Another thing that bothers me is how some people will review those fics and not say anything about how badly Kat's character is being written and yet they will turn around and read my stories which are very pro-Kat and they review it as well. I mean how can you like one fic where Kat's being bashed and then turn around and like a fic where she's being praised. It truly baffles me.

What those authors who write bash don't realize is that they are making it very hard for people to even respect the pairing of Tommy/Kim or even read stories about them because as soon as they start to bash Kat the fics become predictable and it's like "how many ways can I misrepresent Kat's character" just to reunite Tommy and Kim.

Wouldn't it just be easier to write a romance fic about Tommy and Kim and not mention Kat at all?

The whole 'Kat wrote the letter' plot is completely overused. Kim wrote that letter for whatever reason she did (I think she dumped him for Jason).

I really don't care for character bashing in general. I will admit, there some I really don't like, but there is no significant reason to bash them. As a Kim/Tommy shipper, even I have to say Kat never did anything worth bashing over. Some of it gets a bit ridiculous. Kat never did anything evil, save for under Rita's control. There is nothing in my opinion that would indicate that she would write the letter. Those fanfics annoy me. I am working on a story myself that while it is not Kat/Tommy, I don't bash Kat at all. I will admit I might prefer Kim over Kat, but at least give Kat some credit.

I also agree with there are too few writers that are decent. I have seen stories where the Kim/Kat/Tommy thing is handled fine, but I find the whole bashing of Kim or Kat and general annoying. And if you point out something you find highly distasteful in any fic involving Kim or Kat on either end, you get lynched. I admit I am a jerk, part of who I am, but to go all postal because a review wasn't a total kiss-up? I say deal with it.

LOL...Kat writing the letter 'is' over used. That's why I love that parody in rovang about the turbo movie. I think it's there where I read the whole letter deal with humor.

Kinda funny you mention that. I find it amusing that it even annoys shippers of Kim/Tommy. I think most have come to terms about the fact she did write the letter. Which is why reunion fics amuse me so much. I've just simply never seen the point of bashing a character because it was convenient. If that was the case I'd bash Justin many times over because I didn't like the character.(no offense to those who like Justin, sheerly illustrating a point) I've seen some fanfics that just make me cringe because, in case you haven't been able to tell yet, I'm a guy who has a certain degree of respect for the characters the show uses, personal opinions on them aside. I get seriously irked the moment a Kat fic bashes Kim or a Kim fic bashes Kat because there is no need to bash either of them. I think we can all agree here that they both are at least respectable right? :)

Ya, they exist. Been there, seen them, did the same eyeroll I always do when a fic bashes a character for no real reason. As you will probably will agree, the whole bashing thing gets lame fast. Probably why I stop reading fics the moment they start bashing characters.

LOL true. I've actually bashed Kimberly, but in my defense, it was my first story and the reason why I wrote it was that simple mindedness of getting back at the kat bashers cuz I was so tired of seeing them bash Kat. though I'm going back into the kim character now since the story's no fully finished and getting back on her feet from where I left her so in a way I'm somewhat rekindling her back into the eyes of niceness and willfullness.
