If done right, this rare pairing could work. Except it would be a challenge for any writer to perform correctly and... well, she (or he, for you yaoi people) would probably have to be in SOLDIER or connected to it somehow.

Thoughts?

The big problem with OCs is that 99% of them do suck, majorly, because it's young, young people who can't write well and don't know better. Finding that 1% is going to be hard, but I'm sure it's out there somewhere.

Also, the reason OCs are loathed is because most of them are mary-sues. And no-one wants to read about someone else's fantasy about making out with Sephiroth and being his love omg forevarrr~!

It's terrible for me to find so many OCs as Sues/Stus. I went through it myself before I finally realized what makes good OCs. Thing is, I had an idea for a Sephiroth/OC that didn't seem Sueish, mainly because they rarely interact (she being a SOLDIER second class). The idea literally popped into my head one day. I am afraid to write it, though, due to OC prejudice.

Hey I don't know about other people but I myself would read it. I could probably learn a thing or two from you too because I sometimes make OCs from time to time and it would be devastating if someone told me they were a Mary Sue.

That's very kind of you to say. I went through the Sue years myself and I try to stay far away from it all. The story would probably take place in the Crisis Core era, before Sephiroth went truly insane.
