L-kun is! I really enjoyed following his logic, and even though he seems socially awkward, he's so cute! Just his habits and the obsession with sweets. Speaking of such, I have a fanfiction I just recently wrote with an L x OC pairing. It's called ' Sweet Sweet Symphony '. Read, enjoy, and review!

omg i love L! I am the origional L fan club whoot whoot, that was kind of an inside joke for me and my friends at school. I wrote a stolry about L: The Totally Twisted and Pointless Story

I don't know very well L(I'monly in the volume 2)but my first impression when I saw him was;WaOOUH!!this physique,intelligence,he's strange but interesting and scheming!!!a very specific character...

i very much agree with you ellesmera, L is that kind of charecter, when i saw him i loved how his profile was very much diffrent from the other charecters.

yes of course!he's as complex as Light,buthe has something more than the main character!I really like his strange face,his (strange) manners,his way of thinking...oh and particulary (I will be a litlle poetic^^)he is shrouded in mystery!

lol, once again i totally agree with you ellesmera! L is an exotic charecter with strange behavoirs but is a total genius! he is so much better than Light who is neither exotic or has that intresting of a profile, Light is only smart and minipulative. L is so much better! :)

I totally agree. I thought he did a fabulous job portraying his mannerisms and quirks. Also, he really did look like him, which I thought was amazing.

So do I!!!!!! L is soooooo cool, I dyed my hair black and stopped sleeping. On deathgod.org, they have a complete guide on how to be L. Have you ever noticed that everyone seems to want L? Even I do, and I'm a guy. I idolize L.

im on book #10, which im done with, im waiting for the 11th which comes out in may 2007. ok im sorry DeathnoteBoy4495 its awsome that u idolize L and all but to stop sleeping just to be like him is really stupid. IM NOT TRYING TO BE MEAN i think L is awsome but i dont recomend stopping sleeping just to be like him. dont forget he is fictional. GO L!

yeah I think L have it:I don't really know how explain it but I think he's so intelligent,he's so thinking that it prevents him to sleep(?)!according to me he never sleep cause he's a genius.It's like in naruto,gaara never sleep,so he has a lot of circle!(for him it's because of his devil,but this is the same situation)

First off, there is no proof L has Insomnia. Some people claim he has Aspegers, but that cannot be proven either. It is fun to take assumptions for stories and such, but no one can run to those extremes without evidence. It would be a more supported statement to assume L sleeps when he gets tired; however, it is not that he is unable to sleep. It is because he is working, and as some doctors know, you can end up working for 20+ hours without realizing it. Once, I stayed up three days straight just because I lost track of time. I slept for 8 hours and was fully functional. L, I would imagine, may be similair. Mostly, detectives, doctors, nurses, and some business jobs can be like this. (Sometimes serious teaching jobs forces you to push on without sleep.)

Also, L maybe a fictional character, but it is not completely wrong to copy him. Maybe you can be carried away, but if you want, try his thinking process, his ginger way of holding things, etc. Maybe it suits you. (I like sitting in a crouch... I am doing it now ^^) And Deathnoteboy. Unless you are in bed for 2+hours trying to sleep but unable to do so, you do not have insomnia. (Not to say you do not have it, I am just mentioning the average requirements for the alledged insomnia case to be legit.) Sometimes more hours....

I only have a problem with your double post. No, I am not expecting a 40 year old pervert. Generally, however, people who are 13 are agressive and willing to argue. I concluded you were young earlier, but I did not suspect you were so...passive. I also thought it might be fun to have someone else with general knowledge to talk/debate/argue about the anime. Oh well, a disappointment leads to something more fun, usually anyway. Good luck with your insomnia. Have you tried all the little "tricks?" Also, it may help to get a book that is either very difficult to read but interesting, or a book that is boring but very easy to read and then read it every night when you want to sleep. I find that can help me sleep if I have any problems in that regard. (Happens on exciting days.)

Wow, I didn't expect my forum to do so well... and in turn end up getting kind of off subject... O.o;;

Anyway, I agree with Detective Lawliet on this one :]. L most likely overworks himself to the extent that he doesn't realize that he needs sleep, and probably does a little catching up every once in a while. Or, he's so sugar hyper that he doesn't need sleep anymore? I don't know, L is an amazing character in that respect really, because the fact that he's so anonymous to even the readers makes him way cool. You know? Not even the authoress know exactly what ethnicity L is, she said he's Japanese and "something European." Very enigmatic.

No more arguing please :]. We're all entitled to our own opinions, sankyuu.

Well yes, he's not physically anonymous anymore. But do we know much more than that? Sure he went to Wammy's House, yet we don't know about his life before that, or before this case except that he worked with Naomi Misori. Otherwise he's a complete mystery to us (except for the unexplainable love of sweets.) That's what I love about him. He's such a unique character.

yes i very much agree, that is most likely why everyone loves his charecter because he is so unique and intresting to read about and the stories he is in. i assume it took quite a while to perfect L's charecter because it is so unique.

Hey, DetectiveLawliet! I've already tried that book trick. It didn't work. My dad always catches me. He has some sort of super human hearing that enables him to hear pages turning behind a closed door. I don't get it. Also, about the 'passive' comment, that's the understatement of the century. Oh, LoveTheEmoKidds, it does get kind of irritating, doesn't it? Oh well, we can't do anything about it.

"L"s first name is: L

Last name is: Lawliet!

After several people argued about the possibility of his name being "Elle" It was STILL concluded that his first name is a mere letter "L." Also, he is the same height as Light-kun, 5"11, if he stands straight up. He is severelly underweight at 100kg. He is underweight because his age is 28.

END SPOILER!!**

Also, we learn that L sleeps in a crouched position in a chair while working on the Kira case. (Cofirmed by Mastuda p. 104, vol. 4)

No, Light is first 18 then 19 when L dies at 28. (His birthday, I forgot to mention, is Halloween of 1979.) Light dies at 22 at Ryuk's hand.

Chya, his true name is L Lawliet, which I really grew attached to (except for Mello's real name, of course; I'm planning on naming my son that :].) I mean, it's so original, who names their kid L? My theory behind that particular series of event is that L was found by Watari (Quillish Wammy) and he named him L, knowing of his vast intellect and probably wanting him to be a detective, so a code name would be quite ideal. That's what I believe.

Also, if you've seen the movie, you see that Raito's father puts a blanket on the seemingly sleeping Ryuuzaki, however it just seems when he "sleeps" he's really thinking. But that's just the movie-verse.

***SPOILER ALERT***

If you check volumes 1-3, you'll see that you're wrong. Light is 17 when he is introduced, and turns 18 in volume 2. He remains that age up until the timeskip, which is 6 years. If he was 18 at the time, he'd be 22 at the time of his death. L was born in 1979, which, if he were still alive would make him 30 after the timeskip. However, because L dies in 2003, he is only 24 at the time of his death.
