Topic: The survivors...(characters/cast)
Here you can talk about your favourite cast members/Characters on the island, and your least favourite i suppose as long as no one gets too mean. ;)

Here are my top 5 favourites:

1. Sawyer/Josh Holloway: Man the guy is so sexy it hurts! and his sexy drawl...guh!*dies*

2. Desmond/Henry Ian Cusick (?): I have a thing for scottish accents and he argues with jack so i like him, oh and he says brotha' so...yeah.

3. Hurley/George garcia: Who doesn't love the guy,i mean, he's so funny even when he's trying to be serious.

4. Charlie/Dom Monaghan: He is merry from lotr and the reason i started watching this show.

5. Sun/Yunjin Kim: The only female cast member that i can tolerate for more than 5 minutes at a time!!

Bottom Five:

1. Kate/Evangeline Lilly: Sorry, i just can't stand her. I tried to like her, i really did.

2. Jack/Matthew Fox: Man the guy is so straight and narrow its frustrating and he is mean to Locke. He and Kate should get together.

3. Ana Lucia/Michelle Rodrigues: Wow Ana lucia is one mean b***! Poor, poor Sawyer...

4. Sayid/Navven Andrews: I can't listen to his fake accent without cringing...other than that he is ok.

5. Walt/Malcom David Kelly: Kind of annoying and a bit of a brat to his dad. Also did that whole lets-burn-the-raft thing.

Honourable mention: Ethan Rom...the guy is so cool and scary but you cant exactly like the guy as he was an insane murderer/kidnapper and plain ol' FREAK.

i hope no one found this to be too mean as it is just my opinion and is referring to the characters and not the actors themselves as i have never met them and have no idea what they're like.

i'm sorry but i have to disagree with you my two favorite characters of all are jack and kate. but you are right they should get together. i also love charlie and hurley but i can't really stand sawyer, i'm sorry, but he's such a jerk. i mean okay so he looks good, what other characteristics is good about him except that? remember beauty is only skin deep. sun is also cool. she seems really nice. she's like the only one of the main characters that does not have a wacked out past, i mean other then her family, that doesn't count.

so...

Top Five:

Jack/Matthew Fox

Kate/Evangeline Lilly

Charlie/Dom Monaghan

Hurley/Jorge Garcia

Mr.Eko/ Adewale Akinnouye-Agbaje

i have to go now, i'll write my reasons and least favorite five another time.

Okay. I'm like the opposite basically. lol.

My favourite five:

1. Jack/Matthew Fox - His hero-ness bugs me but I love Matthew Fox to pieces and Jack's whole background story is so awesome.

2. Charlie/Dom Monaghan - His funny character is so awesome and I find the whole Charlie/Claire thing adorable. Plus Turnip Head is one of my favourite scenes ever.

3. Boone/Ian Somerhalder - You could hear my heart break when I heard he was going to get killed off. I think he's cute and a great actor and I squee everytime I find out he comes back as a guest.

4. Kate/Evangeline Lilly - She once was a favourite but I kinda didn't like it that Kate ran away. Ugh. That killed me. Anyways, Evangeline's Canadian (extra brownie points with me) and I think she's a good actress. I love Kate's background story because during parts of it I can relate. The only reason she isn't higher is because that whole thing with Dom was really disturbing.

5. Ana Lucia/Michelle Rogrigues - I don't know why, but I love her character. I don't like Michelle that much, she actually bugs me but her character is just so awesome and complicated.

Unfavourite five:

1. Locke/Terry O'Quinn -OhMyGod. I want JJ to kill him off. I hate him so much with a burning passion. Locke bugs me. I mean, the actor is great, but Locke is so annoying. I think he is a bit crazy too, living down in the hatch all the time and obsessing over that stupid button. Plus, he killed Boone. That's a nono.

2. Michael/Harold Perrineau - I don't like his voice. His voice bugs me a lot. Plus the whole friendship thing ruined Jin and Sun for a bit, I didn't like that at all. Plus, he's such a jerk to Walt sometimes.

3. Shannon/Maggie Grace - She's too stuck up. I actually danced around when I saw her get shot, but then stopped 'cause I felt sorry for Sayid.

4. Walt/Michael David Kelly - geez, what a brat. I'm glad he got kidnapped. That's all I have to say.

5. Sawyer/Josh Holloway - he looks like a sleezebag and the personality is just so annoying. If I met someone like that on an island, I'd probably strangle them within a week.

I repeat what Morgan said about not being too mean and such. I hope no one bites my head off:P

hehe i KNEW everyone would be *gaspshockhorror* she dislikes both Kate AND Jack?!?! yes and please people be nice, its been civil so far and it'd be nice to keep it that way. Oh and my reasons may not be very good but they are my reasons. Maybe my view will change once i have seen more of the 2nd series, as of now i have only seen the first 4 episoedes. ^_^

--TOP 5 but really 6 LIST

1)Boone- I loev him. Even though he's gone he will always have a place in my heart. Plus he was f-in HOT.

2)Charlie- He's just sweet.

3)Jack- He's just wonderful. Always helping people, so they feel comfortable.

4)Clair- Don't even know why. I just do.

5)Mr.Ecko- Mystery...He stopped the bad thing.

6)Hurley- He's so lvable. ^_^

--BOTTOM 5 LIST

1)Locke- He's just plain creepy. *shivers*

2)Sawyer- Scum. 'Nough said.

3)Sayid- Annoys the hell out of me. Way to violent. I don't like his accent either.

4)Michael- Just don't like him. He never thinks things through, has a temper and is mean to Walt.

5)Shannon- Because she went out with Sayid when she should have been with Boone. They were perfect for eachother.

My fav characters are:

1/Ana-Lucia

2/Sawyer

3/Shannon

4/Charlie

5/Hurley

My least favs are:

1/Boone

2/Danielle

3/Locke

4/Jin

5/Sun

And I only really strongly dislike one character with a passion and that is Kate. I can't stand how manipulative she is. Girl needs to make up her damn mind and choose between Sawyer and Jack before they both go after Ana-Lucia. ;D Though, actually, I wouldn't mind if they did.

HA. Interestin. O.K. Here goes

Top five

1.Hurley- Dude! HOw could you not love him

3. Charlie- He's a bloody rock god! I also love his tattoo, even if it is really Dom's

4. Sun- Smart and likable.

5. Mr. Eko- Just so... mysterious

Bottom five (I really don't actually hate any of them)

1. Jack- It's a love hate relationship. I mean, he always has to be the hero and Ugh!

2. Locke=creepy

3. Ana Lucia

4. None

5. None

Here are my top 5 favourites:

1. Charlie: He's the reason I watch this show

2. Hurley: Nobody can hate this guy

3. Micheal: AM I THE ONLY ONE?

4. Sawyer: He's just interesting

5. Vincent: What? I have a yellow lab

Bottom Five:

1. Locke: I pray for his character to die. He is practically ** on Charlie. I will cheer on his death scene.

2. Ethan Rom: His character almost killed Charlie. I actually did cheer when Charlie shot him.

3. Shannon: I cheered for her death too

4. Boone: I admit his death was slightly upsetting. But I will never like him after his flashback.

5. Walt/Malcom David Kelly: Kind of annoying and a bit of a brat to his dad. Also did that whole lets-burn-the-raft thing.

This is going to be tough. I have a few I love and a few I despise passionately and the rest are all love hate relationships, lol, from one episode to the next. I suppose I will attempt to narrow it down...!!!

Top 5 - Favs

1. Hurley - he's so funny. He has some of the best lines.

2. Charlie - Well, it's Dom, who I love, and he too has a lot of the best lines. And the Charlie/Claire thing is *so* adorable.

3. Jack - he's the hero. He has some moments when he bothers me, but overall, he;s such a good guy, I love him.

4. Jin - Ok, let me explain. I think he was very misunderstood and the language barrier was an issue. He's loved Sun all along, he just had some trouble expressing it. And then when he wasn't taling to her, I think alot of it was his culture and upbringing instilled in him. He's a good guy, really. I like him.

5. Sun - I like her. She's nice and calm.

(Really, this # 5 spot could also go to Claire or Kate as well, but Claire's screaming in some episodes gets a little tiring and Kate's indecision b/t whether she loves Jack or Sawyer is slightly tiring (though interesting). I guess they're #6, LOL. )

Bottom 5 - Least Favs

1. Walt - I CANNOT STAND HIM. Lol. By far he's # 1 disliked on my list. BY FAR. Lol. I was *so* happy when he got kidnapped. I felt bad for Micheal, but I was so happy I didn't have to watch him anymore. He's weird, he's annoying, he's a brat, he burnt the raft... I would love it if he never came back on the show.

2. Danielle Roussau - I so spelt that wrong, lol. Anyways. She annoys the heck out of me. I don't like the twist of her torturing Sayid, I think she's completely psychotic, she stole Claire's baby (ok, I'm not totally heartless - I understand she wanted her own child back, but...) and a million other reasons. I just groan and desperately want to change the channel when she shows up. I would love it if she never ever appeared on the show again. URGH. Lol. She id DEFINITELY high on this list.

3. Ana Lucia - I think everyone either loves to hate her or just hates her, lol. I just hate her. She's just so mean and I get tired of her being so snappy all the time. She might grow on me, but right now she just bothers me.

4. Sawyer - Ok. He's *such* a jerk, he's a piece of crap, he's so mean to everyone - admittedly, though, he does have a handful of good moments (when he told Jack about what Jack's dad had said in the bar to Sawyer). I don't hate him all the time, lol.

5. Micheal - He's not all bad, mostly. He's just very intense. He flys off the handle quite easily. The fact that he blows up so easy at everyone and seems to jump conclusions is why he's made it onto the bottom five list. I don't hate him, I just don't really like him. I either like or feel neutral towards everyone else, lol.

Honorable Mentions: I like Mr. Eko, though I don't really have any reason to.

Dishonorable mentions: Ethan (CREEP) and Artz (freaked me out when he died, but he was super annoying). I would have added them to my list, but they've only appeared in like two episodes and ya.

Other: I like Sayid most of the time, but sometimes he really bothers me/makes me sad (example: when he was torturing Sawyer). I don't mind Kate, Claire, and Shannon (her and Sayid together... *sigh* - even though she was shallow she redeemed herself in my eyes). Pretty neutral in reference to Boone, Rose and Bernard (though I BALLED my eyes out when Boone died).

Lastly, I have a love/hate with Locke. He either makes me feel so happy to be watching him b/c he's being sweet and understanding and cool, or I totally want him to stun gun himself b/c he's being completely psychotic, mean, weird, or whatever. And I have seen like two episodes of season 2, so if "Locke hate" is springing from season 2, I know nothing about it, LOL.

Ok. I think I'm done now! Sheesh that was a huge reply. Lol. (And I don't think I was too mean!!! Just my opinions!)

I like Kate, and Charlie, and I used to like Locke until he thought Charlie was still on heroine. I still like Jack for the most part, and Claire is okay.

I am adding mr eko as i just saw up to episode 10 and wow his story is so sad and depressing and wow there is just soemthing very strange yet comforting about him. He has this bizarre way of being calm and collected then smashing peoples heads in with rocks in an instant.

The whole reason I started watching this show too was be cause Dominique Monaghan was in it. I kind of thought Sawyer was okay, but my feelings about him change a lot. Same with Jack and right now Locke.

My faves

Sawyer - I know alot of people hate him, and that's exactly what he wants. But he's like an onion. He has layers. Judging him too quickly is a mistake.

Kate - She might come off abrasive sometimes but only because she's a little impulsive. She's got a good heart and she follows it.

Sun - She's just awesome. If she hasn't won your heart yet, just give her more time.

Sayid - Who couldn't love this guy? He's smart, cute, and a perfect gentleman, even when he's wielding a sharp object.

Charlie - Despite recent events, he's still one of my faves. Sweethearts like him are hard to find, so it's worth it to overlook a little flaw like a drug problem.

My Un-faves

Locke - Don't even get me started on this crazy wannabe cult leader. I don't know if it's because he's a self-proclaimed island mystic, or if it's because he's trying to undermine everybody just for kicks. But I just can't stand this guy.

Ana Lucia - If she weren't a paranoid psycho, I might appreciate her guts. But my real problem with her is that the paranoia stems from fear and cowardice. Only cowards love guns as much as she does.

Shannon - Her life was one long blonde moment. Can anyone deny that? Her only saving grace is that Sayid liked her so much. That's the only reason I'm sorry she's dead.

I like:

1) Claire- I dunno she's sweet and her and Charlie just go really well

2)Hurley- You gotta love Hurley, anyone who doesn't is crazy

3) Charlie- Him and Claire are so sweet, I felt so sorry for him when he kept having all those dreams and him and Claire split in "Fire+Water", plus he's the only Brit on the island

4)Mr Eko- He seems really calm and even though he's really religous hes a good guy

5) Sawyer- His accent, his dimples, his body, his evilness- Phwoar!! Need I say any more

I hate:

1) Jack- I used to like him in Season 1 but in Season 2 so far I've hated him

2) Locke- Same as Jack really- I actually laughed when the hatch door went through his leg in "Lockdown"

3) Michael- I felt sorry for him in Season 1, now he just bugs me

4) Ana Lucia- I didn't like her when she shot Shannon. But then again she was just looking out for everyone. And I sorta warmed up to her a little when she broke down finally in "The other 48 days"

5) Jin- I don't hate Jin, he's just one of my least favourite characters

Alex is an ally for now. But she may not be willing to go far enough. She may not be willing to kill the people who raised her in the end. She can help our heroes along, but they'll have to finish on their own.
#27 Dec 18th 2006, 5:04am
Red Bess Rackham
True. I see your point. On the other hand, she seems to be not ok with everything they are doing/have done. Maybe she wouldn't go so far as to kill one of them, but I definitely think she can/will be a strong ally. She helped Claire get away from Ethan, and she seems to want to help Kate and comp. out of thier current situation.

I agree with you that she'll be useful in the near future. But everything she's done to help them up to now seems like childish mischief to me. It could be that her motivation is coming from a phase of teenaged rebellion rather than actual conviction. It wouldn't be such a stretch, would it?
#29 Jan 09th 2007, 5:12am
Red Bess Rackham
No, that's true, it wouldn't be a stretch. I can see your point. She could (in theory) just being do it (helping Claire, Jack, etc) to be defiant. I think I'm still sticking with the idea of her being a help, but I definitely think your idea is plausible.

I'm wondering who can help our heroes the most. Alex or Juliet. Alex has the freedom to work secretly. But Juliet has the resources of a leader. Which is more useful now?
#31 Jan 13th 2007, 7:23am
Red Bess Rackham
Juliet scares me. I don't know how to take her. She SEEEEMS like an ally, but I just do not trust her. And I will be very, very put out if anything romantic comes into pkay b/t her and Jack, unless they can make me really trust Juliet. I'm putting my money on Alex being the biggest ally right now, as like you said she can work secretly. And like I said, I DO NOT trust Juliet.

~RBR

#32 Jan 15th 2007, 10:21pm

Now that I think about it, Juliet has the makings of a great long-term villain. Even more than Ben had. He was too forthcoming with his plans and too open with his methods. He reminds me of a comic book villain that way. But Juliet knows how to be conniving without giving away too much. She is more tight-lipped. So she'll probably last much longer than Ben did.
#33 Jan 19th 2007, 4:43am
Red Bess Rackham
Exactly! Exactly. Ben is the classic villian, and Juliet is that one who you don't trust, then she does something to make you trust her, and then she turns on you. That's how I feel about her. I don't think I'll ever fully trust her.

~RBR

#34 Jan 22nd 2007, 11:04am

It seems trust is at a premium these days. Even those you thought of as your friends can just as easily betray you. Even if Kate and Sawyer do come back for Jack, there's still a good chance that Juliet and her comrades will do something terrible to him before they get there. If Jack does kill Ben, Juliet may have to take action in order to establish her status as leader. Will Jack be prepared to pay that price if it means Juliet will be able to maintain peace between the tribes?

Good point. If they leave Jack behind, will he ever be able to get back to the others? (Not The Others - he's with them now, lol - but the others, as in Locke, Charlie, etc). And what about Sun, Jin and Sayid? Aren't they stuck on Other island right now too?

HELLO. I'm looking for a Jack/Jate fan to help some of us sawyer lovers. We need someone to set a challenge and judge who is winner. Any challenge goes there are 3 contestants, the winner gets Sawyer. PLease post if u wanna be the renoud challenge leader

My top 5

Sawyer: oooooooooo so HOTT!

Locke: He goes againt JacK and doesn't follow him like sheepy's.

Charlie: He just tries so hard to take care of clair and although he can be a prat sometimes I just love him.

Desmond: He physcic , he says Brotha', hes scottish, he's got sexy hair, he a little un-hinged. "I crashed your plane Brotha'! It's real, it's all bloody real!" I LOVE HIM!

Ben: O.k so hes a baddie but all the mystery and just when u think it unravels there's another twist. He's like a magnet for mystery and madness.

My bottom 5

Jacko: Just can't stand the guy, he's getting better in season 3 but before that he was like "I AM GOD, ** OFF IM RIGHT U R WRONG COS UR NOT ME!"

Micheal: I do not hate him for the whole shooting people thing cos he was doing it for his son and I dont think its fair to hate him for that I dont know what I would do and he didnt really have another choice. But he flys off the handle and loses his temper. He's also getting better but still iritates me.

The new guy: I dont remember his name, but I remember him being mean to Desmond for like NO REASON. And he whines about not going then doesn't wanna go when Locke asks him! Bloody hell.

Ana-Lucia: She was such a ** to poor poor sawyer cos u no its just not bad enough that there a hole in his shoulder we have to throw things at him and put him in a dirty hole (hello infection) then kick him with her nasty boot! He nearly dies **!

Hibbs: OK well I know hes a flashback dude but the whole telling him that frank was sawyer jut cos frank owed him money hes awful. BAD PERSON.

Ah, maybe they had. I don't remember tehm getting back to camp, so I just thought they were stuck out on Other island as well. B/c didn't the Others take back the boat?

Well, flight815surviver, I'm not totally sure what is you want, but it sounds like the Skate fans are writing stories and you want a Jate fan to judge the best one? The Others did take their boat so they have to walk back to camp. I guess you're right. I don't remember them arriving back either. And that's not something they would gloss over. I guess they're still on the road coming back. When that incident first happened, I laughed at Sayid because his plan flopped so badly. He looked so ** off about it too. He stayed calm as usual, but it was obvious he was mad.

Lol, exactly. I love Sayid.

Ya, I couldn't remember. I remember Sun shooting that lady, and so I assumed the Others took the boat back, and I could not remember at all if they ever got back to camp so I just assumed they were still on Other island. Maybe Kate and Sawyer - if they can escape - will run into them!? Hopefully no one gets shot (ala Shannon) Lol.

Have you guys all been hearing this stuff about how the writers are going to finish the show at 100 episodes?

No, they made it to the camp. Seeing as how Sayid made it back to go on that quest to the Pearl, Sun and Jin obviously made it back to camp.

You're right! I remember that now. So they did get back. I loved how Sayid saw right through Locke. That seems to be his power, knowing when people are lying. But Locke was so obvious. That idiot couldn't hide the invisible man. LOL

I haven't heard anything about that rumor. 100 episodes? At 26 episodes per season, that's almost 4 seasons. I heard they had plotted through five seasons. I guess either way the show is more than half done already. It's sad to think of the show ending, but it'll end with the characters getting rescued of course. So in a way, you're always wishing for the end because you want them the get rescued. It's weird.

#43 Jan 30th 2007, 5:35am
flight815surviver
I heard that the acters were upset that they were only getting a 5th of the pay the casts of desperate housewives get and so it will all end with a motion picture so it should be about 4/5 seasons and a movie. It'd be fab to go watch it all end on the big screen.
#44 Jan 30th 2007, 1:08pm
Red Bess Rackham
I originally heard the rumor about the movie, but I haven't heard anything more since. I've read several interviews lately with cast and crew/writers, that the cast is upset that they just get so little airtime, and thier characters have so little part on the show b/c the cast is so big. Fans are begging for some answers to all the mysteries and want more of the character stories that made the show popular. The writers said they've always wanted to go out on top, and not drag the show out for too long (they refer to the X-Files alot for a show that was dragged out too long - I never saw it, tho, so I couldn't agree or disagree). They said that by giving themselves an endpoint (episode 100 or w/e), they would able to write out the full story arcs for everyone and conclude the series properly.

I personally would love to see them do the 100 episodes and a movie. And though when I first heard that they were going to end it during season 4/5, I was like, "NO! THEY CAN'T!" But now that I've thought about it, I would much rather have it end on top like that, with the cast getting rescued, rather than being drug out or concluded poorly.

Damon L. also said that each season has a prominent theme. Season 2 was the hatch, season 3 is the others, and season 4 will be something else. I will go try and find these articles (I'm part of a Lost fan group and I get news e-ailed to me everyday). I'll be back to link or paste them as soon as I find them.

Ah, I knew it wouldn't take long. Ok, I'll post the one article and link the rest, so hopefully they work.

Lost Shocker: The End is Near!

In what is sure to go down in television history as its most shocking twist, Lost is about to go somewhere that no still-hypersuccessful show ever has: away.

The time-tripping serial's producers announced at press tour today that they are in talks with ABC about establishing not a season but a series finale date — as they describe it, an "end game" — to ensure that their baby goes out on top. "From the word go, it always felt to me that [if we ran] somewhere in the neighborhood of between 90 and 100 episodes... we never [would have] to do a bad season," says co creator Damon Lindelof. "We knew Season 1 was going to be the introduction, Season 2 was going to be into the hatch, Season 3 was going to be the Others...

"I don't want to tell you what Season 4 is gonna be," he continues. "And then there was a shortened wrap-up season that would put you somewhere in the neighborhood of 100 episodes. At the end of season 4, we will have produced 93 hours of the show, and I imagine that would be very close to where it would end ideally."

Ideally from a creative standpoint perhaps. But from a financial perspective, ABC had to have hit the roof over Lindelof and Co.'s decision. Well, maybe not had to. In fact, if anything is more surprising than the execs' desire to bring Lost to a close while it's still vital, it has to be the network's reaction. "As opposed to them saying, 'Fine we'll bring on new [producers],' they said, 'Well, when do you think it should end?'" Lindelof reveals. "Obviously, they want the show to go on as long as possible. But all that we can say is, 'There's a show with us running it and there's a show without us running it, and if you want the show with us running it, this is when we think it should end.' And like any negotiation, therein lies the rub.

"But," he adds, "I think [ABC president] Steve [McPherson] has begun to embrace the idea that the show needs to end, and now the question becomes when. I would anticipate that announcement would come sooner rather than later, because you don't want to make it in a way that seems like it's reactionary." In other words, he says he doesn't want Lost to come off like "The O.C. saying, 'We're going to end [the show!' No, you got canceled."

If he and his colleagues hadn't taken action, Lindelof can well imagine what the long-long-term future of Lost would have resembled. "They could produce a sixth or seventh or eighth season, but would anybody be watching?" he asks, though he clearly has an answer in mind. "The show would be so miserable by that time. Was it really The X-Files anymore when David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson weren't on the show? For me, The X-Files wasn't about 'Have aliens invaded?' it was about Mulder and Scully, a skeptic and a believer. And once that element of the show was gone, the show was over. So we don't want to produce those episodes of Lost. And we're not going to produce those episodes of Lost."

Lindelof believes such a gutsy move will only boost the show's popularity. "I think it will bring a lot of the audience who left back. To say like, 'I was wrong. They are going to give me [answers]. Whether I like it or not is yet to be determined.' But I think the questions the audience is asking is not, 'Will the answers they give us be satisfying?' It's, 'Will they give us the answers at all.' And that's a very good question to be asking." — Additional reporting by Ben Katner

While I can't speak to the salaries of the cast members, I do agree with the decision to end the show. They're absolutely right about X-Files. It should have ended three years earlier. I'm just glad that the studio is going along with it. It would have been terrible if they had been stubborn and tried to get a new creative team to take over after the original people left.

The problem seems to be that some mysterys are being dropped. or im just not smart enough to keep up. I know that Jacks daddy appering was a hallucination but what about the body? It must've got on the plane or else y would jack and the coffin be. If so where did it go???? why was he wearing trainers?????? Oi the confusion.

He was wearing trainers? The body must have been on the plane. Jack found the coffin lying in the jungle and he got really upset when he saw it was empty. I figured it was probably jarred open during the crash and thrown out into the jungle. The body must have fallen out and got dragged away by polar bears. The obvious explanation is always a good assumption given no other clues.

that makes a lot of sense. See I couldnt quite figured out jacks reaction. I thought it might be "**! I lost my daddys body on a freaky-deaky island" or "im just so tired I must break something" or just plain "I NEED ANGER MANAGMENT"
