tortallanriderTopic: I've got a few... -I LOVE Alanna. She's always been a favorite, and always will be. She's strong, sassy, and AWESOME.-I like Daine. She's different, and probably the MOST like me. -I like Jon. He's a) nice and b) gorgeous and c) a fair king. -I DO like Numair. He's just got something about him..... -I like George, Neal, Kel, Dom, Raoul, Aly..... I've got a bunch that I like. | #1 Dec 18th 2005, 12:24pm

Lady HalaiaMy favourite character would have to be Alianne. She seems to be the most unique character of them all. Then it would have to be Daine. All the characters are quite realistic. I agree with the reasoning on Jon. But he isn't always nice. |
|
winky-wink.Ok, I love Alanna the most. She and I share that oh so lovely temper problem. If I'm like anyone at all in the Tortall books, it's probably a mix of her, Aly and slightly Keladry. .Speaking of Kel, she's great too. She's so sensible and we all love to see the more human side of her. .I also really love Jon. He isn't perfect, but come on, no reader even remotely disliked him till the 3rd SOTL book. He's also got the gorgeous point. And he's arrogant? Ok, come on..he's Prince AND an only child. I guess I get how you get when you're an only child more because I am one too. .Next character...Aly. She's so spunky and fresh. She is the most like a 21st century girl. I'm most like her pre-Copper Isles when she's really flirty and totally non caring about the world. I can be like that too sometimes. .Who's funnier than Neal in the entire universe of Tortall? I LOVE Neal. I could MARRY Neal. He is so funny. Like when he said and I quote.. I, myself, have noticed my growing resemblance to a daffodil..' I laughed about that for days afterwards haha. He's so easy to love and if you don't like him, you must have a problem. .Numair. Ah, the tall, dark, handsome, types who are true intellectuals and sarcastic. Love them. Love HIM. .Kaddar; he's mysterious. I don't really know what he's all about but he engaged my attention all throughout Emperor Mage. .Nawat, he's so cute! He made me laugh with some of the things he said and according to the books, he's not bad looking either =] |

Sonnet LacewingIn order: Numair, Daine, Alanna, George, Neal, Evin, Jon, Raoul, Kel, Onua, Thayet, Tkaa, Buri... After that it get's harder to put them in an order.I love Numair the most because he is so deep and so sweet. If he were a real guy, Daine would have to fight me for him. Daine is a lovely and deep character. Alanna is strong and I love the cussing. George - I don't know how anyone could not love George. He's so funny and he's very brave. He also has such a pure love for Alanna, waiting for her to get her head together for years. Neal is truly the funniest. I, too, loved the daffodil line. I laughed so hard over that. I also loved his quiet correction of the scum who was beating his servants and wife. That was truly inspired. |

Confusedknighthmm...this is way too hard...I must say I love Kel, she is so down-to-earth and practical and everyone must love Kel/Dom relationships, Tammy has just left a wonderful opportunity for fanfiction authors to use their imagination...Then again Alanna is awesome, she has a great character, what a temper and she acheived so many great things, after all its thanks to her that Kel could become a knight too. I also love Aly, Dove and Daine. Daine because of the whole animal thing, and I would love to be able to talk to my hamsters. Dove is so nice and selfless, not like Sarai. Aly, well she is just downright cool! Raoul, Dom, Neal, Owen, George and Lord Wyldon come next. (I know shock horror, I just love Wyldon's character, he is so grumpy, but there are times you can see that he is nice underneath.) Owen is just cute. Everyone has to love Neal for his meatheadedness. Dom just has to end up with Kel. Raoul is so nice to Kel, yet doesn't get much mention in the Alanna books. George is cool and a great contrast to Alanna. I'm not that great a fan of Jon or Numair. I think Jon behaved unfairly towards Kel, and he upset Alanna, though he is a good King with Thayet to keep him humble. Numair and Nawat are ok I think, but they're not my favourite of characters. Oops I've written almost an essay *looks round guiltily* but it's not my fault, honest. Tammy created such amazing characters, after reading the books, you really feel like you know the characters.. or I do... Is it just me? Am i going mad?? lol! Too late, i'm already mad. la la la la! So I raise my glass, to Tammy, one of the most brilliant authors ever! | #5 Dec 19th 2005, 11:47am

Sleepy Tuna FishHmm... I like most of Tamora Pierce's characters... I can't chose! T_T... Dom and Neal! definitely! And perhaps Numair too... I haven't read the wild magic books in a while... |

NalanaOh geez. This is gonna be hard. So they're not probably in order. Pierce just creates amazing characters!Daine. I've got to say that I would KILL to be able to turn into any possible animal I wished. The fur in me is screaming "yay!" Numair. He's simply an awesome character. His attitude and temperment. It's wonderful! Alanna. She started us all out, a modle of a truly detemined woman. Jon. Really enjoyed his character. Very much so, in fact. It's a shame there aren't more Jon-fans. Raoul of Goldenlake. He was, simply, awesome! I'm so glad Pierce brought him into Kel's story as well! Neal! I really liked him! ^.^ He amused me. I know, not inventive. (I blame my horrible reasons due to finals.) Ali. Now here was a unique character! I /really/ enjoyed her! Exspecially her "suuuuure" like attitude towards her father's demands at the end. ^.^ That was amusing. Now you're all going to say: Whaaaa? but, Taybur Sibigat. Even though he was a minor character in the Trickster books, I really found him admirable. I'm glad that even though he was a minor character he had a major role! That's just the tip of the iceberg. Man. I really need to read these books again! | #11 Dec 20th 2005, 9:03am . Edited Dec 20th 2005, 9:04am

winky-winkOh, Taybur Sibigat? I remember him. Yes, yes, yes! I liked him very much. It was so cool headed and had a very subtle but awesome personality. I like Dom too. What I know of him at least. However, I feel like we hardly got to know him. I think TP should've written about him more since at the end of Lady Knight, it obviously signifies that he ends up with Kel. Anyways, I really like Owen, Merric, Raoul and Gary. All those guys that were best friends to the main characters. They were all special and hilarious in different parts which I won't care to name them all. | #14 Dec 20th 2005, 3:13pm

The Angel Of SincerityOHH his is a hard one...lol,For the girls i would have to say thayet because of her choices and actions, not many people could care so deeply for their country as she does. Also i am a fair bit like her, scarily enough i look like her (arrrggh how weird-in a good way)I have black hair, hazel eyes and creamy coloured skin. Unfortunatly because of my looks i share a problem she would have people judge me before they get to know me, thinking she's pretty she must be dumb...where as looks shouldn't matter, look at thayet...she is beautiful but many probably don't look past that. where as my personality is that of alanna i snap at people all the time and i am known for my bad temper, but i am also passionate about everything i do. My favourite boy in the book would have to be DOM!!!! He is georgious i love the flirty type and he's so amazing! lol but seriously he is: a)HOT b)funny (when conserning neal especially) c)sweet d)loyal e)and many other thing that if i continue to list i will run out of alpabet letters to list them by hehehe.. sorry i went on for a bit there.. | #15 Dec 20th 2005, 4:22pm

StAnDiNgContrappostowell, Numair is...~tall ~dark ~hot ~intelligent ~witty ~quirky i think that Tamora Pierce modeled her love interests after her own turn ons. I mean, look at George and Numair, both are described as being tall with pronounced noses and eccentricies. only Numair is more book-knowledge and intellectual where George has street knowledge. | #17 Dec 20th 2005, 6:05pm

Sonnet LacewingI totally agree with that. I'm all for the book worm too. But yes, TP did give them their own quirks. She also stuck some other stuff in there which is extremely humorous to me. We could have a laugh fest about big hand and feet.Another thing that TP put in to her own taste is fear of marriage. She actually says at the beginning of one book in a dedication to her husband "thanks for making the 'M' word less frightening". Think she has some marriage issues? | #18 Dec 21st 2005, 10:50am

Gwenyfith GauthierI adore Alanna to no end. I'm not much like her but I really wish I was. She's such a free-spirit and so defiant, her dreams are first and foremost, she's afraid of love but has an unporposely tapped power over men it seems. She's just too cool, she's a warrior in more ways than one and I hold a lot of respect for her.I also love George Cooper. I wish he was a real person - he's fantastic, rugged, sneaky, open, commanding, funny. He knows exactly what he wants from people and situations. | #22 Dec 22nd 2005, 5:43pm

nativewildmageI like Numair, Daine, George, Alanna, Aly, Kel, Dom, Neal, Raoul, Owen, Wyldon, Evin, Buri and Thayet. (whoah, that's a good sized list)Jon is ok, I only really like him in the Immortals series, other times he's a jerk a lot. They're all good characters with their own personalities that make them all the more real, not just some person on a piece of paper, you know? Tamora creates such awesome characters!!!| #23 Dec 23rd 2005, 11:05am

Aly the TricksterShe was probably my second favorite in the Circle of Magic and the Circle Opens series, after Daja, but she came way down after TWOTE. She just suddenly became snobby and acted all...I don't know, innocent. Like she knew exactly what was right for her and her people and she couldn't be wrong, and that annoyed me.| #40 Jan 14th 2007, 2:48pm

Freida RightSounds like she got a little to cocky for a while there. Maybe she was putting on an act for her cousin and whoever else was watching her so that she could fit in, perhaps? I mean, I wouldn't know; I've still got to read the book.| #41 Jan 15th 2007, 12:04am
|
|
Aly the TricksterYeah, that's what everyone is telling me, but I think if it was an act she was putting it on to hard and making the other three(Daja, Tris, and Briar) fight with her. You should read the book, because even though Sandry was annoying the book was still amazing.| #42 Jan 15th 2007, 3:36am

Aly the TricksterDoes your library do the request a book thing? You know, where you request a book and the library gets it from another library? That's what I do when I'm waiting for a book, it saves money and time.| #48 Jan 18th 2007, 12:01pm

Freida RightYeah, it does, but I never have to use it. My aunt sent me all the books this summer. Yay!But, anyways, this is irelevent, isn't it? Aly the TricksterGood job for your aunt!I love Kel, she's probably my favorite besides Aly. I like Raoul, Gary, and co. but I liked them better when they were younger in the Alanna books. I like Owen a lot also, but I really disliked Meric and Cleon(stupid Cleon, you're so selfish about Kel's feelings!), but I always thought Neal was awesome...that family(Dom, Duke Baird, Yuki) always made me laugh. | #50 Jan 18th 2007, 7:16pm
