 SaiiDajyTopic: Discussion
Hmm, it seems that even though this was made no one put in a topic, that's a shame. Well I believe that Okami is an amazing game, with cool attributes and fun moments, as well as sad ones. Okami is based of the japanese mythological story of Amaterasu, the sun goddess. And many characters come from that story, like Susano, Nagi and Nami(though they sported different names)and also Orochi. There are also other stories integrated int othe game, such as the story of the one inch boy, Issun who falls in love with a woman and uses the lucky mallet to become full sized, though its used in a different manner in the game. Other characters such s Waka and Oki are also from stories. There is even the tory of the man with the treasure chest from the sea that was so depressed since so long had passed he opened the forbidden box and died, though in the story he just becomes a happy old man with his wife. ^_^ It's an honestly wonderful game, with cool weapons and powers, a definite 10/10 game that I reccomend. And I also think it should have it's own section hare on fanfiction, ne? |

Moonlight Wolf91That is sad. I've beaten this game like a thousand times and I practically know all the secrets. Okami got a 5 out of 5 on this show called X-Play and when I found out I really wanted this game. This game definetly deserves a sequel. I hope there are more Okami fans out there because there's hardly any on here. |

SaiiDajyi actually just beat it for the third time. And curse myself because I should of held off and gotten all the stray beads, and for those who don't know there are one hundred stray beads in the game, some are easy to find and some are quite difficult, but it's mainly a reason to continue playing even if you beat the game XD and if you get them all you get invincibilty I have four stray beads to go, I have to beat Kai, Fuse's C.T's, and two of the bandits spiders devil gates, then I'll be done...grr I shouldn't have beat it..OH! vote vote, who loves Waka & Oki?? Moonlight Wolf91I already got all the stray beads and it is so cool! You get not only invincibility but you get a never ending supply of ink and your power increases X10. Beating all the bosses and monsters is a sinch with the stray beads. I also noticed that the gods in the game are from the Chinese zodiac. SaiiDajyuwaaahhhh no fair lol i can seriously not beat Kai-chan T_T and i could beat the devil gates if i sat down with an hour or so but as much as i love the game i can sit still for a long time oh, and i already knew about the zodiac, im happy they had the cat included (is a furuba fan) I am a dragon so I have the power of rejuvination though aster the first few times you harldy ever use it *sighs* i love the scenes when the gods are introduced, i loved the sheep one and the monkey ones lol |

SaiiDajyOh yeah lol that monkey, and the one later with the cymbol was funny too, and I love the snake, though I do feel bad that it's stuck in that glass ball. My faves would probably be the Cat, when they run together, it's so cute and the cat plays with Issun...though it's annoying to go all the way back up there to get the stray bead ^_^;;. I Like the horse because Ammy freaks it out by beating it easily in a race lol. Those are my fave, though the rat is darn cute, and the bunny is funny lol. Yeah, I decided to just go nd spend all of my money on weapons to use against those darn devil gates, they harder than flippin Yami, all you need for him are a few medium holy bones, but these are ridiculous...*cries* I found out that my friends cousin beat Kai on his first try, any suggestions to beat her? |

Moonlight Wolf91i also beat her on my first try the only way to beat her is to find and take all the shortcuts otherwise you wont ever beat her i bet you're having a hell of a time on the devil gate in kamuii that one took me forever to beat, without the stray beads the kamuii devil gate is the hardest especially when you have to do all the human boss fights again oh, one last thing, did you find the sun fragment in yoshpet? if not go pass the poncle village and head to the spirit gate it will be at the third run you'll come to a fork in the road dont follow Issun go the other way. run up the path and you'll find a buried treasure chest thats where the fragment is |

SaiiDajyYeah, after I go to the clearing where the poncle village is, I keep going back and forth getting all the treasure and blooming those killer trees.I did take the short cuts, but I was way ahead of her in one world section and she appeared right nxt to me in the next section...I hate the snowball section, that's where I have my biggest issues. I don't really look for sun fragments, I just smile when I do get them. I started a new game without the memory card just to see what happened if Ammy died lol. |

Moonlight Wolf91I know that there are alot of confusing parts in the game. the one that i cant understand is when Oki takes the sword. later on, he says that the sword didn't glow because he was selfish but it doesnt make sense! i mean he took the sword to save the village and isn't that a SELFLESS act? it should have glowed right then. it makes my head hurt just thinking about it. And why is it just me and you are the only ones that are on this forum? either people dont have access to a computer or they just never heard of Okami. people really need to play this game! they are missing out on something here.  Cheetah SmithAh! Glad to see some activity! ^^ I should post up an obligatory "Please Read First!" thread. But on to the fun stuff...About Oki, he's one of the uber-cool, strangely lovable bastards that you sometimes see in video games and anime. Oki took the sword, Kutone out of good intentions to save Kamui from Moshilechku and Kotanechku (Lechku and Nechku's Japanese names – I've been browsing Japanese fanart sites. XD), but was doing so the wrong way. He obviously knew that the sword would give him the power to strike them down, but he failed to realize that by just running around killing monsters wasn't the way to do it. To put it simply, he was committing a selfish act by trying to achieve power by killing monsters. Kutone, an apparent "Holy Sword" of sorts, wouldn't react (glow silver) to the selfish desire of obtaining power – even if it is born out of good intentions. When Oki saw that Amaterasu and Shiranui needed his help and protection, he did so by blocking the Owls' attacks. Doing so, he committed a selfless act, which caused the sword to glow silver. Oki did another selfless act by offering to protect the injured Shiranui and join Amaterasu in her fight against Lechku and Nechku, of which, presummably, increased Kutone's power and allowed him to help strike down the evil plaguing Kamui. Also by doing so, his "awesome-ness" shot through the roof. X3 In that regard, he's kind of like Escad of Legend of Mana... SaiiDajyYeah, I don't think it's gotten out enough yet, like I've never even seen a commercial for it, I heard about it from a friend, but all my friends know about it, its a must lol. Oki is soo cool, I feel so bad for him when he attacks Orochi and is then flung back, and then Nagi actually hits it and he sulks off. I was like 'Awww Oki come back!' I pretty much like to talk about waht I like, hence the reason that the second you replied I grabbed onto the chance to rattle one lol XD And nice too see cheetah smith, who was probably shocked at the amount of posts X3 Actually, I could reply to all the people who have stories abut okami that this is here, maybe they just don't know. Cheetah SmithI haven't seen any Okami commercials either, but it seems that the "word of mouth" advertising is working very well, since there's over 100,00 copies sold in the US... And growing, because even more people see fanworks of the game, get curious, ask about it, and eventually pick it up on their own. Okami has pretty much become one of the trhee games to currently own my soul, and probably will for a looooong time. (The other two are Legend of Mana and Rogue Galaxy. Hurrah!) Now compare the 100,000 copies here in the US to the pathetic 40,000 copies of Japan. Are they nuts? Then again, I see a very strong fandom over there. I look in on my favorite artist's blog and BAM! They're talking about Okami. I like talking about what I like too, but I'm a homebody, so I don't get many oppturnities. Plus American fandoms only pockets of activity except if it's something popular like Final Fantasy or Kingdom Hearts. Nothign wrong with those games, I like Final Fantasy, but I loooooooove Okami. Put me in a group of fans and I'll chatter the night away. I sometimes have to force myself to shut up for once! ^^; Hehe. I put up the thread with the half-expectation that people will eventually post. So yeah, it's a pleasant surprise. ^^ With regards to Oki... Well, I've rambled about him, so I'll fangirl instead. Huzzah omgwtf squee OKI! XD I swear to god he is one of the coolest characters in Okami... Aside from Rao, Issun and, of course, Ammy. X3 Okay, random fangirling over. XDDD When he got hit and his helmet and the ...whatever fell off i screamed cuz i though his head was knocked off...but then the pretty hair...XDDDDDD But then he fell off and i was like O_o WAH!!! But Oki is also pretty damn cool, he has the Kutone and he can turn into a wolf! i know the whole village can but everyone else is annoying at one point or another...except the merchants but there fat wolfies lol. Cheetah SmithYeah, Waka is cool, with his silly french-talking, flirty ways... I like how he sometimes makes a fool of himself with some of his prophecies. X3 But Susano! I like Susano! XD He's one of my favorite characters because he starts out as a lazy, bumbling coward, but after defeating Orochi... he becomes a better person and a more courageous fighter, who then begins to take his life as a swordsmen seriously. ^^ And he also gets the girl by saving her from the evil nasty eight-headed dragon! XD Yeah, the first battle with Orochi with Susano was one of my favorite boss battles because, well, it's so epic. The second fight with True Orochi with Nagi was also good too, because you got to save Lika in the same way you saved Kushi, plus you got to see Shiranui in action... And Oki getting his dumb butt kicked and being sulky. XD (Poor guy...) Not as epic as the first fight, but still fun. Oy vey! Moonlight Wolf91when Issun says 'where did oki go' you can see that ammy's ears are down. in other words she was sad when he left. i think Ninetails is the coolest boss. my favorite fights are the ones with Orochi. its so fun to beat him up! SaiiDajyYeah, almost all ninetails anywhere are ubercool, like in this game, in naruto, and in petshop of horrors (a must see, the Kyuubi (ten-chan)is in volume eight...um anyways yes! I am a major Oki/Ammy and Waka/Ammy fan...but people can't seem to get of their sorry hides and write a story about it...though I suppose I can't complain...okay! Next project! Oki/Ammy...maybe...I dunno...maybe friendship...lol. UWAH I LOVE FIGHTING THE OWLS!! Simply because Shira-chan and Oki-kun help. HO OKI!! YOU BE A BOW AND ARROW...what was with that anyways? SaiiDajyhmm, no i have yet to write any stories, I'm currently in a deathnote/suika place...I writed about deathnote and my own characters, for creative writing, though the deathnote (mero nia & matt) i only use in quickies so im not Really plagarizing them...um anyways YEAH!! Ammy is so cute like when she jumps up and down when she sees waka after the last fight and wags her tail, and when the spider queen asks is she has any last words she makes kawaii wolfy noises lol and ** of the spider, i wonder what she said. I know you call Ammy a girl, almsot everyone does because she is based of the goddess Amaterasu, but in the game's Ammy's actually supposed to come off as 'genderless'. Moonlight Wolf91yeah that confused me too but when i read that manual thing it said that ammy is genderless. that also explains why ammy was looking at Rao's boobs when you go to the sunken ship. when i saw that i was like 0_o whoa, is she doing what i think she is? and why does Waka act all mean when you first meet him? after you beat him the second time he starts to get a bit nicer. but if he truly had faith in Amaterasu like he says before you fight Yami then why did he have to be like that? um...i think ammy might have cussed at the spider queen or said something insulting.| #20 Mar 21st 2007, 12:38pm | |

Ammy is alwaus drooling at Rao's boobs which is sooo annoying...but Ammy will always be a girl for me so yeah...and with the spider queen I imagine it to be 'ANY LAST WORDS' 'Hmm...how to get out of here' (considering she fell off that cliff lol) so hse was ignoring the spider, I think Waka did have faith in Ammy but he just wanted to test her, because she was 'asleep' for 100 years so he wanted to see if she was still in good condition, and in technicalities she wasn't, considering she only had like...three or four out of thirteen brush techniques. Moonlight Wolf91yeah for everyone ammy will be a girl. for some reason i had the urge to laugh when i saw Waka's real hair. i was like holy crap he's blonde lol. what i dont like at the end of the game is that i thought i would be given the chance to look around the celestial plain. but hey i got some unlockables and that thing with the gallery, music, and that awesome movie theater ^_^ who would have thought that clover studios was about to make Okami realistic looking and call it Ohkami. im dissapointed about the fact that they made a really boring cinematic about Okami. no one's going to buy the game if they see that flick!| #22 Mar 22nd 2007, 9:41am | |

SaiiDajyYes, Waka's hair is sooo pretty XD They say he is from the moon tribe yet he looks very similar to those of the celestial plain hmmm. I love the unlockables XD And currently my goal (until I get to the point of getting the remaining stray beads) is to feed ALL the animals cuz thats apparently how you get yen for praise, and after you fill in the four things (astral puchs inkpots etc) it becomes pretty much useless lol.I like the ending, and love the music but i can't find anywhere to download it -_- *is sad about that* though i do have another song from Ayaka Hirahara.XDDD| #23 Mar 24th 2007, 11:50am | |

I hate Ammy...lol jk i love her and she is soooo cute, I really like Shiranui, and yes I know Shiranui is just a past Amaterasu but for me he will always be a male different wolf...Shiranui just sounds like a males name to me *shrugs* Well anyways besides her/him/them/whatever I like Oki of course and WAKA *is a Waka fan 100%* Umm I really like Kushi, and whenever I'm in Shinshu field or in Kamiki village I always go to see her, because all you have to do is bark on the side of her rice field and she'll come pet you. Oh, have you tried cutting the rice? You get a Lot of Riceballs and domething else that I cant remember lol OH! And the giant orange on top of Mr. Oranges' house you'll get 'sacred kamiki oranges, or something like that. Moonlight Wolf91i like Oki too and i also like Otohime cuz she can turn into dragon. Issun is cute but sometimes im like shut up already! and, lets see...Waka is cool. I like the last prophecy thing he gives at the end because once he's done Ammy shakes her head probably thinking 'what just happened?' you know, when Issun and Ammy say goodbye it's one of those moments when the boy tells his dog to leave but the dog wont leave the boy. that scene almost made me cry. I really started crying at the end of the game, the part when everyone you meet is praying for amaterasu. i turned my head the other way so my brother wouldnt see me cry. when Yami takes away your powers i literally felt helpless. SaiiDajyhmm...other games other games...umm naruto ultimate ninja, inuyasha(though not as much cuz i beat the game) hmm...I have a lot of games from christmas i have yet to play and GTA games and yes, girls defenitly need to be more game adept XD my family is confusing...my parents of course don't play lol my brother played GTA and racing games and his girlfriend and her sister who live with us don't play...even though i set up my PS2 downstairs outside there room(so i can play it anytime lol the T.V is bigger than mine down there 9_9 i want it!) its hard to actually make her poop...you have to like slam the friggin button *sighs* my cousin loves that game too, she likes to pee on the opponents as well haha i hate blockheads!!!I beat the last one with four other people getting two points each...lol i may have already said that but w/e XDD| #35 Mar 29th 2007, 6:19pm | |

Moonlight Wolf91i also hate those freakin blockheads! i have no idea how i beat the last one my mind kind of spaced out and i just put the points it was really weird...so you play GTA. i rented one first then after i played my neice's GTA Liberty City Stories i went to go buy GTA San Andreas. i dont want to have the same game as her. i also set up my PS2 downstairs in my home and the tv is also big ^^ i have a Gamecube and a DS. hmm...i dont have enough games on my Gamecube. i think i have 3 or was it 4? anyway i like to play Super Smash Bros. Moonlight Wolf91lets see...i have playstation, PS2, DS, Gamecube, and i had a gameboy 'til my brother busted it up. he has an gameboy SP. it was because of that i got my DS. i was totally ** off that he got an SP after he busted up my gameboy. i played the Nintendo 64 but that was my uncle's. that was how i started to love Super Smash Bros. anyway, i've basically played all the systems but some of them weren't mine. my other uncle has an Xbox and my cousin once had a super nintendo. oh wait...i also had a Sega Genesis thing but we sold it. oh and i also played the Sega Dreamcast. you know, i heard somewhere that the PS3 was doomed to fail. hmm...would it happen? i so want to play the Wii! it looks so fun and its also cheaper than the PS3.| #38 Apr 04th 2007, 6:07pm | |

SaiiDajyOh I love both of those movies...though not so much Spirited Away...it leaves me literally sick with a feeling of incompletion at it. Moonlight Wolf91you're so lucky! i was thinking that once im done with high school ill spend some time hanging around and then go to college or whatever but my mom says 'once you're done you're going straight to college so you wont forget anthing you learned in school' i guess she's right. my mom is kind of obssessed to make me, my sister, and brother become something that she wasnt able to be and thats a somebody. *sigh* thinking about her makes me think kind of deep. you know like what WILL i be later on in life? but she doesn't make me think that way all the time (thank goodness) she does wants us to have fun but my brother is such a little sissy and his crying always screws everything up...im pretty much the boy of the family(even though i am really a girl) my sister is the girly-girl and my brother is the little girl lol. its true though BOYS DONT CRY!| #44 Apr 09th 2007, 6:05pm | |

SaiiDajyI'm the tomboy of the family, and my brother got arrested a few months back so , my dad got overpowered, ther are now four girls and one guy (me my mom my brothers girlfriend and her sister teehee) ive always been tomboyish though, comes from growing up with only your brother and two male cousins and a hella lotta second cousins, all boyish because of being raised on a farm yatta yatta lol i just got my hair cut, random fact! SaiiDajyI have my own computer XDD its makes me happy although the other day the moniter just wouldn't work and i kinda just stood there lost on what to do, i think i almost had a heart attack lol then i call my friends from down the road, I live in rural Connectivut...theres a lotta rural areas in connecticut and it sucks, nothing to do like..EVAH so when my computer died i was sad -_- *yawns* its only 6:23 at night her and im tired lol hey...maybe thats why we are never on at the same time, different time zones lol| #49 Apr 10th 2007, 3:24pm | |
