We seem to have run out of room in the first part...so here's Part Two!

"well...you could take the liberty of cleaning up my archives...I haven't sorted through them in years. Or you could...keep me warm at night..."

"Let's wait down here."

/Catherine/

"Thank you, David!" I called down. "We appreciate it!" I turned back to Egil and saw that...suddenly, he didn't look so well. "Egil? Are you all right? You look as if you're about to be sick..."

/Nickelia/

"I think I'd prefer the second option," I said with a smile. "It sounds a lot easier..."

/Gabriel/

I nodded, then led Kaja over to a table that had been vacated recently.

/Egil/

Controlling my emotions, I calmly but gruffly stated, “It’s nothing…I just can’t stand smoke from cigars. It’s a trait I unfortunately inherited from my father. Don’t worry, it will pass…the discomfort usually does.”

/Catherine/

I nodded. "All right...just as long as you're sure you're going to be all right. Though, honestly, you do look as if you're going to be sick. I'd lay down if I were you..."

Amazing...only two months pregnant and my motherly instincts were kicking in already...

/Radovan/

-I grinned.-

"I would have chosen that one, too."

/Kaja/

"So..." -I started, trying to think of a conversation starter.-

/Nickelia/

"Well, then...tonight, I shall be sleeping with you," I said. "Although I should warn you...I move around a lot in my sleep..."

/Gabriel/

"Erm..." I said in response to Kaja's attempt to start a conversation. I honestly didn't know what to say. "Er...you're, um...you're Lexa's sister, right? Or are you Andreas's sister? I'm afraid I forgot..."

/rad/

"I like the sound of that," -I grinned.-

/Kaja/

"Lexa's half-sister. We share a mother," -I replied.-

/Egil/

At her advice, I grinned smugly at her. “It appears your maternal instincts are kicking in already. I credit that’s a good sign.”

/Nickelia/

"All right, as long as you don't mind..." I said. "I'm just warning you, though...you may get kicked. Mother told me that I kicked her a lot those nights I slept in her bed..."

/Gabriel/

I nodded. "I was thinking you and Lexa were sisters...She's very lucky to have you as a sister. You're a nice woman, Kaja..."

/Catherine/

"I noticed that," I said to him. "I'll assume that's supposed to be a good sign...Though I honestly wouldn't know, what with this being my first time being a mother and whatnot..."

/Rad/

"Don't worry about it, darling."

/Kaja/

"Thank you very much, Gabriel. Catherine is more than lucky to have you for a brother."

/Nickelia/

"All right, then!" I trilled cheerfully. "Well, we've got a while until it's time to go to bed...perhaps we could start making dinner. Lexa...are you hungry or anything? You'e had a busy day..."

/Gabriel/

I smiled, feeling the faintest bit of heat rising in my face. "Well, thank you, Kaja. I'm more than lucky to have Catherine as my sister, I know that..."

/Lexa/

"Actually, yes. I'm starving. I haven't eaten a thing all day. And I'll have to feed Sofiya again soon, just so you know. I don't mind you being inside, but if you would like to leave, then I'm just letting you know."

/Kaja/

-I could see him blushing. I smiled and fought the urge to kiss him again. I lost. I found myself kissing his cheek tenderly.-

/Nickelia/

"Well, then, I'll get right on dinner!" I said. "After all, I'm not too terrible a chef...I'm sure I could cook a nice little something for dinner...And don't worry, Lexa. I'm going to be in the kitchen, so you and Sofiya can have your privacy..."

/Gabriel/

I felt Kaja's lips gently brush my cheek. I gently placed a hand on her face, turning it slightly, and I kissed her on the lips. The first time I had kissed a woman since I had kissed Anna all those years ago. I had almost forgotten what it was like...

/Lexa/

"Alright. Don't mind me."

/Radovan/

-I went in the kitchen to help.-

/Kaja/

-He was kissing me back! I blushed fiercely, my mind racing. What should I do?-

/Nickelia/

"Anything in particular you want, Lexa?" I asked. "I went down to the village a few days ago, so Rad actually has some food now!" I kissed him on the cheek. "I don't know how you were surviving up here, you had so little food..."

/Gabriel/

I let my hand linger on Kaja's cheek, and I felt the heat in her face. She must've been blushing...honestly, I always thought she looked wonderful when she had a little color in her cheeks...

/Lexa/

"Oh, not really. Just make whatever you would like."

/Kaja/

-I turned my face in his hand to kiss his palm.-

/Nickelia/

I nodded. "All right...I'll see what we have that we can cook..."

/Gabriel/

I felt Kaja break the kiss and brush her lips over my injured palm, the one sliced open by Carmen. It stung momentarily when she brushed her lips over it, but the most prominent feeling I felt was a pleasant shiver...

/Egil/

I rubbed Catherine’s shoulder tenderly, recalling how nervous my sister Ragna was about being a mother when she was pregnant with Sigrid.

“You’re going to be a wonderful mother, Dame Englen,” I assured her, “especially since you’re going to fight tooth-and-nail to protect your child from Dracula. A true mother always defends her young.”

/Catherine/

I smiled at Egil's words. "Of course I'm going to fight tooth and nail. I don't want that bastard to have any influence over how my little one is brought up. I don't want him corrupting the innocence of my son or daughter..."

/Egil/

“And I’ll do anything to help you. I don’t what another innocent to be fouled by Dracula or anyone like him.” I remarked, inwardly perceiving Catherine would definitely make a fine mother.

Dracula, you’re screwed. Fighting against a mother who’ll die for her child is more ferocious and terrifying than the Devil himself. Have a good death.

/Catherine/

I wrapped my arms around Egil, holding him close. I couln't help but smile. "I know you will, Egil...I know you will. And...and I thank you so much...I love you so much..."

/Lexa/

"Sounds good to me!"

/Kaja/

-I heard him breathe in and I felt a shiver go down my back. I wondered when Alexsei would be done...I never wanted to leave now.-

/Egil/

Sinking into her embrace, I returned the gesture with a chaste kiss to the check. “As do I, Dame Englen, as do I.” With that said, we both fell into each other’s arms.

/Carmen/

"Think.....a headache....a drill in head. It hurts-s!" I whimpered.

/Nickelia/

"All right...anything we can cook, Rad?" I asked him. "We could try that ratatouille again...hopefully, Lexa will keep it down this time...same with me..."

/Gabriel/

I gave Kaja a gentle smile. "Kaja...are you feeling the same things I'm feeling right now?"

/Catherine/

I held onto Egil tightly, letting my head rest on his shoulders. I blinked slowly, feeling tired...what was it about Egil's arms that made me feel tired? Maybe it was because I felt so warm, so safe in his arms...

/Alexsei/

"All right..." I said. "It's okay, Carmen. I'm going to help you..." I gently brushed her soft hair from her eyes. "I'm going to help you..."

/Egil/

Catherine snuggled up against me and I smirked lightly at this. She could be so utterly enticing when she did that. “Before you fall asleep, Dame Englen,” I whispered velvety into one of ears, “can you tell me that pirate song you were singing after you had some of that opium?”

/Erik/

Alarmed, I hovered near Carmen, furiously wondering how I could help her. “Is there anything I can do?” I asked Alexsei fiercely.

/Catherine/

I giggled tiredly when Egil asked me what I was singing after taking Zenevieva's tonic. "Oh, that song...I do believe it's called 'A Pirate's Life for Me'...see, in the late 1600's, Gabriel and I were living near the Whitechapel docks over in London-which is where we learned how to speak English, we lived there for twenty years, after all-and pirates used to come through that port sometimes. As a cover job, I was working at a tavern, and I heard that particular tune often. I came to fancy it and I used to whistle it on the way back to the flat Gabriel and I shared...Guess I forgot I even knew it..."

/Alexsei/

"You see, the thing is I'm not sure what to do in a situation like this..." I said. "Ordinarily, I'd give Carmen painkillers, but...I'm afraid that Carmen's system won't accept them the way most people's systems will...her body's quite intolerant to normal painkillers...and alcohol. I've come to find this out..."

/Egil/

Recollecting Sigrid singing the selfsame song, I answered drolly, “Hm, so that explains where Sigrid heard that song. I’ve heard her humming it for quite some time...I esteem she’s doing it so much to bug the Elders.”

/Erik/

Furrowing my eyebrows, I began to half-pace across the room. “Then what will work for her?”

/Catherine/

I smiled, almost completely asleep. "Then I'd say you've taught her well..."

/Alexsei/

"Usually, she has her own concoctions for this sort of occasion," I explained. "But I don't know where she keeps them, what they do, or even if she has them with her. I know she had some sleeping pills...I remember she gave them to Catherine to knock her out when her ankle got ravaged a few months back...but I don't think she ever takes them...I honestly don't know..."

/Egil/

“I say I did,” and I allowed Catherine drifted to sleep.

/Erik/

Digesting this, I halted my pacing with my mind whirling with possibilities. “So if she won’t accept the sleeping pills or anything, perhaps we should use acupuncture? The process is used wildly in the Asian lands and I heard it’s very effective.”

/Catherine/

I was right on the verge of falling asleep...I wanted to say one last thing to Egil. "I love you..."

/Alexsei/

I chewed on my bottom lip as I thought about that. "You know...I never thought to try that. That could work...Though, first, I'd like to check her bag, just in case she happens to have anything I can give her...But if she doesn't, we could definately try that..."

/Akyra/

I heard screaming, all through my head. And for once, it wasn't my brother screaming in torment. No, it was someone else...it was him, Dracula. That son of a firecracker...who does he think he is, barging into a girl's beauty sleep like that? Ah, well, I was pretty sure he didn't mean to do it, it was just a telepathic bond all vampires share at a moment of pure stress. What was he yelling about now? Something about a false bride...and a baby? The thing that scared the pigeon patooties outta me was the last thing he said before fade out. "CAAATHERIIIIINNNNEEEEE!!!!!!!!"

Yeah...I shot out of bed (and nearly my own skin) and shook my head to clear it. "Aw...kitten spit," I muttered. Looked like I was taking a trip to Transylvania. The vampire king was, to put it lightly, f*ucked, and some traitor bride was carrying his baby.

I quickly ran to get dressed and head to Transylvania on the double...I wasn't gonna miss this drama for the world.

/Catherine/

I could hear something, in my mind...thoughts. Thoughts of a vampire, no less. I didn't know who he-or she-was, but they were a vampire, and I heard them say something about heading to Transylvania. Something about the King of the Vampires, a traitor bride, and a baby on the way...

Dracula, me, and my unborn child.

News travels fast...

Erm...not to intrude or anything, I said to the vampire. But how did you find out about Dracula and...well, everything else?

I heard a tiny voice in my head...ahhhh, can't a girl have her thoughts to her bloody self? Well, you are intruding, and I would very much appreciate it if you wouldn't! It's quite enough to hear one vampire's emotional screams and another's ticked off ones.

Okay, Akyra, I told myself, she's just curious...take it easy on her... Well, I told the new voice...if you really must know...The bloody King of the Dead Guys woke me up screaming about this new...developement, if you will, and I want a front row seat. I'm bored at home, i need a little entertainment...

I tapped my foot on the ground, waiting for the answer.

/Catherine/

I wasn't quite sure what to make of this new vampire. She seemed a little rude at first, but then...she softened slightly. What have we here? A female Egil, perhaps? I honestly did not know...

Nothing wrong with that, I suppose, I told her. Just, please...tell me you're not another one of Dracula's snivelling harpies, please. Alyssa was bad enough and Alex was pretty bad herself...

/Radovan/

"Sounds good to me!" -I said, taking out the ingredients.-

/Kaja/

-I nodded, eyes wide and breath quick.-

/Akyra/

A harpy? Did this girl just call me a snivelling harpy? And Dracula's no less. LIsten up, because I will only say this once. Dracula has about the same chances of seducing me as he has of getting some decent looks! It ain't gonna happen!

And, with that, i orbed to Transylvania.

/Nickelia/

"All right...what do you need me to do?" I asked.

/Gabriel/

She nodded! Oh, thank God...I wasn't the only one who was feeling like this. I leaned in and kissed her again...

/Catherine/

I felt a smile spreading over my face. So I'm not the only one who thinks he's an ugly son of a vampire bat? Thank you...believe me, though, if you think he looks bad...you haven't seen him the way I've seen him. And be thankful you haven't...

/Radovan/

"Chop these into small cubes," -I said, sliding some vegetables in front of her.- "And then put them into this pot."

/Kaja/

-He kissed me again! Oh, I thought I was going to hyperventilate! I kissed him back, putting a hand to his cheek.-

/Nickelia/

"You got it, Rad!" I said, starting to chop the vegetables. "It was quite delicious...hopefully, this time, I won't be throwing it back up..."

/Gabriel/

I moved my chair, so that Kaja and I were no longer trying to kiss across the table. Now we were sitting next to each other and kissing. I let my hand rest on the nape of her neck, feeling her soft, thick, dark hair brushing against my fingers...

/Rad/

-I laughed.-

"I hope so too!"

/Kaja/

-We kissed deeper and more passionately, and soon I heard whistles and jibes coming from the bar. I blushed and reluctantly broke the kiss.-

"Maybe we should...go somewhere else..."

/Nickelia/

I showed the vegetables to Rad. "How does that look? Good for the ratatouille, or do I need to cut more?"

/Gabriel/

As Kaja and I kissed, a group of drunks at the bar gave loud wolf-whistles, and many others were whispering and whatnot. I silenced the group at the bar with a dark glare before looking back at Kaja. "Upstairs or outside, Kaja?"

/Egil/

I heard Catherine whispered that she loved me. The corners of my mouth quirking upwards, I placed a soft kiss on the top of the head, muttering, “And I love you, too, my Dame Englen.”

/Erik/

“I hope it works,” I said while Alexsei rummaged through Carmen’s effects, “because I’m not sure what else will.”

/Alexsei/

I dug through Carmen's bags, looking for something. I came across several things that looked like Carmen's potions and whatnot, but...I didn't have the faintest idea as to what they did. I sighed. "Well, I found some things, but I haven't the faintest clue as to what they do, so...I do believe we'll have to try acupuncture. I'm just hesitant because I'm don't know how Carmen's going to react to the needles..."

/Radovan/

-I assessed her work.- "That seems good enough. Throw those into the pot and set it to simmer."

/Kaja/

"Upstairs," -I replied, standing but remaining close to him.-

/Nickelia/

I nodded. "All right, then. I'll go ahead and do that-OW, DAMN IT THAT HURT!"

The knife had slipped from my fingers and sliced open my left palm. The tangy, metallic scent of blood filled the kitchen...

/Gabriel/

"Sounds good to me," I said, ignoring some of the crude jokes that some people shouted out when we decided to go back upstairs. "Lead the way, milady..."

/Radovan/

-Instantly my vampire sense kicked in, undoing my normal sense of control. I bit it back, though, and grabbed a towel.-

"Here, put pressure on it. I'll grab some bandages."

/Kaja/

"Of course, good sir," -I replied, leading him up the stairs.-

/Erik/

“Perhaps lightly prick her one of the pressure points with the tip to gauge how she reacts to it, if at all,” I suggest thoughtfully.
