Topic: Danny Fans Failing?
I've been looking through some of the best Danny Phantom writers out there, and one by one, they're slowly starting to lose interest.

I've been seeing many writers stop for a few weeks, maybe months, come back again, and then post that they might leave the Danny Phantom fandom or fanfiction all together. Is it because the last episode has been revealed? Or is it because we're all just too busy, being the end of school, work, family and all that stuff?

we need to keep the fandom alive.

I've been losing interest in fandom, personally, but that's only because Season 3 is kind of terrible, especially Phantom Planet (WTF, Vlad in space? Tucker is the mayor? Butch has so jumped the shark), and ninety percent of the writers suck comically huge goat balls.

I thought season 3 was the best. I'll admit Infinate Realms kinda sucked, but it was definatly a great season for DxS fans. I don't think Butch was jumping the shark, I think he was simply trying to wrap up a few story lines. The Tucker as mayor was pretty stupid, but Phantom Planet was really good overall in my opinion.

I'm one of the ones who isn't going to quit writing DP stories anytime soon. I know I'm not the greatest writer on the planet, but I'm alot better than some of the ones I've seen. I've seen people who suck so badly they shouldn't even be writing! (My English teacher this year was a sticler when it came to grammer and I think it might have rubbed off on me!)

Okay... but is it just because of the 3rd season? write about the other two seasons then. or make your own version of the 3rd season. at least do something, because MY DANNY can't die because some people think the 3rd season sucked.

I'm losing interest because I'm growing up. Danny Phantom slowly became more and more kiddish, with Vlad getting a cat and becoming less evil and Danny being a 'perfect' hero. I'm into a different fandom now, D.N.Angel, and am trying to write something besides fanfiction, something that might stand a chance with the publishers. But unlike other authors I will never abandon my stories. I have sucked readers in, and have read stories that die because the author gave up, so I will not do the same to my watchers. Also I find it wrong to take another author's idea, even if I could write it better, so when I read a story that has a plot that I could improve, and then find out three chapters later that it was abandoned three years ago, it makes me mad because that plot was forever taken away from other writers and can never be put back.

Danny Phantom will not die in my stories. He will never fade into obscurity, he'll never go on adventures that he won't finish, and he will never leave readers hanging. His story has ended with an author's note too many times, and with me there will always be happy endings for him to reach.

I dunno...I think a big part of me agrees with livinglife; I'm growing up. :) I mean, sure, the actual idea of a half-ghost is interesting and all, but it seems that season 3 sorta ruined it. And, as you can see by my stories, I have more of an obsession with AU...So most of the time I'm not even sticking to the original plot.

And also, I take an eternity to update because I'm seriously trying to write a novel. Which, personally, I feel more accomplished with; it's my own idea! :) Not to say that I totally neglect my fanfiction stories, but I'm just trying to balance my opportunities with my hobby.

I will finish my stories however. I refuse to be evil!

... :)

Yeah; I mean, this was the ** a year ago, but the only recent episode that I really enjoyed was Eye for an Eye. It just doesn't have the same appeal anymore--part of it is Butch's quality of work declining (compare: The Ultimate Enemy and the episode with the evil plant-chicken), and part of it is me not being twelve anymore. Another part of it is how goddam annoying half of the fandomgoers are. :\

I'm working on an original fic right now, but I might peruse the DP category every once in a while. I pretty much only read Vlad/Jazz anymore, because the rule of thumb is: if you're writing weird ships, you're probably either intelligent and mature, or a demented fantard. There's mroe intelligent, mature writers than demented fantards, though, which is what keeps my interest in DP alive.

ITS NOT RIGHT!!!!!

Agreed!

I still love Danny Phantom! (& I'm not gonna lose interest anytime soon!)

(i just wish they'd show more episodes at a decent time (instead of 6 AM))

There's gotta be something we can do to keep Danny Phantom from being cancelled!! (wasn't FOP cancelled but they brought it back as a returning series?)
