Jack died due to some sickness, and after a few years, Alex's 'true love' figure out that she will have cancer or some life-threatening sickness. Alex try everything he could to get money to send her to the best hospital / receive best medication treatment. He talk to M16, but they did not help him, simply give him loose-ending advices (like Yoda's advice). Scorpia figured out that the kid need cash, and recruited him with the promise of money to treat his true love (ring a bell?). Mrs Jones told Alex's true love about his turn in attempt to locate Alex, and that news added to her stress and she died with a broken heart. Alex became the deadliest assassinate in the world.
