Topic: Seto x Yuugi

My friend KrazieKat has asked me to write a Seto x Yuugi for her birthday tomorrow. I'm pretty sure I can do it decently, as I've had an idea for one for the longest time, so that's not really bothering me. What I'm curious about is...what do you all think of the couple? I don't think I've seen much discussion for them.

They aren't a pairing I get many ideas for, but they have a rightness to them I can't put into words very often. There's mutual respect there, even if the respect on Seto's side began with Atemu, really, through their duels. But in the time after the Ceremonial Duel, Seto could come to know the actual Yuugi better, and almost anything could grow from there. Of course Seto would never turn into a mushy fluffball, but it could still be a strong bond.

What's your opinion on the couple?

I've never read a story on the couple, it's one of those pairings I'm nuteral on. Don't like, don't hate. But if it's done well (as I'm sure you'll do, Higuchimon) then I think it would be a good pairing to read about. Who knows, I might read it when you post it.

Hm.. My inner Prideshipper is coming out on this.. It might be a decent couple.. It's just.. Yuugi lacks some of the.. I don't know.. Calm cool control, I suppose.. That Atemu has.. He seems more like a kid than an adult *cough-that's-why-Becca-likes-him*, and it just seems Seto would think him a bit immature after they got to know each other better.. (#^.^# And um.. Maybe not mushy fluff ball, but he *could* be romantic beyond words.. It doesn't show, but if animé guys are even a *little* bit like real ones, it's there..)

Nah, Yugi's mature beyond his years, definitely after everything he's been through. And there has been scenes in the anime that shows his maturity. His "inner power". I think if they spent time together *off* the dueling field, Seto would grow to respect *Yugi*, not Yami as Higuchimon pointed out. After everything Seto and Yugi have been through, especially together, I don't think Seto would find Yugi immature. Far from it.

...I sounded suspiciously like Higuchimon right then. O.o

That cool calm control is one that, in my opinion, could turn Seto away from Atemu. It would remind him too much of being defeated. While Yuugi has that face and some of that confidance, there's still that *difference* to him. I personally can't see Seto dwelling on that with Yuugi around. Yuugi just cheers people up by the fact he exists.

True. But getting Seto to at least let Yugi be around him long enough for that to happen is going to be a challenge. Mr. Ice doesn't want anything to do with Yugi and his "geek squad". So, curious to see how you'll pull that off.

And just the idea of them being together (or worst : kissing) just gives me nightmares.

I like Anzu/Kaiba and such , but not kaiba/(a boy).

Yes, that *was* the point of the thread. It's not as if it's something unusual around here.

Keep an eye out for flying pork, then. Because there is *no* canon anywhere that says they *don't* get together. Just because Yuugi had a crush on Anzu when he was sixteen doesn't mean he didn't decide at a later point in life he preferred guys.

Not to you. But I happen to have an entirely different view of the matter. I think their *personalities* can make them compatible, and I don't much care about their body parts.

I don't think I've ever had sweeter inspiration to revive this idea. It could go quite sweetly with the Kisara/Anzu I've been poking around.

Funny, that's *exactly* what I think about Anzu/Seto: NEVER.

Hey kids,

don't start to argue *g*. To Everyone their own favourites!

Personally I think Kaiba/Yugi is a rather sweet pairing, if it is well done. I've come to like it more then Kaiba/Yami, because somewhere in the show I started to somehow dislike the Pharaoh (don't ask why, I don't know). Kaiba/Anzu is a pairing I find hard to imagine and I just found one story were it was presented perfectly.

I don't think the creator of YGO intended one of the characters to be homosexual, but heck some of them do a pretty good job in looking like they are! Don't they?

And for the sake of a fanfiction we can make them whatever we like (Although I think Kaiba is bi-sexual and is in love with his Blue-Eyes*lol*(Sorry but he truly makes a fuss about it*g*))

So nevertheless I just think Kaiba and Yugi are a really sweet couple, because they complete each other. Yes Yugi is the other half of Yami, but still I think he fits better to Kaiba. Oh and before I forget it: Kaiba respects Yugi, at least at the end of the show. (He had no problem admitting that Yugi is the true King of Games(not Yami)).

No really I like this couple, but there are not many stories about them being together *sigh*

I personally think Kaiba'd be the seme. He seems to like to control things, and when things go out of control we all know how he acts. However, I'd not read it myself because Kaiba metaphorically, to me, screams 'I'm an asexual' at the top of his lungs. I'm one as well, and trust me, it's HARD to get into a relationship and accept it, let alone be fluffy.

Hehe I pretty much like ANY pairing (YuugiXYami being my fav!!!) involving Yuugi in it =D

Seto and Yuugi aren't that bad of a couple...but in a way it is kinda like Puppyshipping considering they were rivals and stuff.
