hobbits on the islandLOL, it's the best. Her expression really completes it. Right...I just had a rather random thought/theory so I'm going to post it... In the pilot, one of the first things you see [besides spastic Jack/fat Vincent] is a white sneaker hanging from a tree. Then in the White Rabbit, Jack has visions of Christian Shepard and I was thrown off by the random white sneakers he's wearing instead of... uh, dead people shoes. He doesn't seem like the sort of person to wear sneakers to his own funeral. This is vexing me greatly because I don't know if it's some inside eastereggy type thing that I should know or if they're completely unrelated. I just thought his choice in shoes was a bit odd. | #551 Mar 27th 2008, 2:16pm

spotpcOthers have commented about the constant references to shoes in the show. But I see one thing wrong with your theory about the shoes. Damon and Carlton have clearly stated that there was no clue in the pilot. It was just a rumor. While it's certainly strange that Christian was wearing cross trainers, I don't think it has much to do with the shoe glimpsed briefly in the pilot. Thanks! :) | #552 Mar 27th 2008, 6:59pm

magiieLoL .. I have cousin who buys all the DvD's and I just borrow 'em and burn 'em. Saves money, and I get everything that she gets. As for my most shocking moment ... when Charlie let himself die. He SO could have gotten out of that stupid room. But NO! he had to die because Desmond was getting those stupid visions and he wanted to protect his friends. SO STUPID ! ... i miss Charlie Pace. :'( | #554 Mar 31st 2008, 3:50am

hobbits on the islandk I'm a bit confused.. Is Locke Jacob? Or do we still not know who Jacob is? *season finale* Time travelling bunnies, heck yes. That freezer room was wacked out [would have been a lot more convincing if Ben's breath was steaming..] I think I've seen enough of Juliet's cleavage to last me a lifetime. | #559 May 30th 2008, 8:14pm

spotpcFeeling a bit critical today, aren't you Hobbits. To answer your questions, I believe we're supposed to think that Jacob is still a mystery. Locke came back from the island using a fake name to contact the other survivors. He had no one else to turn to that he could trust. I have to admit, time traveling bunnies are awesome. Considering you've lost patience with Juliet's cleavage, maybe I should change my avatar. Though you can't really see her cleavage in this pic because her arm is in the way. | #560 May 31st 2008, 8:05am

hobbits on the islandI wasn't referring to your avatar, just Juliet in general. All her shirts tend to do that... it's tiring to see. But you make a good point about Locke, I hadn't thought of that before. | #561 May 31st 2008, 10:51am

hobbits on the islandSo about the magic freezer room... I thought it looked kind of ridiculous. Maybe I'll change my mind when I learn more about it, but it was nothing like the hatch. The hatch was mysterious and kind of scary. Freezer room was this wheel thing that you turn to move time. And Sawyer jumped out of the chopper... that was sad, very good of him, not something the old Sawyer would do. I shed a tear. On the flip side, looks like Skate's a shoe in now with Sawyer and Kate being separated.. thru time and space.. romantic, but kind of run-of-the-mill. But romantic. And Locke (Jeremy Bantham) is dead! What the stuff! | #563 Jun 09th 2008, 6:46pm

spotpcI agree they could have done a better job on the freezer room. And why was it frozen anyway? I mean, wouldn't that be an impractical thing to have on a tropical island? Is it to keep the transport device from firing up accidentally? You really have to TRY to move the island. I remember back in season 1 when Michael said that Sawyer was either a hero or suicidal. I think he's gone from being slightly suicidal to being a true hero. And the hero always gets the girl in the end. So Skate was definitely the way to go from the beginning. We all knew it, right? I mean, just look at my new avatar... For those who are interested, I posted my new Sayid vid on YouTube last night. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k77yRj_Y32o | #564 Jun 24th 2008, 8:56am

hobbits on the islandI miss ** Sawyer. He was more fun. Yeah the freezer room. Ben's breath wasn't even fogging up, that's when I rolled my eyes and thought 'This is way too scifi for me.' | #565 Jun 24th 2008, 10:03am

.Lost-Blue-Phantom.Ack! I can't remember the last time I posted here. Juliet looked dumbfounded when Sawyer swam up on the beach with no shirt. It was pretty hawt. | #566 Jul 16th 2008, 4:33am

.Lost-Blue-Phantom.OMG. I just remembered something. It may have been discussed before, but I haven't been here in awhile, and I don't read old posts. How are they supposed to get everyone back to the island if Kate is on probation (or however you spell that word, spelling isn't my forte) and isn't allowed to leave the state? | #567 Jul 16th 2008, 4:39am
|

spotpcDumbfounded? Actually, I thought she looked drunk. That would make sense considering the bottle of rum she was holding. "But why is the rum gone?!" LOL Kate can get special permission to leave from a judge. She'd have to explain why she needs to go, which won't be easy considering the circumstances. But it's possible she could get an understanding judge who will believe her story and grant her request. Of course, that's assuming she'll even agree to go. She didn't seem too fond of the idea when Jack mentioned it earlier. | #568 Jul 16th 2008, 9:00am

hobbits on the islandSince when has Kate given a betsy about following the law, anyway? It's not like she can go to a judge and ask to leave the state so she can go back to an island that isn't even supposed to exist, meaning she lied to the entire world. | #569 Jul 16th 2008, 3:00pm

hobbits on the islandBy the way, Phantom, I love the dp. I saw the Dark Knight only a few hours ago and I'm still reeling over Ledger's amazing performance. Sorry that was a little off-topic :P | #570 Jul 18th 2008, 9:18pm

spotpcShe doesn't really care about the law. But she cares about Aaron, and for his sake she'll follow the rules. She's already proved that she'll do that. Admitting that she lied and risking being vilified in the media is better than leaving without permission and going back to prison. | #571 Sep 06th 2008, 7:22am

Red Bess RackhamI can't remember if I've discussed this or not yet, so I'll just jump in. I hated the freezer room in the finale there, and the whole island moving thing, lol. And by "hated" I meant that I loved it b/c it was LOST, but I really thought it was completely terrible and I was actually laughing so hard I was almost crying when Ben started turning that crank/wheel and THAT'S what made the island disappear. My mom came in and asked what was so funny and I had a hard time getting enough breath to tell her. I don't know why I found it *quite* so gut-splittingly hilarious, but it just seemed so entirely ridiculous. The freezer room, the wheel... ya. Ya, exactly spotpc. She's shown that prison is the very last place she ever wants to be, so she'll do alot of things to avoid going there and being locked up. At this point, we see that she is dead set against going back, for Aaron's sake. Clearly that's somehow going to change based on what Darlton has told us, but I wonder how...? Also, why did Locke come back, I wonder? He worked so hard to stay on the island... and then he comes back to the mainland to, what, wanr the others? Of what? I can't wait until Lost comes back on. :D I have too much fun theorizing. ~Red | #572 Sep 29th 2008, 8:36am

spotpcMoving the island is a compelling plot twist. But what a tacky set... They could have done better. I wonder how Kate will react when Jack says they have to take Aaron back to the island with them. Especially after her dream where Claire told her not to do that. I assume Locke came back because something very bad happened on the island and he couldn't stay there anymore. Maybe he wanted everyone to come back to save the island. | #573 Oct 04th 2008, 9:49am

Red Bess RackhamYa, I have a feeling Kate is NOT going to be pleased. Especially how she talked to Jack by the airport there, in the continuation of the "We have to go back" season 3 cliffie. Hmm, that's true. Seems like a very Locke-like thing to do, is to get everyone else back to save the island b/c somehow he can't do it on his own. But somehow he died... Bit of a random slight subject change here, but I believe I recently read an article where a journalist/editor/something was speculating about the last two seasons of Lost, and how he felt we should be preapring ourselves for the idea/reality that Darlton very likely won't be tying up the show into a neat little package, and that there's going to be a lot of unanswered questions and loose ends hanging. I think at this point, that's defs true, only b/c they've laid out SO many mysteries and brought up so many questions, they'd need another four seasons of solely answers and filled in backstories of everyone in order for us to have everything answered. What do you guys think? And is there any specific question (or twelve) you can think of right now that you'd want to see answered? ~Red | #574 Oct 07th 2008, 10:58am

hobbits on the islandYeh, but she'll go back. This is Jack we're talking about. If he says they have to go back, they're goin back. I don't mind that they won't answer everything, just a lot of main burning questions. I think the fans have a bit of say in what goes on in Lost, and they have to please us to keep airing :] My only hope is that it doesn't end up like that Series of Unfortunate Events series, where in the last book the writer makes no attempt to answer the millions of questions he piles up in the other books. WASTE of my time. If I had to pick questions I'd want answered they would be; why Rose says in the premiere that the sound the monster makes is so familiar, how the Black Rock ended up in the middle of the Island, what the whispery-thingies/people are, who Jacob is, and why John Locke and Christian Shepard are connected to the island (And could that have to do with why the island wants Aaron) Does the new season start in February again? Anyone know? | #575 Oct 07th 2008, 6:29pm

spotpcI would prefer not to choose questions that I'd like answered. I trust Damon and Carlton. They've done a great job so far and all the scheduling stuff we complain about hasn't really been their fault. Whatever they decide is best, I'll accept. Even if they never tell us what the monster is. :P | #576 Oct 11th 2008, 8:25am

Red Bess RackhamAgreed about the Series of Unfortunate Events. I would get headaches trying to figure out all the mysteries and trying to find clues etc, so when the 13th and final book came out, I eagerly snatched up, thankful that I would finally get all the answers... and there was none. Not even one. I was SO irritated and disappointed that I'd put so much effort into reading it when it was so not worth my time!! For Lost, I hope they answer as many questions as they can, though I know they probably will leave a lot of things hanging. There are so many things I want answered I don't think I could narrow it down, lol. I do trust Darlton tho, and even though I know I disagree later, lol, I'm ok if they don't answer every single question. I am burning to know Libby's backstory tho. If that's the only thing they answer I'll be happy. New season = JANUARY 21!! S4 DVDS = DECEMBER 9!!! ~Red | #578 Nov 27th 2008, 11:07am

spotpcWow, it's been a while, hasn't it? Did everyone catch the premier? I heard some stupid spoilers the other day. I'll make them really vague so no one else gets slapped like I did. Somebody told me that the ring lady has some connection to Daniel. I also heard that Charlotte's condition is more complicated than we think. Honestly, I could believe the one about the ring lady. But Charlotte is obviously suffering from some sort of radiation poisoning, possibly resulting from the rough entry into the island's airspace or working at the power station or the time jumps or all three combined. You might ask... Why isn't that happening to anyone else? It's true that some people are more sensitive to radiation than others. But I think it has more to do with Charlotte having been to the island before, as indicated by Daniel saying to her early last season, "You wanted to get back here." What does everyone else think? |
|
hobbits on the island:O I am in shock First, Daniel told Charlotte he loved her and then she bloody DIED! That was heartbreaking! .. but she had possibly the greatest last words ever. Hopefully they'll do some more time-travelling and he'll find her, like she mentioned. Though obv. it didn't work the first time. |
|
spotpcAm I a jinx or something? Why do all the characters I hate die? Is it just that Damon and Carlton secretly hate them too? Or is there some other force at work? I can't help thinking that Charlotte's last words will have some significance. After all, we know that there was something special about the Dharma chocolate. Could it be that it's the key to everything? |
