I'm probably the very first shipper of Haga(Weevil)XRebecca...

Yes. I know. It is TOTALLY crack. They've never met and not a single fanfic nor piece of fanart has ever been created for them. But, hear me out!

My reasons for liking this pairing...

-Both of them are extremely determined, confident, in-your-face, intelligent, people.

-He would like her headiness. She would like his determination.

-At first, Rebecca was as much of a brat as Haga is (while I DO like him, I acknowledge that he's a brat). But, she CHANGED (though maybe only a little so far). Since she herself has changed, she can help Haga, change, too! :D In time...and only a little.

-Haga can help (albeit unintentionally) Rebecca mature by showing her that not everyone is how they at first seem on the outside. (Yugi's first impression is pretty much exactly what he is inside, after all...Same with Anzu (Tea) and Jounouchi(Joey))

-They would, to me, be visually appealing as a couple. Short, glasses-wearing, child-like appearances. It would look cute.

-In the original Japanese anime, to Anzu, Haga says something like "Gentle girls are lovelier" in the Doma arc while under the influence of the Orichalcos. Something appeals to me about sticking Haga with a TOTALLY non-gentle-seeming girl and making it work. I can't explain. XD

-Something appeals to me about sticking Rebecca with a guy who's practically Yugi's anti-thesis. The irony is delicious for me. STILL can't explain it...

-Just IMAGINE all the trouble these two would get into. XD One's a young kid and the other doesn't give a crap about rules.

-I have found no fanfiction or fanart for this pair. For some reason, I am most drawn to the unknown/unappreciated pairings...And this is definitely the most unknown one EVER.

-Both of them seem equally intelligent (though Haga more obviously in the cunning and strategy department) and equally stubborn, who seem to clash as far as some of their morals (i.e. playing fairly) go. Good, interesting, arguments are sure to abound. And arguments like that bring people together! XD Or, at least, they can...

-They are both flawed people, who would almost definitely start off rockily before growing to like each other as they are. That would make for a great fanfic demonstration of relationship development.

-Haga and Rebecca both have bold personalities so that neither would be able to completely walk over the other.

-I had a plot-bunny for the two of them: They would go at each others' throats at first, trying to best each other in everything they do, starting to unwittingly form respect and admiration for each other's merits. And then Rebecca would realize how sad he must be because of everyone being mean to him and she'd remember what it was like to not have friends (before meeting Yugi, I mean...Could YOU see a brat like that having friends?). And then she'd reach out to him from empathy and they would get to know each other, eventually falling in love! *cough* Yes, I have weird plot-bunnies...I've started the beginnings of a fic that has a side-plot of HagaRebecca friendship. Maybe, I'll write a fanfic for a romance between them when I escape the land of laziness. Who knows? :P

Well, that's all I've got. :/ So, am I really the first person to come up with this pairing? Does anyone else like it a little now that it's been presented? Am I just plain insane? ^^'

XD I know. I think I'm the first shipper of this EVER...But, yay! At least, someone likes it! ^^ I've already written a fanfic for them, but it's really short and it's more of an informative/friendshippy thing...but it's still cute, I think. :)

Hate to burst your bubble, but I saw fanart for this pairing over a year ago. I'm not sure where it was--I stumbled across it while looking for JoeyMai stuff--but it was like wedding pictures, and what would their kids look like, and everything.

Eh, sorry, don't see this happening. Rebecca can be super-abrasive, and Weevil is always underhanded and sneaky, and way too cocky. In fact, they're both too cocky. If they got trapped somewhere alone, and they HAD to depend on each other to get out of the situation, I can see them learning to tolerate each other, maybe even developing an odd kind of friendship, but honestly, I can't even imagine Rebecca ever finding Weevil attractive. If Rebecca was interested in Weevil, I can see him being flattered enough (plus desperate for a girlfriend) to reciprocate, regardless, but when Rebecca's chasing Yugi, and paling around with Mokuba and Leon, I have no idea why she'd want Weevil.

O.O Woah, really? Heh. You're not bursting my bubble at all, actually. ^^' I'm actually glad I'm not the first to think of this pairing...Wish I could find that particular fanart, though. :P I've googled the internet to death searching...

Hmmm...Underhanded and sneaky, I agree with. Though, to be fair, we never actually see what he's like when he's not going after his enemies/rivals. But, it's actually really obvious that Haga (er, Weevil) has self-esteem issues (Anzu/Tea even pointed it out in the Doma Arc). His cockiness is probably just an intentional outer-shell (er, exo-skeleton XD). Haha...Actually, I'm working on a fic like that. With the two getting trapped somewhere alone and having to get out of the situation. They do form a friendship (in my story). And hey! Maybe, she doesn't have to find him physically attractive. Maybe, he could help her mature in that way. XD Wow. Poor Weevil. Better people to pal around with...

Eh. No problem that you don't see this happening. I don't see more than eighty-percent of the Yu-Gi-Oh! pairings happening, anyway. XD I will continue to wave my little HagaXRebecca flag. They've both got rough, cocky, exteriors. But, it seems to me that there may be more to them than what we see. :3 I like to think that maybe they'd discover in each other what others don't.
