I don't know all the red rangers have their plusses and minuses. I'd have to see Rocky as the red ranger again to let you know, but I think he was fine.

I think Rocky added a little more humor to his time as a Red Ranger!

You're right. I've been watching some of the older ones recently and I never realized how hilarious Rocky is. I love his facial expressions they're some of the best.

He may have added hilarity, I agree totally, I just think he could have been a little more serious.

I think he did have his moments of seriousness. I'm rewatching a lot of the old stuff so, memory is going for me right now--which isn't always the best thing--not when it's like 10 years old (last time I really watched Mighty Morphin).

I dunno, I kinda liked Jack..one of the more independent red rangers in my opinion...If i really had to choose a red ranger, I'd have to say Alex...though technically he wasn't really the red ranger...
#11 May 21st 2007, 6:54pm

Alex as the worst red ranger?

And Jack was independent, which was cool.

I like Rocky.

He was so cute and funny.

I think Shane was the worst red ranger.

But...Jason absolutely the best red ranger ever (IMO)

Why do you think Shane was the worst red ranger?

Rocky was hilarious.

Jason was awesome.

I have no special reason why i don't like Shane...it's just...i don't like him that's all (LOL). I prefer Hunter than Shane or maybe Conner from PRDT.

But yes, i agree with you...Jason was awesome!!

Oooo..i miss him so much

#15 Jun 12th 2007, 8:03pm
Stalker.Buny
I personally didn't watch Ninja Storm, so I didn't see much of Shane...I saw a very episodes, and I thought Hunter was the red ranger, and then I found out he wasn't and I got confused...I think Hunter was meant to be pink...lol...jk...Conner was a good red ranger, though I hear all the time that he wasn't. I think it shows more towards the end after he's had time to mature. Jason was probably among the best red rangers, just because he was so hot. I think I just got a ONESHOT idea...nice...anywhoo, Jason is gonna be my husband, so its all good.
#16 Jun 12th 2007, 11:13pm
GracefulCrane
GrumpyK : "Jason was probably among the best red rangers, just because he was so hot"

probably? how could you say that?

Jason Lee Scott was ABSOLUTELY the best red ranger in PR history. I have no doubts about that and one more thing for sure...Jason Lee Scott is gonna be MY HUSBAND very very soon (LOL)

Gosh, i LOVE him so much :)

#17 Jun 13th 2007, 2:39am
JuseaPeterson
GracefulCrane: Okay so you prefer others over Shane, that's cool. I just think Shane is one of the rangers who isn't given the credit he deserves.

GrumpyK: When I first heard about NS I was a bit confused because of Hunter/Shane and Blake/Tori. But it all makes sense now.

I could just see Hunter in pink, just kidding. That would be funny though.

Sure Conner had his ups and downs, but I think he was good too.

Rocky, TJ, Carter, Shane, Conner and Jack are the ones I hear the most about being bad red rangers. And I don't know why.

Jason was probably among the best red rangers, just because he was so hot

I wouldn't say that's the reason, but more like a bonus feature.

I think he was one of the best.

Hmm. The worst red Ranger?

I haven't watched a lot of Power Rangers since towards the end of Turbo after the hand-off, so this might be a little dated.

I'd have to say it was Tommy. He's practically had just about every ranger color so far, and I think they should have just stuck to one. White.

My favorite ones would have to be Rocky and Jason.

Jason becaus he was the original Red Ranger nad kicked arse, and Rocky because he was a funny son of a gun.

Of course, this could and probably is biased based off the fact that I didn't watch it much aisde form the couple of episodes I caught of PRIS.

#19 Jul 04th 2007, 12:11am
JuseaPeterson
Tommy is definitely not one of the better. I saw lots of episodes where Tommy was supposed to be leader and he did nothing.

Watching episodes with Rocky again show me just how funny he is.

Black into Blue
Okay! I've got it. I think I've finally figured out this whole "reply" thing. Haha!

Anyway. I dunno about the whole Rocky being a bad Red Ranger. The way I see it...

Rocky was ripped off. In most of the other Power Rangers seasons, at least from the ones I've actually caught and watched, the Red ranger was the leader. When Rocky was the Red Ranger, Tommy was the leader, so he wasn't really given the same advantages and disadvantages as the previous and other red rangers to follow.

Sure, he still had the same color as them, and this is just my opinion, but it wasn't the same situation with him and the other Red Rangers. Plus, he was the funny guy. Funny is cool.

#21 Jul 06th 2007, 10:18pm
JuseaPeterson
That's cool.

No Rocky did get shoved into the back for Tommy. Everyone did. Except his pink friend. But I don't know it's quite frustrating when people say Rocky was horrible. I saw him pull into leadership mode when Tommy was there so...

#22 Jul 07th 2007, 10:39pm
Lavonne Adams
Rocky was put on the back burner..but he also stepped up alot of the times as

well as the others..esp when Tommy, Kim and Rocky was sent into the book...

Adam, Aisha and Billy made sure they took care of the situation from the end!!

#23 Jul 07th 2007, 10:54pm
Black into Blue
Yeah. Every Ranger did step up when the time called for it. I haven't heard anyone say Rocky was horrible, but just the thought of someone saying it frustrates me.
#24 Jul 07th 2007, 11:15pm
Stalker.Buny
I agree, every ranger did step up when it was called for, and I can see why Rocky got ripped off being the red ranger...It is quite possible that all the red rangers were good in their own way, and none of them were bad...though I stick by Jason as the best red ranger ever.
#25 Jul 07th 2007, 11:21pm
Lavonne Adams
Jason was the 1st..and he deserves his props!!

Rocky was the 2ns and he had big shoes to fill and he made his

own mark as the Red Ranger

Jason was focused..and Rocky was the joker..but when it came

down to take care of business..he put the joking to the side

until business was taken care off!!

#26 Jul 07th 2007, 11:27pm
Stalker.Buny
I totally agree..looking back, Rocky was a great red ranger, it just doesn't always seem like it because he gets compared to Jason..but he is totally different, and has different leadership qualities..which isn't bad.
#27 Jul 07th 2007, 11:29pm
Black into Blue
Yup. I totally agree with you, Lavonee.

I dunno. I like how they make the characters different in all the seasons of PR.

I mean, it would be kind of boring if they kept recycling the same personalities, just with different people playing them.

I think that in the beginning of PR, they wanted to take people who were different when they became rangers.

Jason was serious, while Rocky was the Jokester. Zack was outgoing, while Adam really wasn't. While Trini did voice her opinion, Aisha, I think, did it much more to make it one of those things people really noticed about her.

Woo. I'm getting off topic here. Lmao. But, yeah, just like GrumpyK said, the Red Rangers all had their different quialities.

#28 Jul 07th 2007, 11:36pm
Stalker.Buny
I agree, it would have been boring had they all been the same type of ranger. But in contrast to that, did they make them a little too different?
#29 Jul 07th 2007, 11:39pm
Black into Blue
I don't think so. It gives relief to the other rangers personalities for a while so maybe they could use them again. Or maybe mix and match personalities of characters for Rangers in new seasons. That way, people aren't saying " Well, he's just like Jason, " etc. I think they did good with stretching out and really bringing out a characters personality.
#30 Jul 07th 2007, 11:47pm
Stalker.Buny
I see what you're saying..but there have been times I watch it, and it almost seems as if the character is too good to be true. I dunno..I just think maybe they should have had more selfish times, times when they weren't under a spell or evil when they thought about themselves, to me personally it would have made their personality more like a real person..but thats just me
#31 Jul 07th 2007, 11:51pm
Black into Blue
I totally see what you're syaing. And I kind of agree with you in a way, but I think there is only one problem to that. I personally think, if the character hadn't been under a spell or whatever, then they wouldn't have become a Power Ranger. Power Rangers are chosen for their personality and how much they care for the world and all that jazz, so a selfish one probably wouldn't have made the save the world person they're know for being.

I mean, unless they spend a WHOLE lot of time bringing that character out of that selfishness or other bad qaulities, then they might have a chance at being a ranger in the next season or something. It's not like someone can change over night, in most circumstances, but they could have gotten away with it. Lol.

#32 Jul 07th 2007, 11:56pm
Stalker.Buny
I see what you're saying, but I don't mean like a selfish person all the time. Like they have times when they don't wanna save the world because they have a date, or homework, or a family function. It seemed to me they were all too eager to drop everything and save the world..granted, sometimes it seemed like they didn't want to because they were busy..I just think sometimes they should have put up more of a fight, and act like they want a normal life..unless of course they didn't want a normal life..
#33 Jul 08th 2007, 12:01am
Black into Blue
Oh okay. i get it now. I agree with you on that. But, I guess that's something they come to just live with. I would have thought they knew what was going to happen.

- The Rangers are minding their own business. Homework, dating, etc.

- They get called into battle. Fight the ground troups and monster of the day, morph.

- Defeat the monster. It growns.

- Call zord, own the monster and return back like everything is normal.

But, I guess that's just the price someone pays when they know the fate of the world, galaxy, or other things are laying in their hands.

You guys brought up a lot of good points.

I do think that the differences are good, it makes for an intersting show.

And as for them being too good, I think that's mainly with MM rangers, the first ones. They seemed to be made to be perfect you know?

Later on in the other seasons you get more of those types who do things that you wouldn't have seen the first rangers. Like Eric.

#35 Jul 09th 2007, 3:28pm
PinkSnowTiger
yeah, I totally agree. Though I think that they added alot of things between the lines, that you have to be older, like a teen, to really understand that makes them seem not so perfect, know what I mean?

Yeah, I agree. There was a lot of things that I could tell that my younger sister and nephew didn't get that me and my other younger sister understood.

What the Hell? How could you hate Jack? He's one of the coolest Red Rangers out there.
#38 Jan 06th 2008, 12:58am
Superspyder CJ
They're all awesome, and I can't see why anybody would hate them. Here are some reasons why:

Rocky was hilarious. He should have been the Blue Turbo Ranger...instead of that brat Justin...

TJ was the first black Red Ranger(a milestone in PR history), and my personal favorite. Sure, he may have destroyed the Turbo Megazord, but he did it to save the day. That's what counts, right? Plus, he's just so awesome! He, Rocky, Carlos, Ashley, and Cassie should have had the whole season of Turbo to themselves!

Moving on...

Carter was...okay.

Shane was pretty cool. I mean, being a skateboarder AND a ninja? I gotta give him serious props.

Aside from the ridiculous power-ups, Conner made a good Red Ranger, despite sometimes being a "dumb jock."

And Jack was the most independent. He just liked to do things his own way.

'Nuff said,

CJ

See I don't hate any, there are some that I like better than others, or such like that.

Rocky was funny, I never appreciated him the first time I watched it. I love watching him now. I actually like Justin though, and besides Steve Cardenas couldn't have come back for Turbo, so...

I love TJ, he did so much. I agree with you, who cares that he destroyed a Megazord, I bet all the other rangers would've done that had they been in his shoes. I consider them one of the best because they were doing it without having thier hands held like previously. Plus without any question or time for anything they all took off into Space and TJ made contact with Andros and kept his team alive.

I think Carter was a very brave one. He was very good at what he did.

I love Shane. He was cool, and he was an awesome skateboarder and being a ninja is awesome, so...

Conner had his moments, some good, some bad. He learned.

Jack was independent. He isn't my top favorite, but he is pretty cool.

Hi there, JP(mind if I call you that?)

So, thanks for the reply. It's about flippin' TIME someone stood up for TJ!

Sorry about the comment on Justin, he's just a little...annoying at times.

You want my opinions on who THE worst Red Ranger is? Leo Corbett.

I mean, what is the deal with Lost Galaxy? It seemed pretty stupid to me.

Anyway, gotts go.

Thanks for the reply,

CJ

On the BEST Red Rangers topic:

You're all right. Hands down, Jason is THE best Red Ranger, with TJ Johnson and Mack Hartford close behind. He was a great leader, a fierce fighter, and so much more.

Ya'll already know TJ is one of my faves...

On Mack...I think he brought a level of angst to the show. I mean, finding out that you've been a robot for your whole life? That's GOTTA suck.

Who are your favorites? Let me know,

CJ

#42 Jan 08th 2008, 11:19pm
Superspyder CJ
I agree. Tommy made a better White, Green(even if he was evil at first), and Black Ranger than he did Red.

He may be one of the greatest, but that doesn't mean everybody has to put him on a pedastal, do they?

Think about it,

CJ

#43 Jan 08th 2008, 11:22pm
JuseaPeterson
Sure, that's fine. :)

I never really liked TJ, but that was when he first came in and I just dismissed him without really thinking about it. So, when I watched Space, I liked him. And then rewatching Turbo, he was awesome.

That's okay, I see what you're saying about Justin, but at the same time rewatching him, he doesn't bother me as much. And you know what's weird is that Justin is the same age as Tori. Go figure. The characters and the actors.

I haven't really seen all of LG, so I can't completely comment and agree or disagree. I liked what I saw. It was kind of cool that they were traveling in Space and such and then found the lost galaxy and then escaped it. And from what I saw, Leo was pretty cool, but as I said I have to see more before I can say for 100%.

I know. Jason, TJ, Mack are all awesome. Jason just did so much and you can tell that he's got so much going for him. People are naturally drawn to him and he's able to be a good follower. That's part of what makes a good leader.

I know. Mack finding out about the robot thing was horrible, I mean I don't blame him for freaking out and not doing anything because then he figured it was programmed, which makes sense.

My favorites: Jason, TJ, Andros, Shane, Mack. I think they might be the top five. Do you want me to explain more on why?

I know. Tommy just is not the best leader. I hate the Tommy worship. I know I certainly did not make an alter for him. He's a good fighter, a good guy and a good ranger, but I don't think he's the best. I hate that people say he's a legend. One line I completely hate from TJ (sorry), and I don't think that Tommy should have all that focus on him. Sorry, Tommy is one of my least favorites.

Sure, I love talking about Red Rangers.(Not in that way...I'm a guy!)

I don't know what it is about Lost Galaxy, it just seemed...whack to me.

The Tommy thing...I agree, 100%. It was a real pain in the ** having to listen to "Oh, he's so great" in Forever Red.

Here's the bio on my Red Gaia Ranger:

Name: Christopher J. Young

Age: 16

Hair: Reddish-brown

Eyes: Blue

Height: 5'10"

Personality: A BIG Rangers fan. Friendly and outgoing, but totally serious when it comes to saving the world.

Ranger Color: Red(of course)

Weapons: Firestorm Saber, Salamandra Battlizer Armor, Gaia Blaster

Zords: Red Dragon Zord, Red Pheonix Zord

Hobbies: Collecting Power Rangers merchandise, saving the world, reading comic books

Element/Powers: Fire. Can run at superspeed, leaving a trail of fire in his path.

Sound cool? Let me know,

CJ

P.S. I have to write a Spider-Man fic first, because Spidey is my favorite superhero...^-^ Don't worry, I'll get my Rangers fics up in no time.

P.P.S. Why aren't there more Black Rangers?

I'm REALLY surprised. On a forum (no idea which) they did a poll on this. Rangers at the top haven't even been mentioned (I think) in this topic, them being:

Cole, Carter and TJ at the top of the poll in the worst red rangers.

I don't have an opinion on this to be honest.

I just know which ones I like (I will leave now, wrong topic for me). (:

The only reason why a red ranger would annoy me is if they got all the attention **MF** or power-ups **DT MF** but I don't even hate them, just would like to have seen more of the other rangers with power-ups, etc.

#46 Jan 13th 2008, 9:00am

good point..all of the rangers were just as important if not more than the red rangers!!

I got what you meant by talking about the red rangers. :)

That's cool, people have the things that they like and such.

Thank you. Another person who agrees with the Tommy thing. That annoyed me so much. Especially since all the other rangers have done so much more.

Christopher sounds cool. Is that in your team up with MM story?

I understand, have to go with certain things first. Well let me know when they do get up. :)

I don't know why there aren't more black rangers. They tend to be super cool.

Pink-Ranger-Mode--Yeah people do so that those are the worst red rangers, but I don't think so. If you watch the season you'll see exactly what they did and how far they went to achieve it.

I do think that it is annoying when the red ranger always gets attentioni put on them. If it weren't for the other rangers, well then the red wouldn't have a team and wouldn't have gotten so far at times.

#48 Jan 14th 2008, 6:12am
Superspyder CJ
It's cool!

Yes, I agree with you. I mean, look at the other guys:

Andros shattered Zordon's energy tube and got rid of most of the bad guys in the PR universe.

TJ managed to get his team into Space and keep them alive.

Nick(with a little help) saved the world from the Master.

And Mack and the Overdrive team destroyed Flurious.

But nobody recognizes them.

Yes, Chris appears in the MMPR teamup, my "Once A Ranger" special, and an ongoing fanfic called "Power Rangers Destiny Force."

His teammates are:

Brendan(Blue Ranger): The wise guy; always has a sarcastic comment. Also an expert swimmer.

Johnny(Black Ranger): Mr. Cool. Has a crush on Sabrina.

Sabrina(Yellow Ranger): She's smart and pretty. All the boys at school want her. She dislikes Johnny.(Ironic, ain't it?)

Amy(Pink Ranger): A really nice girl. She's also kinda shy. Has a crush on Christopher.

And three more characters:

Darius: An utterly serious young man. He wears a lot of white... hmm, i wonder what this could mean?

Robbie: What my Dad calls a "smoth operator". He may seem nice, but he's really a jerk. Chris hates him.

Ivan: The school bully. Provides comic relief for the whole series.

Hopefully after midterms, I can FINALLY start writing...^_^

Until then,

CJ

I've liked most of the read rangers. Well, except for tommy, which I've stated before.

Haha.

But, yeah, everyone evetually does contribute to the show when you think about it.

And I think, just about every ranger has an episode or two centered mainly around them.

It's funny too. I have this kind-of fanfic (if I ever get around to actually thinking about it) going in my head, and I have a character who goes by "CJ". And when you do finally post that fanfic of yours, Super, let me know. I'll definitely be checking it out.
