Topic: Story Recommendations
Know a good story that features Sasuke prominently and want to share it? Why do you like the story? What type of story is it? Help spread the word out about the good stories dealing with Sasuke in this thread.

My top recommendation for an amazing story that deals with Sasuke is Ripple Effect by rayemars. Angst/Action adventure/Drama, you name it, the story has it. By far, it has the best Sasuke characterization I've read on this website. If you haven't checked it out, then I implore you to do so now! You won't regret it.

Another good story is "The Uchiha Tragedy" by Quijote3000. The author's potrayal of Sasuke here is right on. The story also deals with different issues and emotions. Read it now!

Yami White Rain
Blood Equals Thicker by Klayter McCabe

This is one of the better character studies for Sasuke. Klayter McCabe doesn't shy away from how stupid he can be but makes it clear that Sasuke's heart isn't completely gone.

Angel_eyez I read the "Uchiha Tragedy" up to the latest chapter and I wholeheartedly agree with you in that it's an incredible story. It's one of my favorites out of all, in fact it's in my favorites list as well. Yami White Rain, I haven't checked out Blood Equals Thicker but I'll be sure to if it's as good as you say it is.XD

Another story that really gets Sasuke's character is Soul Unsheathed by Haruka Hana. It's only 4 chapters and it's angst/drama, but you really believe it's Sasuke's thoughts as he thinks about his team. I really recommend it as I think any person who enjoys Sasuke's character will like it.

I suggest the following:

1. Just one world after all by Nadyell

2. Omae by Sharingan Sasuke

Also, I just want to promote my recent fanfic, Homebound. It would be about 40+ chapters long but I tell you, it's a great story. I've worked hard for it and did my very best. This is if not the longest fanfic, one of the longest fanfics I've done: -- Homebound by Gensomaden-Saiyuki

It's generally SasuSaku with a mix of NejiTen and slight dashes of NaruHina and ShikaIno.

Okay, if you're not interested, let me juice it up! -- Homebound Teaser

Meanwhile, I'm gonna read the suggested "The Uchiha Tragedy"

I would like to recommend "Frozen" by Sharingan Sasuke. It's one of the best stories I have read. The author handles sasuke's character very well. It's pretty long but worth it!

I think Sharingan Sasuke is a great author. I've read his story, Omae... And it was really good. I think he's got a lot of potential. ~_~

Just a correction: Sharingan Sasuke is a GIRL.

From her bio:

I'm a 24 year old girl from germany

Just wanted to clear that up!

Stories I recommend:

1. SelfReliance - Imbrium Iridum (SasuNaru pairing. Sasuke gets pregnant. It's quite funny, really, especially with the Kyuubi making comments here and there)

2. The 13th Hour - Chibi Orochimaru (SasuNaru pairing. Sasuke as a vampire. Need I say hawt? *o*)

3. Ripple Effect - rayemars

4. Teamwork (and Teamwork 2) - Asuka Kureru (NaruSasuSaku pairing)

As of now, those are really... the best Naruto fanfics that I've come across. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a good read.

After going through all the stories recommended thus far, I'd like to thank Son of Darkness for recommending Ripple Effect by rayemars. I'm somewhat critical when it comes to fanfiction and yet I find this story intriguing thus far. Not to mention, rayemars really has the characters' personalities pinned. I'm currently at chapter 4 at the moment and will be continuing.

The Lazy Uchiha. While Sasuke shares the spotlight with a lazy Itachi, it's still rather good. It's an alternate universe were Itachi is a good brother, but is supremely lazy. It put's an intresting view on the original story, and is very funny IMO. It's primarily action/adventure with some comedy.

Recommended Stories:

A Christmas Carol by Jade R. Raven-I know that Christmas is over, but I have to say that it's pretty funny. It's kinda like Charles Dickens Christmas Carol only with Sasuke being the Grinch and he is being visited by three ghosts (not really, it's just a joke played on Neji, Lee, Shikamaru, and Gaara).

Affirmation by Melpomene melancholica-It's an angst/humor story about how Sasuke refuses to go to the village celebration saying that he would rather kill himself. Sounds crazy, right? Unfortunately, Sakura takes his "joke" seriously...and well...you can read for yourself.

Avenger by Hana J-Sasuke and Itachi are old men in this fic. Sasuke tries to kill his brother, but finally finds that he can't kill his brother since his brother died in his sleep.

Don't You Love Me Now? by Fantastical Queen Ebony Black-If you'd like some more "brotherly love", then this is the fic for you. It's about how Sasuke finally kills Itachi and he finds himself going insane not able to face the fact that he finally killed his brother.

Well, these are just a few stories I could come up with.

Between the Shadow and the Soul by Visions

The story revolves around Sasuke and has hints of SasuSaku as well and there isn't any OOCness (well from what I can tell).

That story is nice! I guess I should also read some of rayemars fics. Everybody seems to recommend them.

I back the recommendation for "Between The Shadow and The Soul" by Visions. One of the best fanfics I've had the pleasure to read. 25 chapters long, Sasuke-centric with hints of SasuSaku. It is sure to make you cry all the way through.

I also back "Ripple Effect" by rayemars. While I didn't like Sakura's portrayal and the style, it was angsty and acutely characterized Sasuke. There was no romantization on anyone's part. Probably the best Sasuke characterization I've read so far. Another epic-read...

And Yami White Rain's work is pretty good too, in my opinion. So her recommendation for "Blood Equals Thicker" should be valid.

I read one of the recommendations, "I Know Those Eyes" by roomfishing... I didn't enjoy it much. It was too idealistic and OOC for me.

omg, you guys haven't mentioned "Wasted Years" and "Regret not a thing" by Mizerable yet. I'm not easily bound by fanfics (not even by "ripple effect" O.o), but those two kept me reading till late in the nights. they're true masterpieces. both stories tells about what happened (to sasuke) after sasuke left the leaf. they're a very good replacement of the naruto anime if you're missing sasuke. I don't know what I must say to convince, but it is really good. you can kill me if it isn't!!!

as for Ripple Effect, I'll try to read it again. so many people likes it, I don't get it why I wasn't addicted to it. weird.

Yeah! Frozen is so amazing (By the way, the author changed her penname to Salieri.) Sasuke's really IC there and the story ends great. It's really worth reading!

yeah "Regret not a Thing" is 1 of the bests. *spoiler* by recent chapters of the manga, I kept thinking about this story. *end of spoiler*

"Mixed With the Lightning of Slaughter" by Dayadhvam is a good story too, it has an interesting confusing theme. apparantly Sasuke comes back to the past exactly the time Tsunade helps him to be awake after Itachi's jutsu. and then the confusion begins.

I recommend every work by Gokkayu, especially the multi-chapter stories like The Sound of Pain and The Sound of Fear, which deals with Sasuke's time in Sound, Work Hazard Kakasasu AU in which Kakashi was hired by Orochimaru to kidnap his enemy's little brother.

I fall in love with the dynamics between Sasuke/Itachi, Sasuke/Kakashi and Sasuke/Tayuya. They are intense, distinguishable and have a perfect balance.

The only thing I want to complain is that the author has a habit of deserting his/her stories after get the readers hooked up with them Y__Y. I've longed for his/her update on Work Hazard and The Sound of Pain.

Still Waters run Deep by Winter Weatherman

It's a sasuhina story, but I found it to be extremely believable. I think it is deep and thought provoking, but a bit drawn out and rambling. Either way Sasuke's portrayed in a believeable manner.
