Topic: Otogi x Rebecca

... ... *cowers behind a wall* Anyways, this pairing somehow became my Yuugiou OTP... It makes me sad that they have such a small fandom... ...And that Rebecca is just a filler so I don't have anything to look forward to in the manga... ...But anyways, my reasons:

1) Otogi calles her "Becci". I think maybe it's just because he's always getting close to the ladies, but whatever, let me dream.

2) They were together in most of the Doma Arc *is shot for that one*

3) They dueled together against Varon... ...Even though Rebecca is the Duelist Champion in American, Otogi feels the need to help her.

4) During some point in that duel mentioned above, Otogi trusted Becci and she somehow knew what he was thinking. Uh... Or something like that...

...... Ah geez, I think that's it... Don't harm me much MokubaxRebecca/YuugixRebecca fans...

And no, you can't say Otogi is too old for her... Remember that Rebecca has a crush on Yuugi and Yuugi is the same age as Otogi.

hey im a fan of rebecca and mokuba but i can see where youre cming from with this duke and becca thing, they duelled great together, ok so they lost but there attitude is cool with eachother and they do spend alot of time together =)

Where is your source for this info? My sources told me that she was around 12 or thirteen. Only two or three years younger, and she's older than Mokuba. o.O? But yeah, I think it would be better when they are a few years older and the age difference doesn't really make a difference.

Actually, I completely agree with you! I write these two as a ship. I've got one fic that features this pair and the sequel I'm still working on... *shifty eyes* I'd like to do a fic that is solely about misguideshipping (that's the name; I looked it up!), and make it really good! There are only two other fics I believe that have this pairing, and they left much to be desired...

Plus, I think personality-wise, they would be great together!

I like it. Not as much as Kiddyshipping or Geniusshipping (Leon x Rebecca), but I like it. I do think the age is something of a factor, though. Rebecca may have a crush on Yugi, but it's pretty clear Yugi sees her as too young to take seriously in that respect. Plus, Yugi's pretty innocent (I said pretty, not totally)--and short, too--while Duke's much more of a player. I think if Rebecca got involved with him anytime soon she'd be getting in over her head. But three or four years down the road, who knows? I can see Rebecca being one of the few people secure enough to handle being in a relationship with Duke, who's always going to have girls flocking after him.

I have honestly become an increasing fan of this pairing. This first Otogi/Rebecca fanfic I read I was like "What the hell is this?", then as I read on, I loved it. Considering how the series ran with the two of them, I actually find the pairing adorable...

First of all, in the original Japanese anime, Rebecca is only three years younger than Yugi-tachi, and secondly, we support this pairing when they are both adults. A three year difference is negligible.

And no, you didn't spell it right. It's pedophile.

Oh please. Rebecca's not that young--*she* certainly thinks she's old enough to be having relationships with guys of Duke's age. The age difference between Duke and Rebecca is a lot less then between Joey and Mai.

I thought it was 4 years (i don't think anyone besides Yugi and crew along is a teenager. well not counting Kaiba and Marik

as for the other part, that one's okay i guess. though i don't think their time together and short conversations would be an ideal reason

I think it might be safe to say that Jounouchi is burdened with more of a man's responsibilities, especially ones hes perhaps not ready to assume nor should assume (if you go with the whole supposed idea of Jounouch's dad being irresponsible drunk who doesn't even have a regular job and). Once again we don't get the whole story behind the characters. I think it's done purposely that way so we can all judge for ourselves (with the exception of Kaiaba of course as his life is the only told pretty much in detail)

While you can definitely make a case for Joey having to deal with more responsibilities than the average teenager, I don't think you could really describe him as "mature." And in the same way that Joey's experiences may have put him at a mental-emotional stage similar to Mai's, Rebecca's intellectual gifts, combined with the fact that Duke strikes me as more...immature, less responsible, more self-centered, than most of the gang, Duke and Rebecca's "mental ages" aren't that far apart.

Recently, I've met a number of couples more than six years apart in age who have been married for a number of years, including my roommate's parents. I don't really think that the age gap is that much of an issue.

Rebecca is my favorite character. This sounds really cute, and sort of plausible.

I'm sooo want to read the fic where the gang meets up in ten years or so and run into Rebecca and the guys are like, "omfg! That's Rebecca? But Rebecca can't be hot?!"

I will laugh. You know when she's gets older boys will be all over her because she's a) a girl, b) a gamer girl, c) good at math/ computers, etc. She'll make a good match for Duke, who has his own harem.

RebeccaxOtogi sounds really cute! I'm more of a YugixRebecca person, but I can see Otogi and Rebecca together a couple years down. At the very least, I like the idea of Otogi being a close older brother to her if not romantically interested in her.
