Since we don't have a thread that this could go under, I thought I'd better make another one.

The Tuathan Games are basically arena-style combat/tournaments. The massive arena built in Mac Anu has enough room to allow for intense fighting to take place and for a several tens of thousands of spectators to fit inside its walls. The games are open to every player of the World that isn't hacked, illegal or irregular in some way. This prevents the hosts themselves from participating.

The arena is programmed to resist most damage and to repair itself instantly should any damage come to it. The arena floor (as in the place where actual combat takes place) is made of Hackers' Bane and another interesting substance to prevent illegal players from participating. This is a secondary measure of security, as the arena guards all carry rods of Hackers' Bane to screen entrants as they come in. Hackers and illegals are allowed to sit as spectators.

The actual main event consists of a preliminary elimination, where all participants are thrown into the arena at one time and enter a free-for-all battle. The last sixteen players standing are then placed into various slots in a four-round tournament where they face each other one on one in two round matches. The first to win two rounds in a match advances, and the loser is eliminated from the tournament. This continues until there is only one remaining and they are awarded with a price from the Tuatha.

After the first tournament is over, the champion may remain, and fight the winner of the final round to defend his/her title. If the champion elects not to stay, then the tournaments will proceed as usual.

In the rare event that there is a stalemate between two participants, a judgement will be made by the hosts on who shall advance and who shall be eliminated.
