"Hold out your hand Jeb." Shadow said

Jeb did as he was told and Shadow placed a set of keys in his hand. Then he handed him a map.

"There's a cabin in the mountains,you and Anne are gonna disappear, and finally not have to worry about this stuff anymore."

Jeb's jaw hung open.

"Don't worry about anything."

"..... Is he serious?"

"As cancer." Shadow whispered.

"Ha! He is a hick!"

"Shadow, thank you, but... we can't fall off the grid with a kid on the way. What about school? What about work?"

"Yeah, they can't possibly home school it, they don't have half a brain between 'em."

"I'll take care of it." Shadow said. "I'll get you guys everything you need."

"Don't be a dick, I'm actually trying for once." Anne sighed.

"Shadow... thank you."

"I think I will."

"You're making playing Little House on the Prarie sound better every minute."

Jeb was still stunned.

"Don't mention it I still owe you anyway." Shadow said.

Carter shrugged.

"I won't have to put up with you, I can't complain."

"You don't owe me anything, Shadow...." Anne smiled weakly.

"Carter, go to hell."

"Can't take a joke?"

"Exactly."

"Too bad."

"Can't you be even a little nice?"

"Maybe."

"Thank you."

"I said maybe."

"That's not being nice." Anne sighed.

"Jeb, what do you think?"

Carter shrugged.
