Topic: How can Sylar kill Claire?
I was thinking about this today and I still can't find out any way that he'd be able to do this she'd just keep healing herself.

Any ideas?

Well, it seems that she has to put her pieces back together, more or less, for them to heal. There have been a lot of examples of this: he popping her arm back in its socket, pushing her rib back inside, folding her skin closed on the autopsy table (EW) etc. So, I'm assuming if Sylar removed her brain, she couldn't put it back in. Thus, she couldn't heal.

Now, if two years later they find all of Sylar's brains in jars in the basement, I dunno if someone could put it back in her decayed body and she'd come back to life.

Yeah someon told me if they took the brain out she would die because her brain is the source of her power.

Actually, Sylar doesn't take out brains. What he does is cut off the top and then "fixes it". What he does to the brain is unknown, however when he is done, he recieves the victims power. In Claires case, he could cut off the top of her head, and if she could not heal it up in time for him to "fix her" than he would take the ability of cellular regenration away from her and she would die. For that is what he is doing. He takes his victims abilities by messing with their brains. So if he manages to do so, before she has a chance to heal her powers will leave her and she will die.

Well, I stand corrected. = P

So, if the victims actually had a chance of living lethal situations like Claire, Sylar is actually taking their powers? So the actual person doedn't have them anymore (if they could survive his attack)? I assumed that through seeing how their brains work - hence why I thought he removed them - he could duplicate their powers. A little like Peter, but more disgustingly.

That's interesting. Thanks for clearing it up!

I don't think that he's inside of their heads fixing them. He looks inside their heads to see how things work. He is a watch fixer and by seeing how something works (which is his talent) he is able to replicate the effect.
