Topic: Zoaldyeck Family and employees.

Is it just me or does the Zoaldyeck family not get enough air time. I especially like Zeno; I gotta root for old guy bad-**. The fight between silva, zeno and kuroro was amazing I just wish it lasted longer. Illumi is also another of my faves... Gives ya shivers that one does.

Yes, but well, one of the story arcs is about them or rather, they were all introduced when Gon and the others went to get Killua. I also wish that I could see more of Silver in action.

Bdw, who exactly is the fourth son? Some fans say that he's named Alluka although I have yet to see him. But it wouldn't surprise me if he wasn't in the anime, only in the manga.

the alluka name was a crreation by fans. it was derived from how the names of the zaoldyeck children were patterned: the last syllable being the first syllable of the name of the next child, with the LU always being the second syllable. illuMI-MIluKI-KIlluA-AlluKA-KAlluto. see?

i agree with you on the lack of airtime. i think they are one of the coolest characters ever created. i'm currently hunting for a DVD/VCD entitled "the zaoldyecks". i heard it's canon and the reviews are all praise. it's generally about the everyday life of the zaoldyeck's, which the reviews termed as "hilarious" and "they aren't that scary afterall". definitely a must have for any zaoldyeck fan.

my fave Z chara is illumi. i have nothing against yaoi but i also get tired of him always being paired with hisoka. anyone has a better idea? how about pairing him up with a for a change. i think it'll be a blast! hehe

And there is the biggest problem with HxH fanfiction. There are not enough females to pair people with. And so they (the writers) so the boys and men with eachother. or they create OCs which often turn into Mary-Sues and Gary-Stues. [/rant]

I searched extensively on Google, amzaon, yahoo, bittorrent sites looking for a Zoaldyeck based anime but this is the only thing I could find (remove the spaces):

Yes, I know about the fan-created name "Alluka" but there remains the fact that there are 5 Zoaldyeck sons mentioned in the manga and I think also in the anime during this particular story arc.

As for non-yaoi pairing...*ahem, ahem*...HISOKA X MACHI OF COURSE!!! I don't see Illumi being paired with any female in the show, he's too beautiful to be paired if you know what I mean *wink, wink*

i found one fic which was illuxmachi. it's not exactly romantic. it's pretty good but the author is quite adamant on giving it a sequel. i forgot the title but it's something about the most valuable finding of all human history.

*sigh* that is one of my many frustrations myself. togashiro created 4 females in YYH, but only 3 in HxH! the worse is, Neon ain't a major chara, Paku died and Machi doesn't appear as much, neither does she seem interested in anyone. there are hisokaxmachi pairings but very few, not to mention that most of them are very OOC. sorry guys, i'm a stickler when it comes to character's personalities...i can only relent as much.

It's hard to find anything Hunter X Hunter. Pretty much all of the fansites are abandoned and there are no groups about HxH guh.

Machi.... Unfortuantely for me I think she'd more likely be celibate or be with that genei ryodan swordsman. I forgot his name but it's that tall skinny one that captured Killua and Gon.

You mean Nobunaga? God, please not him! They only went on a date once but that's because it's all for show. Other than that, there's no romantic hint about them.

+sigh+ I agree with what you said about Machi being 'celibate' or partnerless. As much as I root for HisokaxMachi, I don't really think it would happen. ^.^

There are still some active HxH fansites, I usually go to Hunter Depot and hisoka.org (not that sure about addy coz I saved it to favorites a long time ago) coz they have character listings, nen types and such there. Besides, they have character profiles for the Zoaldyeck/Zoldyeck/Zoldick/whatever the spelling family. But I'll look into that site you and od mentioned.

But yes, there were five mentioned Zaoldyeck children, meaning either one of them has yet to appear, or was killed off before the manga started.

SPOILER!!!SPOILER!!!And question/searching for: Anyone that's seen the very last moments of GI final OVA knows what happens with the accompany card that Killua and Gon brought into the "real world". Has there been a fic continuing those last moments?

They use the card to transport themselves to Nigg, whom they think is Gon's dad. After that moment, there is supposed to be another Arc, but Yoshihiro-sama hasn't published a new chapter or volume in almost a year. I miss reading. ;-;

probably in hibernating mode. i've heard somewhere (supposedly canon) that the cards supposedly transport gon to his dad but it didn't work that way cause he's with killua. the condition is that if gon meets his dad, he should be alone.

Gon said he wanted to take Killua to meet his dad in the first place. I think maybe the one they were transported to just happened to use his name by coincidence, or did it to gain attention from someone that knew Ging, which he did. ;D

Anyway, I just passed by to point out that HxH is primarily an adventure sort of shounen manga/anime, hence the lack of need for romance. It doesn't matter if there are girls in the series or not -- if it doesn't work, it doesn't work. If there's no romance, then there just nada romance to go around. I just don't agree with forcing pairs, like what the YYH fandom did to say, Hiei x Botan or Kurama x Botan. It doesn't make much sense, with the usual reason being "But they're the only ones left without pairs!" Given the complexity of the characters in HxH, "Just because" SO does not work on them (Course, I'm a hypocrite, given that I'm a huge Kuroro x Kurapika fan, but I do try to make it work). Don't get me started on the het pairings in Gundam Wing -- how does Quatre/Dorothy make sense?

HxH characters weren't MADE for romance. The series' theme is friendship and determination and all those, remember? Even Pakunoda had, to an extent, more loyalty for Kuroro and the Ryodan than love. Course, I salute all the fics that can manage to build romantic relationships from the ground up and make it work. If it makes sense, then it's fairly acceptable. I mean, I'm of the opinion that LeorioxKurapika or KurapikaxSenritsu work better as a pair than say, KilluaxKurapika or KurapikaxNeon. The latter two just don't make much sense, at all, especially with Neon. Who cares if they look hot together? (If anything, Kurapika should feel contempt towards her character for being a spoilt brat; given his experiences in the past, it would make sense for him to find the rich and wealthy collectors repulsive by nature, despite the tragedy that befalls them from time to time. So she doesn't have Nen, boohoo, it's not debilitating. Though, I'm not bashing Neon, just that I really disagree with the pair.)

Erm. Rambling aside, I'd just like to point out the flaw in the practice of pairing someone with someone else just because there's no one else around to pair up with. Even if it's yaoi.

I agree with you completely. Some days though I just feel like reading something romantic and some HxH so at that time forced pairing are okay.

I've seen some authors in other fandoms make some pairing that seem absolutely impossible work, but than those authors actually build the characters. In one story (Sess/Kag in INU fandom) the characters didn't even kiss until around chapter 38 and the chapter were a fairly good length.

I love odd ball pairing just for the fun of it but I absolutely adore and admire people who can actually make that pairing work while keeping everything in Character. My only problem is with yaoi and yuri. I just have a hard time reading it with very few exceptions.

I'm a great fan of yaoi, so I guess there's the great divide. XD XD As long as the pair works and/or they are written nicely, I've no problems with it.

Well, I'm hoping Togashi's still alive and well. The manga's not yet finished and I REALLY want to know what happened. I don't read the manga though, I just watch the anime. But it seems like the Chimera Ant story arc won't be featuring much of our favorite assassin family. *sigh*

I agree, the assassin family ROX!! ESPECIALLY Killua! I read in the hunter manga that the chimera arc will be a set OVAs.....Could have been a translators mistake though. I also read on a hunter hunter site that the chimera arc will be animated and will be out aroun 2008...I dunno.... OH! and i also hate the fact that there are hardly any girls to pair the guys with! Umm...I'm working on the 5th chapter of unpublished story....It's a KilluaXcharacter from my imagination, story. I like it so far. It'll be really long, and I won't realease it until it's finished so yea....anyway, look forward to my story! It'll most likely be ALOT better than my past story/stories (I took one of my stories off the site)

i agree, with the previous posts. i don't have problems with yuri or yaoi as long as the relationship was built nicely. and with HxH, that is quite a challenge. forced pairings just leave a bad taste in my mouth. as for my fave HxH pair, it's kuroro/kurapica. i wonder if blood pact has been updated yet.

hmm, are there fics exploring the relationship of silva and his wife? i'm kinda wondering how the wives of the zaoldyeck family are chosen...

ooooh. That would make an amazing fic. How the Zoaldyeck wives are chosen. Anyone know if there an anime cite like Fictionalley.org specifically the "help I'm looking for..." boards?

Now I'm going to be trying to find HxH fics when I should be doing work... Oh well. If anyone know of any?

That's actually a good idea OD because I would really like to know how someone like Kikyo got married to (well let's not mince words here) a gorgeous, rock star-looking Silva/Silver. Well, she does have a nice fashion sense (albeit stuck in the regency era), has nen abilities, an assassin (of course!), a half-cyborg and a cyclops as well. Hmmm, those might just be the reasons hehe.

Since we're talking about the family, I had noticed that the three silver-haired members of the family are quite "normal": Zeno, Silver and Killua (although I might just have missed something). The others, well let's see:

Kikyo - part-cyborg (need I say more?)

Illumi - sleeps under the ground

Kalluto - likes to cross-dress

Milluki - a perverted pig...hmmm, maybe that isn't SO [un]normal

Maha - super-old, looks like a shriveled crone but hey, she can still take assassin jobs like taking down the Ten Godfathers of the mafia.

@sailor: i can so agree! lol! i don't believe it's involves liking each other 'cause come on! silva's personality and that of his wife jsut don't match! he really must have a lot of patience if he can actually tolerated her blabbering. haha!

as for the three having a sense of normalcy, well, that must be the reason why they're special n_~. there's a hunter site that said that sleeping underground is actually taught to all zaoldyecks along with other special abilities such as hiding completely in the dark (i forgot the others)--Killua used that ability during the hunter exams with gon.
