DigitaldreamerTopic: Your Favorite ZoLu fic and why? Hullo all~! My name's Digitaldreamer and I happen to be one of the mod's for this here board. Exciting, I know. But you all probably better know me as the author of Dominoes and co-author of Tangled Web, if you know me at all. If you don't know me, well hey, it's nice to meet you I suppose.Right, anyway, on to the actual point of this topic...what's your favorite ZoLu fic and why? There's quite a few out there, there's got be one or two that you've got a special spot for, though. One of those fics that grabs on to you and makes you want to read it over and over again, you know? For my, my current favorite would have to be RUMBLE! It's got a perfect mix of fluff, drama, perfect characterization, Luffy angst (I'm the one who wrote Dominoes, what'd you expect), and of course the Zoro/Luffy-ness of it is very well done. It's not like Zoro's all randomly "OH HEY LUFFY I LOVE YOU LET'S HAVE SEX NOW!" it's...well, it develops naturally. Very well done. And then of course, I love all of Fire Tear's work, as that's what got me into ZoLu in the first place. It was all so well written, I couldn't help but fall in love with the pairing. I'm sure there's more, but I can't be bothered to remember at the moment. So, what about you guys? |

TreeStar"Loyalties" by AstroKender. I wish there was more interaction between the pair, but as far as OP fics with mild emphasis on the two's relationship go, that's my favorite one. I hope she proceeds with the sequel, but i know she's a full time mom.And i really love any oneshot by AlibisDragon. especially "And one for Good Luck". And also "Stealth: or lack thereof". I liked the opening and ending of "Dominoes" because of how the two interact so well. And Luffy's dreams of Zoro when he's sick. That's an awesome torture fic. I also really love "Hide and Seek" by Quatrina Raberba because of the adventure involved in it. It's funny and exciting and i hope she comes back to finish it someday, but i'm starting to lose hope as it's been over a year. maybe i'll email her. I think i will. Just to tell her how much i love it. Clarobell's newest works are showing a lot of progress as well. she's really putting effort and grown quite a bit as a ZoLu writer in almost no time. Other than that i like several oneshots. I like a lot of interaction between Zoro and Luffy throughout the whole fic. That's why i started RUMBLE. there weren't enough of those stories out there to my liking. still aren't, as far as that goes... I like my own fics, which is why i wrote them. I won't write anything i won't enjoy reading later. I think Rumble's a little slow... but i've got an idea i like. and that'll make be like the story again. :) That didn't really narrow it down much, did it? |

Wishing-for-a-Zoro-PlushieHmm, favourite ZoLu fic eh? -thinks for a second-I know! "Multicolour Words" by GunslingerBlok. I absolutely adore that fic. Second would have to be "RUMBLE" by TreeStar. And third would have to be... The quest for the GumGum fruit. It is really awesome to see Luffy without his powers and how he reacts to not being able to stretch everywhere and stuff like that. Clarobell is an awesome writer. |
|
TreeStarI love all of those! The gum-gum fruit one is so cute. and fun! But my favorite AU in progress right now is also Multicolored Words. I LOVE Ace's character in that. always setting things on fire! yay! And it gets regular updates. that makes it just gravy. |
|
Wishing-for-a-Zoro-Plushieyeah. Ace is awesome. XD |

ClarobellFavourite stories? I don't really think i could choose, I'd have to say my fav authors!I only started actually liking ANY yaoi about 6 months ago and writing it was BIG step for me but the more i try it, the more it seems to fit. Anyway, as for the favs. I'd have to say my favourite three authors are Treestar, Digitaldreamer and wishing-for-a-zoro-plushie. I've found myslef reading ALL of their work and enjoying it so much that I just ahve to keep going back and raading it. Treestar: This author has come out with some pretty mazing and emotional stuff in the past months and i just cant seem to stop reading anything she writes. i can only hope tht my writing reaches up to her level some day. My particular favs at the the moment are RUMBLE! and the oneshots revolving around when shanks lost his arms. I get so frustrated when I cn't review because the site or my laptop i playing up ... hm, think il go and try and review any ive missd now actually. Digitaldreamer: Again another fantastic writer I can only wish to get up to the level of. I adored Dominoes with all of the Luffy torture (anyone else love Luffy torture?) and angst. Her newest fic 'Between the lines' is looking pretty good and I can't wait to read more. Wishing-for-a-zoro-plushie: I love everything she does really. I find it a nice change from all of my angst reading (and writing ^_~) because we all know how much she loves her s-s-s-sappy ending (okay plushie, i'll stop teasing now). But really, sh is a fantasti writer who ahs so many ideas its unreal. My personal favourite of all he works has to be 'ZoLu drabbles'. i really can't gt enough of drabbles. Anyway, I hope I can one day match up to you three. I'll do my best. 'Quest fo the GumGum Fruit' isn't officially a ZoLu, but I'm strating to hint that way and with all these fantastic write I'll pobably end up turning it that way eventually, but for now its a no pairing. Also, finally, thank you to htose who listed one of my fics as one of your favourites. it really means a lot to me. | #6 Sep 15th 2006, 10:01am

dichanaHmmm.....I dunno if I'm doing this forum thingy right, so someone slap if I'm screwing up....Favorite ZoLu stories, eh? Umm...I like Digi's work and AstroKender's fic "Loyalties", like wow, that one was godly. And of course, AlibisDragon's work, how on earth can I forget about her? I'm much more of a one-shot person, but I'll read a multi-chapter fic it intrigues me that much. "Loyalties" was certainly one of them and so was "Tangled Web". "Dominoes" was pretty sweet too! Adored "It's The Onions" and what we have so far of "Stealth". ALIBIS-SWAN~, WRITE, I COMMAND THEE!! *sniffs* I miss her writings ;__; Well, I miss ZoLu fics in general. Haven't been reading that many lately.....and I need to take that up again... | #8 Sep 15th 2006, 12:04pm

TreeStarI KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN! i love Alibi's work. then she kind of disappeared (sort of like what i did for the last month... SORRY college is killing me so much more than last semester. Seriously. it's bad!). I would love to read what happens next in STEALTH. that is such a fun little fic, and now zoro's luffy's slave and that's brilliant, but then it stopped. can't be helped when inspiration leaves, i know, but still. i miss her stories. Maybe she's gotten into another fandom that's distracting her or something. I know i'm having that problem with Fullmetal Alchemist (the manga, not the anime. the anime was only given a year of air time, so they couldn't complete the series. the manga is still running and brilliant).| #9 Sep 21st 2006, 12:54am

TreeStarClarobell! that's so sweet. I need to put up more RUMBLE. i really do. you guys are all so encouraging. and motivating. Now i'm all thrilled for the rest of the day!| #10 Sep 21st 2006, 12:57am

ClarobellYou deserve any compliments I give, Treestar. The authors I mentioned above, including yourself, are the main reason i attempted a one iece fanfiction at all.| #11 Sep 23rd 2006, 1:49am

Wishing-for-a-Zoro-Plushiefirst of all, Clare, you are a fantastic writer already. I would say more, but laziness and tiredness is clogging my brain. just basically thankyou. But, quest is awesome, and TT is turning to be a fantastic fic! -rolls eyes- anyways, -shakes head- I love Stealth, and It's the onions was an awesome fic that I enjoyed the whole way through... especially the dress scene. Always makes me laugh. | #12 Sep 23rd 2006, 4:25am

TreeStarClarobell, you totally took off when you started writing. what i loved most when you started was that you actually listened to the advice of the people that offered it to you and improved everything so much that now you're just a natural! So many authors ask for help and then ignore what anyone has to say and i wonder why they bother...Anyway, you're really great, and your fics make me laugh and draw me right in. The Gum-Gum friut fic has me floored every time i pick it up now! speaking of which, there's been more posted since the last time i had a moment to check (midterms hate me. i can't believe it's time for midterms already. School only started for me 5 weeks ago... SO many take-home essay midterms. and they're worth like 50 percent of my grade. GAK!) so i have to go read that and leave you some reviews! | #13 Oct 06th 2006, 3:07am

ClarobellThanks so much Treestar. I really do take reviews to heart and both yours and digitaldreamers reviews are always very helpful to me. I have updated Quest to chapter 16 now, but updates will be slower with that fiction from now on as I'm ocusing my attention to my other one piece fic Toddler Troubles, which seems to be quite popular right now. I don't know if you knew about it because I know yoe prefer the drama/angst genre. I'm also co-writing a ZoLu with Shiruji-chan who has inroduced me to RPing (sooo much fun!).I don't know what hapened when I started writng One Piece, but I felt the urge to write like I'd never had before. I'm producing longer chapters with better quality than my past fics. I think it must be the characters and all of the possibiities your gven when writing them. It's just too much fun! I feel sorry for you with all that work to do, but good luck! I look forward to receiving anyreviews form you and apologise for any mistakes you might find or OOCness. (haven't had my two helper reviewers around ^_~). I shall now go back to typing! | #14 Oct 06th 2006, 5:33am

Abyss of Essencehmm,Well Wishing-for-a-Zoro-Plushie's fanfics; Fugitives. Since it has all of the characters in modern life and how they all meet and interact with one another, alone with doing their own personal story in the fic.TreeStar's Rumble, which is probably one of the best ZoLu fanfics I have ever read. and my personal favourite, Tangled Wed by DigitalDreamer :D, since it's so both serious and funny. | #15 Oct 16th 2006, 6:57pm

Wishing-for-a-Zoro-Plushie-bows- thankyou! sorry I didn't get around to replying sooner. I was lazy. lol. anyway, glad you enjoy the rest of Fugitives... even though it's almost finished... heheh -rubs the back of her head and laughs nervously-| #16 Nov 23rd 2006, 10:23pm

imagine-meMy favorite Zolu fic right now is "You Go With Me" by AlibisDragon. Its so dramatic, it just sunked me and I couldn't stop reading. Then I kept reading I over and over. I guess since it is some what based off the 6th OP movie it gave me visuals along with words that played like a movie in my head, I could picture every scene so clearly...feel all the pain and anguish with the joy and reliefIt was like I was there in the story feeling all these emotions and sensations so deeply I could swear Luffy was talking to me and Zoro was consoling me....But, I also like RUMBLE! because of the mood and the drama as well as the fluff. | #17 Feb 15th 2007, 5:35pm

ClarobellHey guys, has anybody read Leiyoi's ZoLu fics?? They're to die for! She hasn't been writing long, but already I love her fics!! So awesome! You should check them out!| #18 Mar 10th 2007, 12:11pm

Rivermoore's Horsei think my all time favorite would have to be What Does Your Stomach Tell You?, which was a joint fic, and it was masterfully done as well. RUMBLE! And Homecoming Hill are tied for the most recent obsessions...the details are terrific, and very controling. It's not something you can whip through, becasue if you do, then you might miss a major part of the whole she-bang. But, it's worth it, and it's been long time scince I had to read something word for word. But it is SO worth it!!!!!! It was TreeStar who got me hooked on ZoLu, and Straw Hat who caught me with SanLu...but ZoLu is so fun to protray, cause you've got a hyper little optimistic kid, navie and just plain cute....and then you've got...well the guy who thinks it's his whole life to protect little optimistic kid. In my opinion, ZoLu seems to give off a comfratable feeling, something light and soft, with familer friends and set in stone happenings. Then of cousre, there's stuff like Dominoes, which totaly flies off the handle of kindness...and yet still captivatevs, and leaves you begging for more. Correct me if I'm wrong...is this called addiction? ^^ JK. Signed Rivy-san I wrote a story sometime ago, (which turned into a two-shot) the titles are basicaly "Scream Your Heart" or "All He Did Was Scream", however, a new writer typed a continuation for it...and it turned out greater then the original of course, (mine =E) If you're ever bored, the typer is called Zinfer. Bye bye! | #19 Mar 22nd 2007, 6:39pm

ClarobellWow, not much action in the forum lately eh? Well, in case anybody's interested, two authors, called -the-pyro-pirate- and Leyoi who are fairly new to fanfiction have written some wonderful ZoLu fics. Real quality. Also, if anybody's interested to see what me and Plushie can do when we combine our efforts, you can check our our new fic 'Dramatic Differences'. Its a bit of a change from our norm, but we're having a blast writing it! *advertises, advertises* Lookit me Plushie, I'm advertisin'! lolSeriously though, any ZoLu fans should really check out those two authors. | #20 Jun 16th 2007, 2:46pm

TheDoublemintTwins11Ah yes. My favorite ZoLu fic of all time is Dramatic Differences -waves at Plushie and Claro- its so cute and fluffy, and really sad and the same time. I love angsty fics, and even though it's AU the characters are really well developed and circumstantialy in character. It really is good <3 I wait diligently for every update. =D I swear I check my e-mail every 15 minutes, then when I finally get the e-mail my sister and I will read it, then retreat to her room to discuss it for 3+ hours. No, I'm not exagerating. It's probably the first ZoLu fic I've read that hasn't presented a single boring chappie. Yay Plushie and Claro~! <3| #22 Nov 22nd 2007, 11:12pm

TheDoublemintTwins11Oh hey would you lookit that, I guess I'm advertising too... -shrugs- Read DD~! <3 -suddenly grows solumn- Or face the consequences. Yes you, I'm watching. Clarobellw00t!! 3+ hours?? Thats frickin amazing!! Makes me a happy bunny, yes indeed! I'm struggling right now though -_- so sorry about that... I'm completely stuck on ch 27, and i have done nothing past that point. Gah... makes me stressed and thats not good, as you're meant to have fun and escape the stress with fanfiction, eh? Just ask Plushie! I've been RAWR! for ages now. But can you blame me?? I've been trying to complete 27 for about 8 weeks now i think... maybe more...Anyway! Thanks for the awesome advertisement! I have another author to recommend people! AstroKender. She. Is. WOW! | #24 Nov 23rd 2007, 4:13am
