Bellebelle3Topic: Seto/Kisara: Mizushipping What do you think of this pairing? |
VSSAKJIsn't it the closest thing to a canon pairing Seto's ever involved in? That's more than enough of a reason for me to accept it easily, though I've never read it myself. |
-KnifeGoesDown-There's something I just don't like about this pairing. It just doesn't sound right to me, I don't know why. *shrugs* I've never really thought about it. Maybe I should. |
Aramis-chanI don’t think I ever read it, and I’m not so eager to, but I think it’s nice. They’re having such a nice almost-romance while the world is falling apart around them and much more important things happen and they never get the occasion to talk for two minutes... And I love the scene in which Kaiba actually meets her for a moment. |
Aimi KitsuneI like it. Just- one question. MIZUshipping? Taht seems really randomly named, neh? XD |
Aramis-chanYea. Does it mean anything?I did read one, after all: strange as angels, by Ryuujitsu. There's also the "Companion-fic" nodjmet which is actually SetoxShadi, but it deals with the way Seto reacts to her dead, and it’s very Seto-ish. |
Zero-A.C.Seto/Kisara... to me it sounds wrong in some way, because Kisara belongs to her High-Priest and we all know that Kaiba likes to state he is NOT a reincarnation of some egyptian guy...So to me it sounds better if you talk about Seto/Blue-Eyes (Yes I know a Dragon...but Kaiba is a dragon as well, isn't he ;-).)Oh wait or are we talking about High-Priest Seto/Kisara? Because in the german version the High-Priest is called Seto...Then it would be all right... Crap! I'm confused! And I'm talking a lot of crap... It's late that explains everything... :-) Either way two of my favourite couples! |
WindWitchI think by 'Seto,' it's meant to be Priest Seto. Is he not called Seto in both lives? Or is it Set or something? |
Raining SilverI love this pairing! |

Lady PsychicOkay, I think I should clear some things up:Seto Kaiba x Kisara= Blueshipping High Priest Seto (or Set, Seth, or whatever) x Kisara= Mizushipping | #10 Nov 02nd 2006, 8:12pm

melodyz07I hate it. Because it is really wrong to me. How can we pair Seto with a dead person who lived thousands of years ago? If Kisara has anything to do with anyone well it is with priest Seto who is a different person than Seto. And we can see that when Yami returned to paradise at the end of the show, well priest Seto was between the persons who were waiting for him. Although, Seto might be the incarnation of the priest, he is a different person with a different life, experience, values... and same thing for Isis and Grandpa who had also past lives. And even so, I can't consider priest Set and Kisara as a couple, because think about it, he knew her like 2 days and she died. Ok I don't have anything against Kisara. But her destiny from the beginning was to sacrifice herself in order to give the blue eyes to the priest. It was meant to be like that from the beginning and not have a love story. And ok I don't deny that Set had strong feelings for Kisara but it is not for sure love because usually we don't fall in love with people in 2 days and they didn't even talked properly to each other. Kisara was unconscious almost all the time and Set was trying to deal with his own issues; like if he has to follow his father into darkness and kill kisara or refuse to do that. And Kisara was there to help him to take the right choice. That's all. And I'm sure that when Set became pharaoh, he fell in love with someone else and maybe even got married and had heirs for the throne. As for Seto and Kisara, well they met in the memory arc, but Seto wasn't really interested by her. I mean she doesn't mean anything for him. And even when she was being killed and after that, he was calm by all these things and didn't even try to do something. As for Kisara, well when she met Seto, she knew from the beginning that he was not the priest and she told him that she had not the time to stay and try to convince him that the world was in danger. And she left him to look for Set. So that's all. As for the blue eyes white dragon, for Seto he represented power and control. And he likes it for that. He never linked the dragon to Kisara and he will never do it because Kisara simply doesn't mean anything to him. And besides if Kisara must be somewhere, she must be in paradise a long time ago like Mana and Mahado (who sacrificed himself in order to be the dark magician). | #13 Apr 29th 2008, 11:53am

megabouncerGOD I ** HATE KISARA THAT BLOODY MOTHER***ING BI - Ok, calm down. I really HATE KISARA and this pairing. Reasons for hating KIsara: 1. she is a godmoding mary sueing ** 2. she pops up in the end of the plotline and suddenly makes everything better 3. She is the sudden canon pairing of seto, who, by me, will remain better if unpaired 4. SHE IS FUGLY WHY I HATE THE PAIRING 1. It doesnt make sense, and I hate Kisara. 2. Kisara is the ** BLUE EYES WHITE DRAGON. I THOUGHT THAT THE BLUE EYES WAS A BOY - IT LOOKS LIKE ONE ANYWAYS, IT'D PROABLY BE BETTER IF IT WAS. Seriously, it'd just increase Seto's dragon fetish (which is very large already.) 3. All of the above including the reasons why I hate Kisara. I AM AGAINST THIS SHIPPING. 4. Seto is hardly the romatic type anyways! | #14 Sep 26th 2008, 12:58pm

melodyz07Yes you are absolutely right. I don't understand why some people give so much importance to a character that appeared only at the end of the show in some episodes. Kisara is not even a main character. And I don't consider SethxKisara as a pairing. Hell what a pairing! They knew each other like only one day. They were connected by fate and this fate was that Kisara should die in order to give the spirit of the blue eyes to Seth. This way Seth will be able to become the new pharaoh (that was what his father kept saying to him). And that what happened. And then Seth continued on with his life. And for why Seto like so much his blue eyes well that's very simple... when Kisara died, the BEWD became the Ka of Seth, which means that Seth had the BEWD all his life. It is normal that he feels attached to him. As for Kisara, things happened in the manga differently and in the manga you understand more what happens. First, Takahachi wanted to show that even though the BEWD is big and powerful he is a creature of light. This is why he chose this week kind girl as his holder to show that. And she helped Seth to deal with his dark world and see the light, which means go forward in life. And this is what Seth did. And he said officially that there was a connection between Seth and Kisara (yeah of course, she was meant to die at that given time and give him the BEWD) but he never said that it was love. So stop imagining things. As for why Kisara sacrificed herself in the anime, well if you have watched the sub, she told Seth that it was her debt because she destroyed his village when he save her the first time. So she was repaying him. And Seth was touched by her gesture. This is why he was touched by her. But not more than that. So yeah I disapprove this pairing. | #15 Sep 26th 2008, 1:22pm

Aramis-chanI agree about the pairing not being canon, and I get rather irritated when people pretend it is (especially since I feel it comes with a double standard: if two character of the opposite sex show to care for each other very much, obviously it has to be romantic love, but if you say the same about two characters about the same sex, clearly you're just being silly and seeing through slash-googles! Imo, the relationship between Kisara and Seto is very similar to that between Atem and Mahado.), but that doesn't mean I don't like it. I also disagree about Kisara being a Sue: she has some typical Sue-qualities, but she's far from wrapping the world and the story around herself: she's important to Seto's story, and her own, of course, but that's it – in the end, she remains a minor character (and don't see what's wrong with the BEWD being female) I think it's interesting that the two of them barely knew each other: they became very, very important to each other in that short time (and I think it's easy to expand from there that they might have fallen in love: we don't -know-), but there's no saying what their relationship would have been under any other circumstances. I think it's a bit sad that chances are that she would never have become as dear to Kaiba is she hadn't died so soon after their meeting. And I feel that it never really becomes fully clear if the BEWD was so important to Kaiba because of Kisara, or the other way round. To me, it makes for a very nice, tragic story. | #16 Sep 27th 2008, 3:25am

melodyz07I totally agree with your first part of your comment. And of course SethxKisara is NOT a canon pairing. People can say what they want, but it is a fact. As for why Seto likes so much his BEWD, well it is not easy to state it because you have probably noticed that in the world of ygo, each character LOVES his main card like for example Yugi/Atemu his DM, Joey his BERD, Mai his harpy... and the list goes on. So without even talking about the history of the card, I think it is the concept of the show. And you are right about the fact that Kisara is not important to Kaiba because she died very early and Seth himself barely knows her. This is the reason why I really do think that Seto loves so much his BEWD because it became his ka for the rest of his life after the events of ancient egypt. So all the thing about Kisara tells only the origin of the BEWD and nothing more. The true history between Seth and the dragon and his relationship with him has never been told but I am sure that he got very attached to it like Atemu was to his God cards. And yes you are right the relation between Mahado and Atemu was absolutely the same than between Seth and Kisara (well at the end I mean). Mahado also sacrificed himself for Atemu but no one has never emphasized this fact because they are from the same sex which is kind of silly. I mean that the relation between Seth and Kisara could have been only friendship like Mahado and Atemu. And I think so because even after all Jou did for Mai, Takahashi declared them as only friends. So I am not surprised if it is the same things for Seth and Kisara. And even so, Kisara told Seth that she wanted to protect him as a debt of destroying his village in the past so it wasn't out of really deep feelings. She was only a kind girl who wanted to return the favour that Seth did for her. And in ygo, all the charcaters do that for each other so it wasn't something new. And Kisara wasn't the first who died, almost all the egyptian characters died also. So yeah See I don't mind Kisara but I don't like all this importance given to her; after all she stills a minor character. Takahashi put her only in the show to create a story for the origin of the BEWD. That's all. | #17 Oct 01st 2008, 1:04pm

Aramis-chanYou're right, that kind of connection, both between two characters (they sacrifice themselves for each all the time – though in most cases, they end up surviving it...) and between a character and their favourite card is very common in the series. When Seto Kaiba calls the Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon in the memory world, you see one light coming from Kisara, and one from the high priest, and Kaiba's the one to join them. I saw this as meaning that the first dragon is and stays Kisara's, but that the second one is priest Seto's, and maybe the third one Kaiba's, which is why the "ultimate" form only appears in the future. But I guess saying the BEWD becoming his Ka after her makes sense too (someone else I know thinks that Kisara is a dragon who sometimes takes the form of a girl rather then the other way round; I like that idea as well). Seto saving her doesn't happen in the manga though, so there's more room for speculating on her motivations there. I also like to play with the idea that Kisara played the role of Mokuba for Priest Seto: Kaiba connects the BEWD with that drawing Mokuba made for him when they were children, and that's one of the reasons it's so important to him. I -do- think Kisara was introduced to show that his love for the Dragon was -never- (in either life) all about its power, but has to do with his rarely shown human side, but it's not the only possible interpretation. And well, people just chose weird characters to like sometimes (one of the most popular characters in my newest fandom appears for a few minutes/panels of a long series. WTF?). Kisara's one of my favourites, and so is Ryou, and -he's- probably unconscious for most of his screen time. XD | #18 Oct 26th 2008, 7:28am

melodyz07Weeell... I don't know... these are your speculations. You' re right about the light that emerged from both Kisara and Seth when Kaiba summoned the ultimate dragon. Well I think it is because of their connection to the BEWD (Kisara was his former "master" and then Seth became his current possessor and Kaiba the future master of the dragon ^^). I think that since the characters are in the memory arc and not even in the real past, energies were exchanged between characters like for example when Bakura took a part from Kaiba's soul when this latter first arrived to the memory arc. hmmm... well I don't know if Kisara was like Mokuba for Seth. Their relation was very very short to even speculate anything. But I like the idea that maybe Seth saw her as a sister and felt the need to protect her. Why not... And I think so... I hate when people say that they might be love or something that way. It was way too soon. They didn't have a proper conversation. Maybe maybe they began to like each other but nothing more. But personally after my experience with the show, I think that it is more a matter of friendship and connection and nothing more. The destiny of Seth and Kisara was to meet in order for Kisara to give him the BEWD. So to be clear, the BEWD was meant to be for Seth from the beginning and Kisara was the sacrifice. That's all. I don't understand why people sees more than that. She died. That's sad ok. And Seth continued on with his life as the new possessor of the BEWD. He became the new pharaoh, probably fell in love and well lived his life. As for the connection between Mokuba and Kisara, well nothing has been hinted from that side... I mean I don't think that there is any connection there. It is pure speculation. Maybe when Mokuba first draw the BEWD to Kaiba when they were children,it was pure destiny. Kaiba was destined to become again the new possessor of the BEWD. And this why Mokuba draw the BEWD. Anyway, all in the show was about destiny. Everything happened for the goal to get Atemu back to the afterlife. Isis said herself *in the sub* at the end of the show that "dead people don't belong here and they should get back to the place they should be". Well I don't mind Kisara. But I don't like the importance given to her. She was just created to give a reason for the excistence of the BEWD. So her fate was to die to give the BEWD to Seth. All was about the BEWD not her. And this is why Kaiba didn't felt anything for her. She doesn't mean anything for him and that's logical because Seth has been in contact with Kisara for one day but has been in contact with the BEWD for the rest of his life. This is why the BEWD is so important for Kaiba and not Kisara. I think what is confusing for people is if the original BEWD is actually Kisara or if Kisara was just the holder of the BEWD. Well all Takahashi has stated is that the girl is not reincarnated. I think this fact is not important for him. We should not forget that the show is about monters card. So if the BEWD is Kisara or Kisara is somewhere in paradise well I don't know... and I don't think that matters actually for us or for Kaiba. For him the BEWD is his favorite card and the symbol of his power. I think that people think too much XD Even Takahshi has maybe never though about that ^^ I mean what was clear is that Seth was ready to take the BEWD by blood (killing) but Kisara gave it to him with the light of kindness, this why the BEWD is a monster of light. And well in the future the light of Kaiba is Mokuba. But really nothing more than that. | #19 Oct 26th 2008, 4:03pm

melodyz07Oh about the manga, well yes Seth didn't try to save her neither Kisara by the way, All what happened that the palace was being destroyed so Seth freed her from her prison and told her to go and to never get back agin. But unfortunately she was too late in her escape, Akunadin killed her before she had the chance to disappear. She was in the way. This is what happened in the manga. | #20 Oct 26th 2008, 4:10pm

megabouncerwhoa, you guys are more of a ranter than me! :O This is probably very late, but what the hell. Kisara may be okay for the Seto in the past - I understand - but for the Seto in the present? I can't imagine him going mushy gushy over some girl like that. And how old is she anyways? 15?! Plus, she's the fricking BEWD! The BLUE EYES. How can Seto fall in love with a DRAGON - namely, a monster? | #21 Nov 02nd 2008, 7:30am

LadyLunarPhoenixUmmm let's see if I remember Kaiba's AE name was 'Set' because he was named after the God. But was sometimes called 'Seto' with the 'o' replacing the japanese -sama... at least that's how it was supposed to be. Which would make Kaiba's modern name rather ironic because he was named the same thing three thousand years after the fact. Mostly people will say 'Set' or use the name 'Seth' to refer to the High Priest, and 'Kaiba' for well.. his modern self. | #23 Dec 06th 2008, 9:36pm

melodyz07Why Seto is named Seto and not Set in ancient egypt. That's simple. I have been studying japanese for about 5 years and I know why japanese call ancient egypt Seto "Seto" and not "Seth". Well among the japanese alphabets or sounds, there is no "t" but "to". They do not have alphabets sounds like in english ones. I am sure that Takahashi was meaning "Seth" but it is natural for them to say "Seto" because it would have been phonetically wrong for them if it is "Seth". | #24 Dec 08th 2008, 8:31am

LadyLunarPhoenixI've found over the years that Seth and Set are interchangeable even when not used in Japanese. Though you are right about the letters in Japanese. My mom is Asian and there is no 'v' in her language so she always says 'B' like 'Boat' instead of 'Vote' and so on. Or like in Princess Miyu, Larva's name is 'Larva' but the lack of an L makes it pronounced 'Rarva'. | #25 Dec 08th 2008, 3:38pm

Gold Phoenix Selreenayou thats bad? I 've seen the worst names (and pairings seriously there are some sick people out there), it's very disturbing.... *shudders* I however loves this pairing! Although it seems a bit odd when tou start to think about how kaiba says he's not a reincarnation, that doesn't mean he isn't. And kisara is the blue eyes white dragon, and kaiba basically loves the dragon so? ergo... |
melodyz07yeah but he loves the blue eyes as a card, as a dragon. He's s proud of it. But no more than that. He for sure doesn't have romantic feelings for his dragon. That would be too weird XD. Anyway, in ygo everybody loves his favourite cards so... |
Gold Phoenix Selreenathats true... but he stills has the flashbacks lol. |
melodyz07Well yeah of course since he was the ancient high priest. He did remember things that happened in his ancient life and that are related to the events with Zork. And since of course at that time he became the master if the blue dragons so that's natural... But I don't see the point... I mean Yami also had flashbacks... And Seto seems annoyed by these flashbacks more than everything. He never got emotional or something. |
Gold Phoenix Selreenayeah but still it's an interesting pairing in my opinion, it wouldn't be the first couple to take one thing and slightly twist it so it suits what people want, I think it has some some bases because the Jap Seto isn't that much of a jerk although he isn't emotional and stuff Kisara still lykd him when she saw him in the anime (sure she mistook him for Preist Set but that's beside the point lol). |
LadyLunarPhoenixI figure thats more because of the presentation. Because when they first meet in AE, he was still more innocent and pure. When he protects her, it's just as much about protecting someone that symbolizes a time he can't go back to. Is it love? There's a potential, a lot stronger then the one with Shizuka. Since unlike her Kisara doesn't have to be told to stay and watch someone lose. Though realistically Shizuka requires a 'lot' of emotional development and care when writing. |
melodyz07weeell you see since there are no canon canons in ygo, so we can still argue till tomorrow about that matter XD Anyway, each one has his own opinion and his point of view about couples and the love life of the characters. Personally, I don't like Seto/Kisara for many reasons beside the fact that this is never gonna happen since the girl is dead centuries ago and well ok they met up in the memory world and that was expected because Yugi also met Mana and Seto didn't care particularly about her. And that still means that she's dead. Kisara is kind and all and she's maybe helping him as the blue eyes card. But nothing more than that, Seto will probably fall in love with people who are actually alive. And I am sure that Kisara (well if she's really the blue eyes. I mean till now these are speculations) wants from him to be happy in his life and to fall in love with someone. ok this is my humble opinion XD |
LadyLunarPhoenixYeah, it's the sad aspect about her. Unlike everyone else from the AE, she, Mahaado, and Mana are never reincarnated. They're eternally trapped as monsters, but unlike Mahaado and Mana, she's stuck as a beast. |
melodyz07Mahaado nor Mana are neither humans ^^' even though they have the aspects. They are just...monsters cards As for Kisara, well maybe her true form is the dragon. I mean maybe she was the dragon who took the form of a girl. I mean in the anime, it was said that the dragon was some kind of God, so it could have taken the form of a human (Kisara) especially that this girl comes from nowhere. Well anyway that's just my speculations and it really doesn't matter anyway because in the present monsters are just cards. |
Gold Phoenix Selreenayea exactly she is technically dead, but there are some really good fanfics (Idk if on here) that have kisara reincarnated, but still with lyk the soul of B.E.W.D kind of thing. But you have to be careful with that because it can get too OOC and silly... I don't lyk the pairing of Shizuka and Kaiba... it doesn't quite fit... better than Anzu tho I guess sort of in a way... lol I don't really lyk Anzu... |
melodyz07Yeah but these are fics (I mean I can put whatever I want in a fic)... I am talkng CANON. |
Gold Phoenix Selreenaoh my bad lol. I thought it was just pairing as anything. As a canon one I don't think so really... only Priest Set and Kisara not Seto KAiba and Kisara. |
melodyz07Well that what I was meaning. As a canon, Seto Kaiba and Kisara can never work. |
Gold Phoenix Selreenaor can it? lol jks... |
melodyz07well no it can't be *haha I wonder where all this conversation is going on ^^' it is becoming really weird*XD |
Gold Phoenix Selreenawho knows... melodyz...who knows... lol dun dun dun duuuuuuuun dun dun dun. |
melodyz07^^ |
Gold Phoenix SelreenaEven though it can't work, do you lyk the pairin (you probably already said somethin about that but I'm 2 lazy to look lol) |
melodyz07hmmm... well... I am completely against Kaiba/Kisara because I can't understand how a dead woman is paired up with Kaiba beside the fact that it is obvious that he doesn't care about her. But I don't mind Seth/Kisara because I can understand why some people like this pairing... even though personally I don't like it but not as much as Kaiba/Kisara. I don't understand why Kisara is given so much deal. I mean they met like 2 days and she died. And that's all. He probably continued on with his life. Well that's my opinion. |
Gold Phoenix Selreenayeah they didn't know each other for that long, although they did they have lil' thing when they were younger (Set and Kisara I mean) but sometimes it's just fate lol it does happen... but what about if Kisara was ressurected or reincarnated? Lyk I said before you got to be careful with those but I read a really good fanfic (that i don't think is on here) and I think it was very in character and it wasn't really rushed (their relationship). But I think Kisara died again lyk similar in the past and that was sad T.T. but yeah I don't like it wen people say Seto and Kisara shud be together if Kisara is still dead, y'know? (this was a rather long post) ^^ |
melodyz07Well yeah me too I don't like when people say that Seto and Kisara should be together. Who said that anyway? and how it is even possible? This is why I don't like this pairing because it will never happen. That's all. I don't understand why Seto should stick with a girl dead from centuries and who even doesn't have feelings for her. Well...actually he doesn't care XD As for Seth, well of course it was fate. Kisara was meant to die in order to give him the BEWD. But fate never meant love. Fate is meeting with people that will play important role in your life (like a friend, a family member...) and change something in your life. And of course Kisara played an important part in Seth's life and destiny and he remained for sure gratful for her but well I don't see what that has to do with his love life. People should be a little bit more realistic ^^'... when a person dies, you continue on with your life...that's all and that what happens. As for being reincarnated, well if she was well we will know that from the show XD right? But she's probably like Mahado and Mana... in the card games or maybe in paradise or something... I don't know... But by the way, you probably have watched the Egyptian season. well if you have noticed only the persons who have reincarnated in monsters cards (well that happened? ) and not as persons have been able to see Yugi and the others and these persons were Mana and Kisara (who saw Kaiba). As for the opthers who have reincarnation as humans (Seth, Isis...) they haven't been able to see the others. I want also to apologize for the long post. Gomenasai ^^ By the way, it is obvious that each one of us have her own opinion about the matter and since no pairings in canon in the show, so we can argue till tomorrow XD but well that was fun |
Gold Phoenix Selreenanever!!! I'll shal convert you lol. I did notice that about the people who could see yugi and co. I didn't think much of it at first... I don't like it when people try to say that Seto and Kisara are a canon pairing, cause lik you said it could never happen, but I think Set and Kisara is hinted to be one but thats me ^^. It's okay about the long post lol. wakatta |
melodyz07Well why do you want to convert me? You like your couples and I like mine XD But I am happy that you think that you feel annoyed when people say that Seto and Kisara are a canon couple. Because they are NOT. So thanx to state the obvious. As for Seth and Kisara. I told you... I understand why some people like this pairing. And of course I don't mind that. But as for me, the girl died before anything even began so it is over. So there is no pairing. And that without saying that maybe they weren't meant to love each other (otherwise she wouldn't have died. What happened was meant to happen). They were connected because of the role of Kisara. They cared for each other but that doesn't mean anything. I mean if you look at the characters of ygo, they all are always ready to do ecerything for their friends. So yeah... and you will tell me that noo they liked each oher and you know all that. I am not saying they didn't liked each other. Maybe they did. But she died and he moved on with his life and loved someone else. This is my message that's all. I don't like when a character is put on with a dead character, what's the point? I am sure that Kisara wants from him to be happy and to love someone. And Seth didn't seem so affected by her death (I mean after Zork died and everything) so he's just fine. It is not like "nooo I can't live without her. Come back!" and all that. Of course he cried when she died because he was touched by her behavior (I mean who will not be touched by that girl). But after that he was fine and more than fine even. *ok I think that none of us will give up XD so can we please stop it here XD XD XD Like I told you before, since there is no canon pairing in ygo, so each one of us is free to like the couple that he wants. I am very convinced of the couple that I like so that's all* And sorry for the long post! |
Gold Phoenix Selreenaum i was being sarcastic..................................... ._. |
