My ongoing story "Trouble Comes In Threes" features a Tommy/Kat subplot. This is my first attempt at even secondary romance, so please tell me your opinions.

This story is an AU, features all the Rangers from MMPR-Space and DinoThunder, and is set shortly after DT ends.

Summary: It's been six years since Zordon's Wave, and with the exception of Mesogog, Earth has known only peace and prosperity. With Mesogog defeated, Tommy is preparing a Ranger Reunion to introduce the DT teens to his old teamates.

But now...

One villian has returned from another dimension...

One villian has been resurrected from the dead....

One villian has been freed from 10,000 years of imprisonment...

Together, they will plunge the galaxy back into darkness...

Yes, this is a Tommy/Kat fic. I was hesitant about doing this, since I'm afraid I'll immediately lose 90 percent of my readers, but I decided to go for it. If you don't care for this relationship, there are gazillions of excellent Tommy/Kim fics on this site for you to read.

Where do I stand on the great Kim/Kat debate? Both sides, actually. I firmly believe that, at different times in his life, Tommy was in love with both of these extraordinary women...and, at different times in their lives, they were in love with him. Having said that, I do feel that the Tommy/Kat relationship was the more mature one, since they were closer to be being adults. The fact that they seem to have broken up sometime between Turbo and DinoThunder does not change this--I can certainly understand their reluctance to try a long-distance relationship.

As for The Letter (deep breath): I believe it's genuine, that Kim wrote it, and that she meant what she said. Kim loved Tommy--but it was a teen love, a high school love, a first love. First loves seldom last forever, especially a long-distance one. Kim hadn't seen Tommy for months, and wouldn't for many months more. I think that makes it entirely plausible that she stopped loving Tommy.

So, there you are. Tommy and Kat are going to try to reignite their relationship. Will they succeed? We'll have to see.

Please, don't flame me about this relationship choice.

I'm up to Chapter 6, where Tommy and Kim have confronted each other about their failed relationship. Next up: Tommy and Katherine!

It sounds really promising. Especially the story in itself. I myself would've liked to hear more about the climax in battle because the villans sound awesome. You went on about Tommy/Kat though, and let me say, there are just as many readers for Tommy/Kat as Tommy/Kim. Trust me, as long as it's tasteful and well written, you won't get any setbacks. What keeps a reader interested in a story is danger, action, and suspense. Couplings really mean very little if they are believable. You have your hands full with the Justin/Cassie one at that. Thanks for the reassurance about the popularity of the Tommy/Kat relationship, Purple Strobe. I guess it was unfair of me to assume it wasn't popular; I guess I'm just bitter about the Kat-bashing some authors indulge in.

As for the battle scene, you won't be disappointed! The Rangers are in for a hellacious fight, and they're going to be shocked when they see who they're facing. Expect several blasts from the past! And the when the battle ends, a plot twist will leave the Rangers horrified....
