Topic: Yuffentine POVS

I was mulling over this as I was chewing my lunch (and sadly, ignoring family dining table conversation . Bad daughter)

Which POVs (Points of View) do you like the most in your Yuffentine? Does anyone have any particular preference?

For many of the Yuffentines that I've read, they're mostly in third person, or if first person, they're from Yuffie's POV. Rarely Vincent's. In fact, I can't name any fics that have an exclusively Vincent POV (I'm sure there are some out there, just that the names slip my mind at the moment). I mean, of course, there are Vincent-centric fics, but not many with the "I" being Vincent (possibly because it's funner to write as Yuffie, or maybe easier? Any thoughts on this?)

Also, I would really love to see a fic from a second person POV. Those are extremely rare, and I think, a little hard to write... In my recollection, I've only ever read one good fic with a second person POV and it was a Pokemon one(yoinks ago). It was really good though.. It would be awesome to see an unusual Yuffentine of high standard.

What do you guys think? :D

Hmm, thinking about it, there aren't that many first person Vincent fics, I guess Yuffie is easier to write like that because she talks more! The only one I can think of offhand is that one of the chapters in 'What they do not understand' is in Vincent's first person pov.

Yeah, I would agree that Yuffie just seems easier to write...the way she talks in the games gives more insight into the way she thinks as opposed to Vincent...I know I tend to favour her point of view when I write..although that could just be because she's a girl so I naturally find that easier.

I don't really have a preference to which I read as long as they are well written and make sense. If it's well written enough I might not even notice the tense. People probably tend to write in the third the most because maybe they find it easier or more natural...I know I do. It just works a lot better with the way I write. Also for my point of views I tend to have a main character that I focus on (or maybe two) and the majority of the story will be from their point of view....but at times there will be other characters points of views as well...depending on whats needed in the story. You see that quite a bit with bigger fics (I'm working on an eventual Yuffentine now that will probably involve a lot of switching around at some points) and I think that works really well since it allows the author to create a more complete plot and add more interesting subplots...that is if they can characterize all the other characters well and not have them all sound the same...AND give them their own unique story or worries or whatever...I've read a couple PUBLISHED books where every side character spends all their time going 'I wonder what the main characters doing, I hope she did this, maybe I can help her etc."....and it just seemed to unrealistic. It got annoying since none of it was even told from the "main characters" point of view...but from other people constantly thinking about her. Oops..rant done. Anyway, I don't have a favorite as long as it's well written..but I prefer to write third person myself.

Also, this is annoying...I've been wracking my brain to remember what second person is..and can't for the life of me remember...anybody got an example?
