.

Seriously, thought, I'm not really sure. I seriously doubt Sasuke could ever give a rat's behind about anybody these days, much less someone as unconfident and emotional as Hinata. Erk.

Does he know who she is?

Er, if I think about it, these are my two theories:

In NaruSaku fics, and being that the "canon" or whatever pairings are SasuSaku and NaruHina, Hinata and Sasuke are left over. SO, if this fiction writer ships all the canon pairings nix NaruSaku (which is really canon, as well...), Hinata and Sasuke are the only two people in Konoha without some form of lover. I'm guessing SasuHina stemmed from that.

And my other theory is rebellion. Some writer probably had a conniption with the startling amount of NaruSaku/SasuSaku/NaruHina stories, and decided to lump Hinata and Sasuke together.

...Totally.

And no. If I really had to think about it and dredge up my knowledge of at least the first series of Naruto, Sasuke's probably only seen Hinata once of twice in the academy, and a few times during the Chuunin Exams.

I saw their stories and they are quite good thought. I don't know to you but their stories have extremly high reviews.

I can imagine those stories being extremely OOC

I've seen the same person in my school a fair few times, but it doesn't mean I know who they are.

And Sasuke doesn't seem like he'll be concerned with someone who lost a fight, or someone as weak and annoying as Hinata.

If an author was to stay true to the Naruto manga as much as possible, putting Sasuke with anyone is highly impossible. Sasuke himself is quite confused, may I say; he's all "I'm gonna be an emo kid and push everyone away from me and be asexual, and then I'll rebuild my clan."

Good luck, Sasuke, and your no-women-for-me attitude.

Darwinism is against SasuHina.

I have been reading A LOT of SasuHina fics lately. Its become one of my favored pairings ^^. I used to be a NaruHina shipper but I'm not so much now. Although I am sometimes reminded why I liked the pairing when I see pics of them and see how nice they look together, but the reason I sort of moved away from NaruHina is because it seems pretty clear to me that the series is moving towards NaruSaku. ANYWAY, I'm a big fan of Hinata so I mostly read fics about her. And I think that some of the reasons why SasuHina is so popular is because:

- Throughout the series, she is the ONLY main girl not to fall for Sasuke. She spends all her time crushing on Naruto. In a number of fics, Sasuke is seen as noticing Hinata and preferring her company as opposed to the other girls in the village because she seems to be the only one not obsessing over him. Then, Sasuke gets to know her and grows to like her. This seems like a plausible story plot for fics, despite the two characters never actually interacting in the real series (dang it Kishimoto-san!)

- They actually have good chemistry. Both are quiet people and both are from high-ranking clans with powerful bloodline limits. Both faced difficulties during their childhood. But at the same time, there are stark differences between their characters. Sasuke is hard, striking, and dark. Hinata is soft, innocent, and shy. You know what they say, opposites can attract! The dark knight and the soft yet brave warrior princess.

- One of the reasons that Sasuke grows to enjoy Hinata's company in fics is that she is more of a listener, and doesn't talk on and on if he wants silence. This comes to be a trait that he likes about her in some fics. This works in fics and keeps the characters IN CHARACTER.

- In some fics, Sasuke sees Hinata as a means to have a powerful clan: the Byakugan and Sharingan combined. At times in the fics, Sasuke sees being with Hinata as merely a political marriage. But grows to like her.

- In some fics, Sasuke notes that Hinata is the only girl who isn't after him and simply begins to notice and observe her. In many such fics, the majority being the ones that take place during the ninjas' genin years, Sasuke is seen as noting Hinata's weaknesses but also recognizing how much she trains to strengthen herself (which is true to the plot of Naruto, she does). In some fics, he even chooses to help her. But at times, merely through observation, Sasuke seems to gain an attraction to Hinata, seeing her as different and being interested - maybe even confused - by her.

- In some Shippuden fics, Sasuke interacts with Hinata for the first time. He is sometimes taken by her beauty and remembers her from his past, recognizing that she was into Naruto and not him, and grows curious. In others, again, he sees her as a way to a powerful clan.

- Some childhood-based fics, Sasuke and Hinata, being from powerful clans, meet through their clans' meetings. Perhaps there is an arranged marriage between the two, or simply a play date. But Sasuke grows to like her due to her shy demeanor and her lack of pestering as opposed to other girls that Sasuke has met.

Some fics that I would recommend to see some of these examples would be:

Ikigai: FANTASTIC fic! The writing is wonderful. It is based during Shippuden. Even if you dislike the pairing, I feel that you will fall in love with the writing style at least. Thus far, it is 27 chapters with over a thousand reviews.

For Your Amusement: an AU fic. Sasuke goes on a fieldtrip with his school and is paired with Hinata. They both have to learn five things about each other. Just read and you'll see what I mean.

Tiny Pearl: genin-based fic. Lovely writing. Other possible pairings with Hinata also included.

There's another one that I'm forgetting right now...I'll post it up when I find it!

Baaaah...This is way long. But I felt that I should provide some kind of defense for one of my favored pairings. SasuHina may not be possible in the series due to the lack of interaction between the two characters, but it is something different for fans, and a whole other realm of possibility that can actually work while keeping the characters in character. Fans see the possible chemistry and all the potential. It is also endearing for some, to see the dark Sasuke and shy Hinata come together. Hinata just has certain traits that can be worked towards having Sasuke like her:

Her kindness...Her quietness...Her strength and persistence...Her intelligence and perception...Her ability to relate to others...Her healing capabilities (she is a natural healer, someone that could help Sasuke, who is so damaged)

Okay, that's all for now. If you would like to see some great SasuHina fan art, go to deviantart.com and search for divine-nataku. She also has great art for other pairings like NaruSaku, TenLee, InoChoji I think...Some others as well.

'KAY! That's all for now! Hope my rambling made at least SOME sense!!!

No way!! Did you, like, read the latest chapters of Naruto anyway?! Yeah Hinata confessed her feelings first and few chapters ahead it was Sakura's turn, but somehow Naruto thought of it as a freakin' JOKE! He thought that Sakura's lying to herself for saying "I love you to him"! I still didn't know that her feelings for him is true but some say that she's doing it so that Naruto could stop Sasuke (Who, is, a very dangerous international Criminal). And I'm still waiting for Naruto's reply to Hinata's feelings.

Look, I'm not a really big fan of SasuHina nor do I hate it. But dang that's a very long reply to give reasons for them to be together...!! you must've be a really good fan of it. O.o

Even Sasuke would like a personality, I think.

#16 Nov 24th, 12:33pm
Dreary Somebody

If that what he wants, he isn't getting it.

There are perhaps three or four actually developed characters in the series: Naruto, Sakura, Kakashi. Maybe Neji, maybe Lee, maybe Shikamaru. Pretty much everyone else can be summed up in one sentence. Sasuke's choices are, basically: emotional girl, agressive girl, girly girl, shy girl, and tomboy.

Yeah, but I'm sure Sasuke needs to develop a personality himself first. Well at least one that isn't all: "Kill, Hate, Angst, Revengeee."

His loss.

Never said Sasuke had a personality either. He's ridiculously underdeveloped, considering he's been the focus of the entire series for so long. D:

They're cardboad cutouts. The shonen Twilight.

Miss Chocolat

Oh, goodness no. I don't need Sasuke sparkling. D:

And, I don't see why Naruto can be so popular as a franchise without well developed characters. It makes me upset, really, it does.

Mare Hiemis

The answer lies in the marketing of Twilight.

#23 Nov 28th, 7:15am
Miss Chocolat

Of course. As long as there are raving fangirls, the story shall survive. :/

#24 Nov 28th, 9:04am

It does give aspiring writers some hope, however.

Depends on your priorities. Twilight says "you can get published, sure, but that doesn't mean you have any talent whatsoever." Ew.

Some only want the fame or bragging rights.

Aren't we supposed to talk about SasuHina than that twillight? I'm not so a big fan of it...

#28 Dec 02nd, 3:40am
Mare Hiemis

Isn't that a shame?

#29 Dec 02nd, 11:26am
Sachiness

Not a shame to hate twilight? No, it is not... actually, I'm glad to not like twilight myself... at least I'm not a big fan trying to risk my life over a stampede just to see a guy who's a hundred feet away... that's way over the top. No offense but just to be simple, I'm not really interested in it.

Can we just get back to the main topic?

Golly gee, mister, you're really good at spotting sarcasm.

Lol.

But she's right. We should be raving on SasuHina instead of destroying this board with Twilight.

I dunno, I read "TWILIGHT: OPEN SEASON" in every thread I see.
