Topic: What's everyone's favorite genre?
now here's something new. I like posting topics. it's fun.

So i'm wondering. what genres in fanfics do you guys like best. in general. Personally i like some good romance (not just fluff, i have a thing about nudity and making out, in case you haven't read my stuff) mixed with a good adventure. Really anything with Plot i love. Like if it's AU, anything goes. it's favored if it's ZoLu, though, for the One Piece fics.

I also love a good Inuyasha/Kagome AU fic. :)

What other fics do you guys read, too? Like, for what other series'?

my favorite genre would have to be drama....i really dont know why i like it so mush....i just do...i like romance too....but not sexual stuff i guess i'm just still to young for that kind of stuff ^_^ you know i really like that youre starting to wright AU i love AU it is just always really interesting to read espesialy one piece AU that's always fun to read....but you know....come to think of it...all of the fanfic's i read are one piece....is that sad? mabe i should start reading fanfic's for other series too....it's just that...i am really obssesed with one piece right now.......i dont know what to do!........you know what....never mind i like this obssesion....it occupies my strange little mind...oh no....i can feel the randomness starting to kick in 0_o.....mabe i should go to bed soon

No sexy stuff yet, huh? Well, that's good. once you're there you can never go back, so enjoy it.

I Love AUs. Alternate Universe just has he coolest ring to it, and the possibilities that you can do with the characters are endless. You can make one a ghost and one a scholar, or one a indian that can't speak the same language as the rest and then stick then in Colonial america (the indian one will be cool if i ever get to it. Let's have indian Sanji and Indian Zoro lead their tribe into kidnapping a bunch of unsuspecting pilgrims - and Nami and Luffy - that only speak English, and make them slaves and various purposes. THAT will be fun. Geez i have too many ideas. i need to write faster. seriously.

Well, I personally happen to love anything with a good plot to it. I love romance/action/adventure, those tend to make for some good reads. Admittedly I'm a bit of a sucker for angst and torture though, so that's probably my guilty pleasure there, eheh.

And I love AU's, there's just so much you can do with them. And of course, they're best if they're ZoLu. I actually have an AU in the works, but it's gonna be crazy long and angsty and dramatic and stuff so I'm waiting until I finish my other one first. Yeah.

Er, I've also lately had some strange cravings for some PoTC fics. I blame seeing Dead Man's Chest. _ I've seen some good Will/Elizabeth and Jack/Will ones, they make me happy, that they do. I also adore just about anything fron Gankutsuou, since I recently watched the series and loved it to death, but there's very little fanfiction for it. Which is a shame, because Franz/Albert is adorable and there should be more of...*grumbles* Great series, I recommend it to anyone who likes anime. Yeah...

Haven't seen dead man's chest yet. i'm waiting for 2 more weeks for my fiancee to come down from Reno so we can go see it (he lives in Nevada and i'm in California. It's kinda nice, actually. i don't burn out on him).

OO! you're writing another angsty drama that's long? i'm so happy! i love that stuff. there just isn't enough for me. (and probably never will be).

I bet you'd be great at some carribean fics. i'd so read those! I don't like orlando bloom, though, because he can't act. he can do epics and theatre only... ah well. he won't be around too much longer in the picture business, they predict. poor guy. He seems so nice.

But i don't actually find him very attractive either. He looks like a kid. i like my men to look like men. Maybe it's cuz i'm older... the teens seem to love him... anyway, i'm biased there. But Depp's a hottie. i actually liked him best looks-wise in What's eathing Gilbert Grape (one of my top ten favorite movies).

Ah well.

Awww, sad. You'll love it when you see it, it rocks! Well, except for the end...but oh well.

Yeah. ^^;; It's gonna be a bit more like Tangled Web, one of my long angsty epics. It's gonna be pretty long and crazy, easily fifty chapters or so. I'm hoping to write it, but I may never get to...well, we'll see how things go, I suppose.

Eh, I dunno if I could write PoTC. XD I've got Will down pretty well, but I don't think I could write Jack, I'm not awesome enough.

Actually, I don't like Orlando Bloom either. XD I could care less for him and his screaming fangirls, thanks. But oh-my-GOD in the new movie...just...maaaaaan. Normally I could care less, but in the new one he's got a trenchcoat and...er...stuff happens to him and...man, yeah.

I don't really care for Orlando Bloom, but I really love Will as a character. X3 I'm just a sucker for the selfless, naive hero types I guess. And the new movie provides so much angst material and what not...and of course, Jack's still awesome, squee...yeah, it makes me happy. I wanna go see that movie again, damnit. XD

This is making my writing of Between the Lines rather difficult, because my brain wants me to go read PoTC fic or obsess over Gankutsuou. Curse you brain, focus! FOCUS!

50 CHAPTERS? Holy COW! i could never do that. I can go 200,000 words, but it would never go more than 35 chapters. I'd just make long chapters.

The end is bad/sad? Uh oh...

I know. focusing on one fic when you want to read or write on others is so hard. I'm doing HH, right? last night i started another AU ZoLu called "fireflies in the dark" and i set my timer for one hour and just wrote. i wrote a whole sequel to coral reef in that time. i'm posting it in a few minutes. along with the last part of Merry go round n round.

Why can't i ever be satisfied with doing one thing at a time!

Oh, there will be long chapters. But -a lot- is going to happen, so I won't be surprised if it ends up being around that length.

Well, the end's not -bad- per say, just annoying as hell and makes me wish it was next summer already.

Blah, I can't even get myself to write -anything-, I haven't really created anything note-worthy all summer. _O It's like "Right, I'm going to focus and WRITE this fic and-- oh hey, Gankutsuou~!" It's really frustrating, yes it is. I'm far too easily distracted, argh...

Ooohhh, new fics? I smell another convienant distraction~!

yeah more fanfics. And i'm just posting them right now actually. Merry go round is up. the new oneshot will be up in about ten minutes. i gotta do the create story thing....

So there's gonna be another sequel? AWESOME!

I can't wait to read this new fic. but i think the one you're doing now is neat, too. so i'm lookingforward to that, too.

I'd be happy right now if i could get anything i'm working on posted. I have this really BAD habit of writing half a story and never posting it, because i don't like writing summaries. I have a hard time with those. and if i don't do a decent one, no one comes in...

Huzzah~! I'll have to check them out, yes I will.

And yeah, they are. Which makes me MAD because damnit I want it to be next summer so I can see it! _O

Uweeeh, you're looking forward to it? o_o; Well, I hope I'll do okay with it, then. It's got me pretty nervous, I'm worried it won't be nearly as good as Dominoes and everyone will hate it. XD Whether I like it or not I know a lot of people -do- watch me, and I'm worried I won't be able to meet their expectations. I don't know if I can pull off that high again...but I guess all I can do is put my all in it and hope for the best.

I can't leave a story half-done once I've started it. My problem is just getting myself to -write- in the first place. I'm incrediably lazy and easily distracted, so it's hard to get myself to do it. Once I start and get on a roll I enjoy it, it's just hard to get myself to actually work. XD Blah.

But hey, don't sweat it~! ^^ I think your summaries are fine myself, a lot better than mine anyway. XD Though really I think at this point you could write a bad one and you'd get tons of readers anyway, everyone knows your fics rock.

oh, don't worry about living up to expectations. this is a different fic than Dominoes, so no worries. I personally would still love to see a oneshot sequel to dominoes where Luffy finally tells Zoro what happened with much tears and kisses and whatever else you want to add. That would make my month. and every other dominoes fan on earth's as well.

Naaa, I have actually considered writing that...actually, I was considering making Between The Lines the sequel to Dominoes, but then I decided I liked all the potential pre-ZoLu drama a bit too much. XD Though there probably will be a Dominoes mini-sequel in the future, we'll see how things go I suppose.

Anyway, I do believe I've hijacked your thread. XD Gomen!

Oh pshaw!

This is a place to chat. besides there isn't really anyone here yet to get a different answer from.

I can make another thread. but i'm gonna go now for a while so i'll see ya later. :)

I like mostly all genre equal as long as it's written well. But if I had to pick favorites...probably drama. I like stuff that's able to make me cry or give me a really strong, believable feeling towards the piece. I also like some romance mixed in, but it depends on the CP -- some CP just can't do a plain "romantic" feeling without it feeling too out of character (for one or both).

Other stuff I like to read for different series...hm. Not anime/manga, but I love to read House/Wilson (House, M.D.) lately. But anime/manga at the moment: Edward/Alphonse (Hagaren) and Lavi/Allen & Kanda/Allen (D.Gray).

You like Elricest?! I LOVE ELRICEST! what's you're favorite fic over there? (this is off-topic, but that's okay. everyone else keep writing about what the post's actually about...)

Drama's a blast. do you write it? I'll check out your penname and see what you've got! :)

Chibi-chan v2.5
Ah, Ed/Al fic...really, I don't have a favorite -- mostly because what I like, I only like it that way (i.e. Ed top, Al bottom) and not many people couple them like that. For some reason and for the most part in anime/manga, I just can't do revesible CP. Slash I can tolerate, but when I get into anime/manga, I get too much in their usual habit of having it just be plain "dominant/submissive." Not to mention, I kind of also stopped reading Hagaren fanfic in general because I never found one that caught my attention enough because of whatever reason.

I used to write when I was younger, but I stopped a couple years ago as I didn't have a real passion for it anymore, so I ended up taking a lot of stuff down and just deleting it. I want to try to get back into writing, if only to contribute to series that don't have much -- but I just can't find any will or inspiration, though I do have bunnies poke at me sometimes.

Instead of writing, I mostly contribute (in series I'm active in) through doujinshi. Hagaren was up there a couple months ago, but now it's mostly D.Gray and a little One Piece here and there (I'm working on something now, really).

I love House/Wilson!! [squee] Anyway, I ldo like a fair amount of drama, but too much and it becomes tedious. I also like reading fluff. I love fairy tale happy endings. Probably because I don't believe they happen in real life. I don't know if it counts as a genre per say, but I love chibi fics [well-done chibi fics]. I think chibis are cute and hilarious. But I don't really get to enjoy them because a lot of them are so silly. .

I like drama/angst kind of stories. I also like a good thriller when I'm in the mood for one, but to tell you the truth I'm not particularly picky about genre. What I look for in a story is a good summary to draw me in, and it has to be written well (like few grammar mistakes, no unbearable OC or OOCness). I can be happy with pretty much anything after that. <3
