Topic: Best House/Cuddy fic?

There used to be a really good on on here but I went back to read it again and I couldn't find it so my best guess is that it got removed or was taken down. Anyone feel like posting links to their favorite 'Huddy' fics?

A lot of fabulous House/Cuddy writers post their stuff on the House/Cuddy LJ community (www.livejournal.com/community/house_cuddy). Also, a House/Cuddy archive is being built and there should be a link on the LJ also.

MoonTart, you might be refering to the story Tempered that used to be up. I know I was disappointed when that was taken down. It was written by the incredible Cincoflex, and is also posted on the LJ.

-Detox Revised by abbieg has, in my opinion, the most accurate portrayal of what a HouseCuddy relationship would be. My all-time favourite.

-Addiction by allthingsholy is just beautiful (ffn)

-Anything by Morgan72uk for all your HouseWilsonCuddy desires

-Remedy by Gomes has so much potential it'll knock you out of your chair. If she doesn't update this soon my head's gonna explode. (quote pun intended)

-A Taste Of Salt by PWCorgiGirl. Simple and stunning.

-A Monday Afternoon by asdasdasd, the best feel-good fic (esp if you're having a downer day, it'll cheer you right up)

-Letting Go by Len, sad, but so worth reading.

-Anything by Laura (romanticalgirl on LJ) if yo're a fan of somewhat 'dark' theme

'Tempered' and 'Tempered II' are the best I've read, period. Anything by Cincoflex rocketh much -nods-

They're over at the archive aswell! That place is my new haven lol

I've got 2 up there, but they are the crappest things imaginable next to practically everyone out there. Cinco especially

I'm curious - what do you think makes Tempered the best fic? I've read it, and I like it just fine, but I've heard people rave about it when honestly I think there are more accurate portrayals of the House-Cuddy relationship out there. I think it's well written, and the plot is interesting, but I am curious as to why you think it's the *best*. (I'm not being critical, promise, just genuinely intrigued.)

Also, I'm glad you like the archive. :) It makes me positively giddy to know people are enjoying it.

I think one of the reasons I love Tempered so much IS because of the plot. A lot of fabulous stories have great dialogue, character interactions, etc. and there are truly awesome one-shots out there. However, sometimes it's really refreshing to read a long, complicated story with an ongoing, fascinating plot. I also enjoy the rare aspect Tempered has of charting the House/Cuddy relationship over a long-ish period of time in detail. Again, I really really like one-shots, as well as shorter, less involved fics that focus on character relationships and not events. (On that note, may I recommend Enlee's Stay or Leave? It's a truly wonderful portrayal of the House/Cuddy relationship, concise and poetic, saying so much with so little. Brilliantly crafted.)

So yeah. Plenty of writers right realistic, poignant, funny portrayals of House and Cuddy, but Tempered just seems to go that extra mile. It pulls you in and doesn't let you go. Seriously.

That clear things up at all, Catherine? ;-)

ETA that it also doesn't hurt that Cinco has got the sex scenes down pat. Like whoa.

I'm new to this board and I have really enjoyed the Huddy fics I've found. I tried to find Tempered over at the archive but for some reason it doesn't seem to work for me. Is there a direct link to get to the stories in the archive? Just wondering. I've pretty much read all the fics I have been able to find and now I'm going into DT'S! Someone help a girl out!!!!

The HouseCuddy archive has been down for awhile. There are some people working on it and hopefully it will be back sometime this summer. If you're willing to spend some time looking around the housecuddy comm (www.livejournal.com/community/house-cuddy), you can find a lot of great fanfiction.

My fave House/Cuddy fics:

Special K - Brine224 (The most realistic fic ever after Season 2 with medical terms and all)

Three's a Crowd - shadowfood (Very plausible for a Cuddy pregancy story and awesome characterisation and banter)

We Always Find Each Other - The Madhatter2 (Awesome one shot detailing Cuddy/House relationship over the course of the years. Some very nice moments in there)

Eight Simple Rules for Dating Greg House - Ijemanja (Absolutely hilarious)

Trouble on the Horizon - borgprincess (Excellent writing and some great Cuddy/House interaction)

Lucky Number - DeengoBlue (short but conveys so much meaning. It's set after "Who's your Daddy?")

Eight - earthdrago (Very entertaining and interesting fic that explore if House/Cuddy were dating secretly)

The paradox of self sacrifice - flying cat (Cuddy/House is explored in depth here, very realistic, and some great smut at the end)

That's all I can think of right now.
