sinisteredgirlyeah...me too.Sakura and Syaoran in Tsubasa is just.....suffocating.Though I LOVE this pairing, It is still so damn annoying if you see Sakura and Syaoran staring at each other and saying crappy things like "I guess we'll smile together forever." which is present in Tsubasa. (don't get me wrong I absolutely love this pairing in CCS, not in Tsubasa.) |

KipchaWell, I would definitly have to say CCS. I watch probably the first 5 episodes of Tsubasa, and I admit, I stopped right there. They just changed the character too much, and I didn't want to tarnish the memory of the two in CCS that were so kawaii! I just don't think Tsubasa is my thing. |

0o Moon Calf o0:P I can actually comment on things like this now since I'm reading TRC (took me too long, ne?)! On this debate, I would defiantly say that I still prefer CCS, but only because I prefer the characters and the overall storyline there; TRC seems more shallow. Sakura and Syaoran in Tsubasa is just.....suffocating. Actually, when it comes to the SxS pairing, I'm the exact opposite, like it better in TRC. I've got nothing against the pairing, but it bores me in CCS, and I've never really cared for it; I TRC on the other hand, I don't mind it so much. It might just be that I don't have any alternative pairing preferences with TRC to get in the way, but truthfully I think the pairing is more tolerable there than in CCS. Though if it really does get so sappy as Sinisteredgirl describes, I wouldn't know yet since I've not yet read a great deal of the series. :) They just changed the character too much I don't think they're supposed to be the same. CLAMP wasn't trying in any way to replicate CCS or any of its characters, I think the fact that many of them share names, appearances, and a few (though hardly all) personality traits is supposed to reflect TRC's theme that there can be people in other universes, dimensions, etcetera, which share many qualities (appearance and name for instance), but are not the same person. The theme's actually not so uncommon with CLAMP anyway, in CCS they experimented with the idea of identity with Yue and Yukito who share the same body and, to quote Sakura, are "identical" in many ways, but yet are entirely different people. |
