SpirithunterSince we're all here, maybe we can talk about Okamiden now. :P What are your opinions on the game and what you've seen of it so far? (If you have no idea what I'm talking about, I've posted tons of links and info here: http://sarurunnewsnetwork.deviantart.com) |

Brent-KaTo say I'm looking forward to it would be a massive understatement. Chibiterasu's freaking adorable, and the game looks amazing. The only slight quig I have with it though? It smacks of similiarity. The techniques are the same, the soundtrack's the same, and the locations look the same. The last thing I want to happen to Okami is for it to be Zelda-rised. (I.E- The same puzzles and elements every game wrapped up in a slightly new setting. Yes, I get it. You ram into the bookcase with the Pegasus Boots. Clever. We've done it for nearly ten years now, get some new material.) Again though, that's me being super negative. Did Susano's grandaughter ever get a name? |
 |
SpirithunterYou mean grandson? Kuninushi. A lot of similarities, yes... at least Ammy wasn't Link-ified (to our knowledge, at least). I guess we can't really judge much at this point. You do bring up a good point, though. I hope we get lots of nice new stuff in addition to the regurgitated stuff (Divine Retribution, brush gods...) |

Brent-KaGrandson? The pigtails must've thrown me off. Of course this takes place a good chunk of time after the original, so even if we tread old ground, there's always hope that it's changed in recent years. Maybe they'll even throw in some of the unused concept art. (Not too certain on that one though. I think Kamiya and the gang have dibs on that stuff.) DS brush mechanic is gonna be interesting. Oh sure, you all think it's easy when you haven't played it, but think about it. Much like the analog sticks and the wii version, there's going to be a lack of friction using the brush, it's not just going to be a simple action of 'swoosh, I'm done!' In other words, (hopefully) you're going to have to use the stylus as if it were an actual brush, not just a plastic stick that interacts with the screen. Still, just conjecture. I swear though, if they make it DSi only (VERY unlikely, but than ago so were the chances of a sequel in the first place) it's an instant refusal on my end. I'm not sacrificing my GBA port for DLC and a crappy camera. |
