Topic: Spoilers Galore
Okay, I understand that the Runaway Bride airs tomorrowish. If you actually have had the privilage of seeing it, you may speak of it in this forum ONLY. Sorry, peeps, but I don't want any spoilers in the Season Two forum. Sorry.

I might pop my head in once and awhile just because of stupid curiousity (thank goodness I'm not a cat). So *waves you all away* have fun!

*sigh* it was good. really good. Some parts seemed a little off but I thought they did a really good job with sort of transitioning Rose out, and it was.....interesting? nice? relieving? to see some of the dark hints to the Doctor come out in David Tennant. Sometimes It seems like the Doctor just got over the Time War when he regenerated, but the little hints of...callousness along the way are a good reminder of his past and that he doesn't live by the same rules as the humans he associates with.

Seeing some of that with Jack in Torchwood too. Maybe it's a time vortex thing? Sort of instant 'all of creation' point of view?

Also thought it was a nice touch to have someone refuse the Doctor, because one: he really is too arrogant than is good for him sometimes, two: there really can't be many people who can keep up with him and his life for long, and three: I happen to enjoy angst. *shrugs* put him through a wringer ^.^

I'm going to go gibber in glee a bit more.

Yeah, I liked how we saw some dark parts of the Doctor. Kinda makes you believe more just how much Rose had an influence on him and how much she began to hold him together. And let's face it, the spider was quite cool. As were the new additions of bauble grenades:D

I really like it. Esp. the points where Donna tries to talk to the Doctor about Rose. You get to see just how much he's hurting from the loss. BTW Who all thinks that he was going to say "i love you" at the end of Doomsday?

I also like the little xmas tree ortements. when he pulls them /and/ the remote out of his pockets and says: "they're bigger on the inside." LOL =D. Personally, I like that Donna didn't go with the Doctor. I've been doing a bit of research on Martha Jones, and I think she'd be a much better replacement for Rose than Donna would have been. Donna was too much of a damsel in distress if you ask me. And she blamed the Doctor for everything!!!! "Pockets!"

I think the ep was very good. Quite funny, and you saw a lot of emotion from the doctor. I'm glad Donna isn't the doctor's new assistant. Martha is so cool and brilliant. I think she's doing a great job so far. ;)

Yeah, Martha reminds me a little of Sarah Jane, who is in my Doctor Who companion hall of fame with Romana Two. But I really didn't like Donna. I think the Doctor should shy away from red headed companions. There was Turlough, who tried to kill him, Mel, who was the most awful companion ever (Peri was better), and Donna. I WISH Donna would run away. Run far, far away. The episode itself was okay though, with a good plot. At least it wasn't exactly ON Earth. Or on a stupid Earth-related, human populated space station. But I'm getting off track.

Haha too bad for you then when you find out she's going to be companion for Series 4. But Martha Jones is great and I'm going to miss her (although she's going to appear in Series 4 in some episodes)

Yeah, and she's gonna become a fixture in torchwood for a bit. I get the feeling they're gonna make something big happen in the finales. Oh, and MAJOR news, if you didn't already know in 2009, there won't be a fifth season of dr who, there will only be a few specials. David Tennant's taking a break to do other acting, and then coming back in 2010.

That's stupid that they're only going to do a few specials in 2009. It would wet your appetite and then you'd have to wait ages for another 'special' episode.

Why don't they just leave Doctor Who alone for 2009 and focus on making Torchwood the best it can possibly be. The first series of Torchwood left me with mixed feelings, I definetly think that ther is a lot of potential in the Torchwood idea but I felt that the first series failed to deliver this.

If we really need to see the Doctor in 2009 then why don't they just have him make an appearance in the Torchwood series a couple times.

But they might be better made, if they are at least an hour long (to fit more potentially good ideas in) and if Steven Moffat or any other current writer writes them (not Russell T. Davis).

I agree. While Torchwood was good, it has some good episodes but hopefully the second series will improve on this. Besides, I don't think they'll make any more Torchwood beyond series 2, but it is a good idea.

I wouldn't like that. It just wouldn't seem right the Doctor just appearing in Torchwood. I always appreciate it more, when Jack just mentions something about him every so often.

I really like torchwood, simply for its edgier writing, characters and plotlines. Of course, I agree that it could be built on, but I doubt that it will only run for one more series. It got way too high up on the ratings scale to be stopped that soon.

Oh, and before Torchwood began, Davies said that he would never have the Doctor featyre in Torchwood, simply because he is the main character in what is a family tv show, and he couldn't have him in it without having lots of small kids wanting to stay up to see him in what would be a very unsuitable programme. That's why only he assistants will cross btween them.

Yeah...I loved the end of Torchwood when Jack runs off after the Doctor. It's brilliant, really, because you know he's there, but he's never pictured. I agree with JennMel, you really couldn't have the Doc show up in person. Besides, Torchwood is about how people do what the Doctor does without a TARDIS and vast knowledge of the universe. About all they have in common is alien tech and an angsty streak a mile wide :P

...and that angsty streak is why they are loved:)
