Topic: Keepin' it Going: Help with Overcoming a Dead-End Story
So, as I've been writing, I generally tend to write a chapter, edit the chapter, outline a little, and post. I don't always do that, and I'm trying to get away from it, but find that the encouragement I receive from readers tends to keep me motivated as a fan-fic author.

Problem is that there are times that I'm on a roll with a story and all of a sudden the tension dies in the story, the frame of mind wanders, the flow leads you to finish it without including other details, or something that makes you suddenly lose interest in what you're writing. What do you all do when this happens? Does it happen? Do you trudge on? Do you scrap it? Do you edit and repost? What else?

I walk away, if a story isnt going the way I want it to or it takes a turn I didn't expect I walk away from it for a awhile. I find that the stories I am really behind will be those that nag at my subconscious until I go back and feed them what they want, which is usally my attention. If I can walk away and not feel guilty I walked away, it was probably for the best, both for me as a writer and for the reader.
