Yes, you are looking at this right. The titles for Season 4 are up at Gateworld. Here is the link: http://www.gateworld.net/news/2007/02/first_season_four_episode_titles.shtml . They even mentioned that the episode called "Travelers" is a gift for all the Shep-whumpers...so I'm figuring that is going to be good. But, anyway...what does everyone think of Amanda Tapping coming into SGA for 14 episodes? They pushed Torri back as a recurring character. I don't mind it but I know there are a LOT of unhappy SG1 and Atlantis fans out there because of this. What does everyone here think about that?

I usually reside in the Shep Whumper thread at GW and I can tell you that some of the Amanda Tapping fans do not like the opinion of the Atlantis fans at all - decapitation by forum post. lol. The Weir fans are obviously not happy bunnies at the character's lessening screen time - but is there a RL reason for that?

Yes a lot of unhappy fans out there - you should have heard the booing at Collectormania when N.John Smith asked what we thought about SG-1 coming over.

I don't mind AT coming over as long as it doesn't become the Carter/McKay show, I wanna see all of the characters.

I like Amanda Tapping but Carter just shouldn't be brought into SGA. She doesn't fit into the character dynamics (no doubt will take the shine away from Rodney and I can't really see her mixing that well with Sheppard and Ronan) and it just seems like a ploy to bring SG1 fans to this show. After what happened with Beckett, is it any wonder SGA fans are booing and wondering if reducing Weir's character is just another example of poor writing? Keep Carter with SG1 and leave SGA to deal with its own characters is what worked best through the first two seasons.

I agree Melissa Jooty. I heard that Joe Flanigan had had to tell the writers to stop over writing for Rodney all the time, so I can see that its gonna turn into the Rodney-Carter show. I love the Rodney character but I feel that they haven't explored the other characters as much - Teyla gets a pretty raw deal and Weir has only really had a dedicated episode in S3, while we've only just seen a bit of Sheppard's backstory in Phantoms - it took them three years! By all means have a few crossover eps with SG-1, because I do love SG-1 but like you said, SGA have got their own team dynamics going on and that is what we watch the show for.

I heard that Sam Carter has been promoted to full Colonel and that she replaces Weir as the commander of Atlantis. Has anyone else heard this?

I'm still looking forward to Travelers and Doppelganger.

I'm not sure how I feel about Amanda Tapping taking over. I'm going to wait and see how it evolves. Honestly in the very beginning I couldn't stand Elizabeth. She grew on me and I began to really enjoy her character and her ability to stand up when she needed to. Tappings character is able to do that also and while most are wanting to see what happens between her and McKay, I'm more interested in seeing what command conflicts come between her and Shepherd.

Oh, while I'm here. We all know that season 4 starts this week. Give your support by watching live if possible. DVR recordings don't count. Only live viewings. I'm going to watch it live and record it at the same time. That way I can watch it again. Hee.

Buying the dvds is also a good move - especially the new SG1 movies coming out. If we what new seasons/movies etc - gotta buy the dvds etc.
