A Little History of the Reviews Lounge

The Reviews Lounge began as a C2 community dedicated to promoting under-reviewed authors and their stories. It has now grown into not only a rather large and very dynamic archive, but also this forum (and we pride ourselves with the fact that in its first year, we were the fastest growing Harry Potter forum on ff.net).

In addition, the Reviews Lounge now has its very own profile

The Reviews Lounge aims to encourage readers to review every story they read, and was formed after I became particularly alarmed at the strange phenomenon which indicated that many people on this site are too lazy to review. Reviews are a very important aspect of posting a story/poem on ff.net, and we encourage each and every one of you to review! You never know when a simple comment, friendly piece of encouragement or a gentle piece of concrit might make someone's day!

First off, I would encourage you all to:

1. Subscribe to the community - it is home to many fantastic stories, and we have a constant turnover, so please pop by and review!

2. Add the profile to your author alerts list. this is where we publish collaborative efforts from the people (like you) who populate this forum

Meet the Staff

Lexie, PA and Cuba - Together we run the entire RL - forum and archive (although these days we aren't above delegating). Commonly you'll see us all on the forums quite frequently, and at least one of us is around most days. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to PM us: the links to our profile pages sit at the bottom of every RL forum page!

Cassie, Charli, Gaby, Katy and SCV - our staff at the archive, who help us sort through all the Recommendations and Requests we receive each week!

Witblogi, our "Official Reviews Lounge Artist" and also the manager of our LiveJournal community!

Caramelboost - she runs our sister-forum on fictionpress, also called the Reviews Lounge

The Reviews Revolution

This was a little movement that began before the RL was even dreamt of - (and we take no credit for it) - however, we encourage you all to join! Simply copy and paste this into your profile, and help spread the word! :

I, [insert name here], do solemnly swear to review all the fics I read, regardless of the number of reviews,

its age, or anything else.

I have joined the review revolution.

Recommending a Story

The Reviews Lounge community only archives Harry Potter stories in the following two categories:

- one shots with less than 20 reviews

- chapter stories with an average of less than 15 reviews per chapter

However, any and every story is quite welcome to be recommended on the appropriate forum topic. Just let us know if it isn't in the running for being archived!

Once a story in the C2 community archive has fulfilled its review limit, it will be moved to another C2 community, The Reviews Lounge Recommendations. I encourage you all to also go and have a look at this archive!

When you read a story and decide to recommend it, I encourage you to mention you will be recommending it in your review. Not only will it help spread the word about this place, it is a great encouragement to authors to hear that you have enjoyed their story so much!

Please note: just because you recommend or request that we review a story does not mean it gains automatic entry to the archive!

Story of the Day

This is where any member of the forum is welcome to post their favourite story from the Reviews Lounge C2 community. Story of the Day is only open to stories that are in that archive. Any other recommendations belong in the Recommend and Request thread. I will make very few exceptions to this rule.

Challenges

Here in the forum, we have a number of challenges going. They are created by you guys, and open to anyone who wishes to participate.

There are no deadlines for the challenges. They remain open indefinitely. We only ask that if you do partake in a challenge, let us know by posting the details to your story in the Challenge Submissions thread.

Rainbow Magic

For those interested in reading the wonderful stories written, here is the link. Rainbow Magic

Creation of New Topics

This has now been altered so that the moderators (that is, PA, Cuba and myself) are the only ones who can make topics. This stems from the creation of topics by several individuals in direct violation of what was requested. SO if you'd like a new topic, request it!

Deletion of Old, Unused Topics

If a topic is well and truly dead - as in, a) if it has been sitting at the bottom of the list for a month or more without any response - or b) if the topic comes under the criteria of what I shall call a 'lazy topic' (one that has not garnered much response, or only occasional bursts of interest), or c) it is a completely pointless exercise to continue it, then we reserve the right to delete it. This forum on occasion becomes very cluttered, and it is necessary to have a constant turnover of topics.

Similarly, we reserve the right to lock any topic we choose

News

Occasionally, if there's something interesting happening that we think you should know about, a new post will appear in this topic. Feel free to comment (if you wish) but any irrelevant conversations WILL be deleted from this topic.

Other Reviews Lounge stuff

• Fictionpress is home to a Reviews Lounge forum too!

• We also have a livejournal community, thanks to Wit!

• Wit has also created a Photobucket account which is home to some of her icons. If you have made something you would like to share with us, just ask Wit, or anyone else who knows the password to the account, and they will put it up there for you, giving you full credit of course.

General Forum Ettiquette

We are very proud to say that the overall conduct on this forum has this far been exemplary. This administrator has not once received a complaint regarding conduct in this forum! While we congratulate you all for your good behaviour, we figure there will be no harm in pointing out the obvious, that being:

Abuse of other forum members is unacceptable. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. You have no right to pass personal comments on other people unless you are invited to, and any debates that descend into personal slinging matches will be deleted. if this becomes a consistent occurrence, we do have the means to kick you out of the forum. You have been warned.

• Whilst the offensive language filter is on, this does not mean that you are invited to lose your manners. Offensive posts will be deleted. Play nicely!

• We encourage you all to partake in the correct use of the English language on this forum - spelling, grammar, etc. So don't be lazy, please!

Sometimes, we create topics that function for a single purpose only. For example, Introduce Yourself, which as the name suggests, is an introductory topic. If you want to discuss something, do it elsewhere. Anyone who persists in disregarding this rule will find their inappropriate posts deleted.

A final note

As of October 21st, the Reviews Lounge turned six months old. The growth of this tiny idea has been so phenomenal, and we'd like to thank each and every one of you for joining us and helping us to expand and improve. Your contributions are deeply appreciated!

Thank you,

Lexie, PA and Cuba

A General Note on Involvement

Occasionally, someone comes up with a wonderful new idea or innovative way to broaden our Reviews Lounge audience. Thanks for your suggestions, and really, we love that you care enough to get involved!!

That said, if you do have an idea which involves taking the Reviews Lounge concept to a new breadth, height or depth (read, new place on the internet) PLEASE ASK US FIRST. 99% of the time, the answer will be yes, but we would appreciate it if you could find the time to extend us this simple courtesy. The staff work very hard to keep this concept as tight and efficient and effective as possible, and as a testament to our hard work, we would like the RL to reflect our efforts completely.

Thank you!

Regarding the Archive

It's not uncommon to receive PM and other requests, asking us to archive a story. In fact, it happens so often that we now have a general procedure.

It isn't rocket science.

If you'd like your story/if you think someone elses' story deserves to be included, post the details (story name, author, link - characters/summary if you like) on the Recommend and Request topic.

If you contact us in any alternative way, this is what we'll tell you.

Why?

Because there is to some extent a quality control on the archive. It isn't particularly strenuous, but it is useful to have the details of all the stories in one, single place so that they can all be (for lack of a better word) assessed equally.

Also, posting your information on that topic might just attract you a little attention in itself. It isn't uncommon for our members to scan those links and read something that takes their fancy!

Third great reason: by posting the details up in the open topic, you're three times as likely to have a mod look at it sooner! (This is because then, all three of us have access to it, and not just one).

If anyone has questions, ideas or general feedback about the Reviews Lounge, please feel free to pose them here!

(Random conversations will be deleted)

The Reviewer's Choice Awards

Do not fear: in light of the success of the inaugural Reviewer's Choice Awards, we are delighted to confirm that it will return next year.

When, you ask?

Well, it just so happened that the shortlist for nominations was opened on Sept 1 2007, and voting closed on October 31st 2007. Because these dates are so wonderfully easy to remember, there's every likeliness we'll be sticking with them.

The old topics are now being deleted, because they've been inactive for so long, but never fear: a list of the award winners (and links) may be found on the Reviews Lounge profile!

Early in 2008, I plan to open a new topic for preliminary nominations - because this will mean you can nominate while you read, instead of considering things in retrospect. More info on that later!

A Beta Exchange

Willow (you might remember her) and I were having a discussion about the difficulty in finding a beta a while back, and as a result she's made a new forum, which you can find here:

http://www.fanfiction.net/forum/Beta_Exchange/40789/

We're just trying to get it off the ground at the moment (meaning mostly her, but I chipped in a topic starter) and it'd be great if you could find the time to wander over and say hi!

You don't have to offer your services or anything. In fact, right now, I'm wondering if anyone has had any beta-ing disasters.... ?

Anyway, that would be a huge help, and I know that Willow would be extremely grateful, so just follow the link, if you please!!

Yesterday (Jan 28, 2008), we got a whole bunch of people on Skype to chat; Skype is an instant messaging and voice-over-internet program that is freely available for Mac, Windows, and Linux at www.skype.com.

We were chatting in Randomnesses yesterday and decided it could be wise to use Skype rather than flood Randomnesses. Yesterday we managed to get Anarchychik7734, Crazysheep, The Awkward Turtle, Morwen Elda, and ToManyLetters online to try it out - it worked really well and we'd like to get more people online.

Again, you can download Skype for free at www.skype.com.

Something to think about

We're a forum that prides itself on being all inclusive. That said, if you want to participate, please do be aware that not everyone shares your views. Opinions are one thing, but imposing them on others is not on. Nor is pursuing conversations that cause others certain levels of discomfort.

This is a general message, not targeted at anyone in particular. I just ask you all to take this into account!

Re: Tainted's Forum

(thanks for your PM, TML)....

So far as I can see it, the big question is: Who cares?

Apparently, these people:

Reviews Lounge, we are here to shake things up a little. Please, feel free to discuss amongst your own "in crowd" whether you want to be polite and courteous or whether you want to start a "forum war." We're a flexible bunch; we'll go with either. We generate an average of eight thousand posts a month, counting the depressing first two months, and we are more than capable of trouncing you.

As charming as the thinly veiled (and strangely out of place) threat sounds, they're more than welcome to "shake things up". It's irrelevant to the point of this forum - and hence, I can't see how our "response" needs to be put up for discussion. If I could find a word that best describes my reaction to this new forum, I think I'd choose "indifference."

As some of you may have noticed, I'm not particularly a numbers person, so I can't (for example) tell you how many posts we average a month. It's not the sort of thing I worry about, particularly. What I can say, is that they're very welcome to "float". I hope they enjoy their time with the Harry Potter crowd, and when they move on, there's every chance we'll still be here, since I'm not anticipating a change, and I'm the one holding the control over that.

Like they say, they're a general purpose, talk about anything forum, which is quite different to this place's purpose. There's plenty of room for the both of us.

So, anyone who's dropped by from there: Welcome! Make yourselves comfy, join in the convos, or even (dare I say it?) have a look at the archive. After all, you are a Harry Potter forum, for now. May as well enjoy it while it lasts =)

To our regulars: Having said all that, if anyone objects terribly to my "stance" (or lack thereof) on this matter, feel free to say something. We don't really have an "in crowd" here, and everyone's input is welcome. I'm just dubious as to whether there'll be any (response, that is).

I have a really stupid question. What does AU and cannon mean? Just wondering.
#11 Mar 09th 2008, 1:17pm
ToManyLetters
AU = Alternate Universe - stories that differ from the books.

SU = Sober Universe - stories that stick to the books, but not necessarily to interviews or extra material.

Canon (1 n) = stories that stick to the books and interviews and extra information.

#12 Mar 09th 2008, 1:26pm
respitechristopher
"Canon" is a literary term that is much older than the Harry Potter series. It refers to any body of literature, and is used to distinguish the body of literature from works written about it or in the same manner. The Sherlock Holmes series of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle is another example of a "canon". "Canon" can also refer to any group of literary works considered to be of prime importance, for instance, the works of Chaucer, Shakespeare, Hardy, Austen, the Brontës, and a few others could be called "The English Canon" (English referring to nationality, rather than language).

Hope that clears things up. Also check out mw.com's definition of the word. Definition #3 is the one in use here. By the way, I love your avatar!

Regarding A New Forum Mod

Taking on a new moderator is not a new suggestion - and in fact, it's a discussion between members of our staff that pre-dates any of your comments. Needless to say, the possibility of a new member of staff is NOT something we're taking lightly.

After all, we have concerns that extend beyond day-to-day forum input. While I use the term "working" lightly, the staff and I put a lot of time and effort into the Reviews Lounge (forum, community archive, profile, projects, email, recommendations, etc - not to mention the occasional monitoring of our off-shoots), and we want to make sure that anyone we take on is equally as prepared for these responsibilities - above and beyond simply being present at the forum.

We welcome your input, in regards to candidates and the like, but please respect that at the end of the day, the decision to take someone on, and who that someone is, rests with US.

Thanks,

Lexie

Okay, so here goes my attempt at explaining what 'going on a mission' means. No, I am by no means a secret agent - I'm just not that cool.

It is common for worthy, willing male members at age 19 to serve a two-year mission for the The Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints. (Worthy, willing females at age 21 are also offered the chance, though it is less common for them to go.)

As Bad Mum pointed out, I am going to San Diego, California here in the United States for my two years. I will enter the Missionary Training Centre in Provo, Utah on May 7 of this year and should be there for approximately six to eight weeks for linguistic and spiritual preparation. During those two years, I will proselyte. I will also be doing other things such as visiting members (Actually, this is really funny. Missionaries tend to visit members to get food and then share a quick spiritual message afterwards. 'Tis a wonderful thing, food.) I'll be helping new members find their way in the Gospel and all sorts of Church-related things including, but not limited to, blessing of the sick, providing humanitarian service, etc.

Overall, a mission is a very wonderful thing. I'll be, even though I'll be in the States, serving a foreign-language mission. (Spanish speaking). Missionaries are very commonly blessed with prompt fluency in the language they serve in and this especially helps on job applications. (Cheer!) Also, missions are excellent for maturing people. For many, it is the first time they will truly live away from home for an extended period of time and missions will help them learn to live on their own (without familial support) and with others.

I've had several return missionaries state that their marriages later in life were extremely helped by the experience they had and things they learnt on their missions - (learning to live with others who are not blood relatives, for example) and learning that people, though they may share the same general religious principles as you, were likely raised very differently. (I really can't wait to learn many of these things, as my girlfriend, who is from San Diego originally, is thrilled that I'll be going there. I intend to marry her when I return. If she'll have me, of course.)

As for my 'absence'. I've not been absent so much as semi-lurking, semi-busy. I recently was inducted into the Harry Potter's Page news posting staff at http://www.harrypotterspage.com and that has tied me up a little; the mission preparations have as well, of course. The Bible, Book of Mormon, Pearl of Great Price, and Doctrine and Covenants are not quick reads. Not to mention, the missionary aid manual, Preach My Gospel, is not exactly a quick read either. As I've read and continued to study the scriptures, I've learned much more than I think I could have before. Harry Potter, as it were, I think has helped me be this way. As 'Mr. Information' as Cassandra's Cross so lovingly puts it, I have this need to understand every last detail, from who did what to what happened when and the the stories in the books are fascinating ones. (There is actually a story in the Book of Mormon related of a man named Captain Moroni that I would like to create a screenplay of and propose it for a film. {I'm also currently working on turning William Mark Simmons' 'In the Net of Dreams' into a screenplay.})

I actually was very active today at the Sober Universe forum. I posted two spoof articles there, then converted them into more a more real-looking CNN article which I managed to fool two of my siblings with. (They were not impressed with Rowling when they got done reading, lol. My youngest sister looked ready to explode until I told her that it was all an April Fools' Day joke.)

I'm not gone here, I never will be truly gone. Even if I somehow fail to return to the wonder that is the Reviews Lounge and Fanfiction.net, as G'Kar from Babylon 5 so eloquently puts it, "I believe that when we leave a place, part of it goes with us and part of us remains. Go anywhere... when it is quiet, and just listen. After a while, you will hear the echoes of all our conversations, every thought and word we’ve exchanged. Long after we are gone, our voices will linger in these walls for as long as this place remains. But I will admit that the part of me that is going will very much miss the part of you that is staying."

Internet Safety!

This is copied from Randomnesses III in case it gets missed:

Hey guys - please remember don't give out so much in the way of details on the internet.

We know that the people we talk to can be trusted, but there are lurkers. Do not give out information that could locate you specifically - internet saftey is a must!

There is no joking about it. Safety first, details later... if you want to exchange details like full name/ age/ location - do it in a PM so everyone else CAN'T see it.

This is for your own safety.

Take it on board in the interests of your own well being.

Coming up at the RL....

There's been two awesome suggestions in Spreading the Reviews Love that I can't wait to get under way.... but I'm going to need your help.

1. The Summer Reading List - so called, as it was suggested by Kristy, even though half of us are actually in Winter right now =P

I want you all to go to your 'Favourites' list and choose some Must Read pieces of fanfiction to add to the list. I'll open a new topic, but start thinking about that now.... (If a lot of people put forward stories, we'll probably have to limit one story per person.... but *shrugs* to kick off, I'd say suggest the absolute best-of-the-best). As usual, we'll encourage everyone to read and review! But, and there's an important distinction here - they don't have to be under-reviewed to make the list. This is more about sharing the enjoyment of a story =)

2. The Book Club - a hybrid between Kristy and Dejsha.

This is probably going to replace the Story of the Week topic (although I'll think of a better name - any suggestions?) Every week, we nominate a must-read from the archive and have a chat about it (book club style). Provided the chat is generally pleasant, I'm toying with the idea that we'll also invite the author in to discuss their own story!

So, hopefully everyone wants to get involved!!

And, on another note, I want to take this opportunity to wish TML good luck before he leaves us. Thanks for all your contributions and help! We'll miss you lots!!

A Notice (for once)

The archive has sort of been shifted to my responsibility while Cuba takes care of the challenges etc (we're delegating, now) and as such, just a general apology that encompasses probably the last month and extends for the next two weeks: I'm coming into my exam period and don't have the time to read anything at the moment, so sorry if it's taking a little longer than usual to sort through the recommendation and requests list!! I'll try and get up to date as soon as the exams are over (I believe I also owe my readers a few new chapters....)

#28 Jun 07th 2008, 9:23pm

The Changes They Are Coming....

So, you might notice a few different things starting to happen in the next few weeks. First off, Cuba and I are undertaking a massive spring clean of the forum - old topics are going and new ones will be introduced. The polls are gone, and should (hopefully) appear on our profile instead.

We've had a massive reduction in post counts, and as such we shouldn't expect to keep the top position for much longer, but you know what? That's completely irrelevant. Certainly our Introduce Yourself topic might have a little less traffic but ultimately it's not going to affect the way our forum runs, or our regular contributors!

Shortly, we're going to introduce a poll (or popularity contest, if you like) regarding the games. In short, there's a LOT of them and many are almost identical. You'll be asked to vote for the two you want to keep, and the rest will be removed. (Review Tag I exclude from this, since it's actively productive in reviewing which is the entire point of this place). Facing imminent eviction (Big Brother style) are:

1. GAME: Cliff, Shag, Marry

2. GAME: Harry Potter Silly Answers

3. GAME: A Baker's Dozen

4. Character Truth Game

5. Peeves' Game

Also on the out, I'll be asking your opinion on whether we should keep Story Of The Week, Meet the Gang and Beta Central, because they're not really functional topics. Has anyone actually FOUND a beta through that thread, for example? It's sort of been made redundant in light of the Beta Reader options on the main site, now. Meet the Gang has descended into another Randomnesses (and remember we also have the Sort of Secrets topic) so it's sort of obsolete. As for Story of the Week.... don't even get me started =P

I'm looking to condense the Challenges topics - currently, I believe there are three when we really don't need so many. I'm thinking perhaps the "Official" challenges thread can be cut, and we could just post those in the other topics but label them official? Anyway, that's a work in progress - feel free to contribute to this discussion!

On the in, Cuba's keen to introduce her new baby, which will be specifically a debate topic (I'll leave that to her to explain). Also, we look forward to introducing a Book Club style topic, where we open up discussions about a particular story specified in the thread, every month. We'll also try and get the author in to have their own say (so play nicely, kids!) There's also been a request for a new Round Robin (any suggestions, guys?) and I'd personally like to see another Project up and running in the next few months!

If you'd like to offer any opinions or contribute some more (welcome) suggestions, I encourage you to visit the Spreading the Review Love topic and share your thoughts!

Thanks,

Lexie

Two things

1. (I'm back from hiatus)

2. Much more importantly, a VERY belated Happy Birthday to Cuba for Monday (I didn't forget!!). Hope you had a wonderful day, sweety =)

Thanks Lexie.... I had a wonderful day, not least of which was because of all the love from people here.

This is my final say on the matter. You can like it or you can not, your choice, but I'm not being swayed on this one.

Having fun is one thing. Go ahead, go nuts; spam Randomness all you want. I don't have a problem with that. I do have a problem when we receive complaints from other forums because they feel they've been undermined by our 'fun'. Please think before you post, because the last thing any of us want is this forum getting a reputation for being unpleasant to deal with. I spent my afternoon apologising for a misunderstanding that shouldn't have happened, not to mention that it was an incident that I wasn't involved in. This isn't about me being a spoilsport - it's about looking after the Reviews Lounge and the people who post here, as well as anyone else who might care to stop by and for that matter, any other forum on this site.

Please don't make me be the bad guy.

Think before you post

I'm really sorry, Lexie. I feel awful that you had to do that for us.

Hey Reviews Lounge people, I'm Jack, I'm the Lexie over at the Twin Exchange.

To start, I just want to ask that this is the last time The Incident ever be mentioned again. Like Lexie, I came in after it had happened. I won't apologise for my girls' reaction to the comments made by some of your posters because, quite frankly, I agree with them. However, I do apologise that it all got blown out of proportion. I do think that the comments were not made in jest and that they were honest opinions. That's fine, that's good, just own them. When you backtrack and say, 'I'm bored, it was a joke,' it doesn't make us seem like we overreacted, it makes you seem juvenile.

Just like you have a right to say it though, we have the right to be upset by it. When you say we don't deserve to be #1 (not that anyone really cares) it demeans our discussions, our time spent on the forum and our friendships. We are no different then you, we're just in a different forum. Hell, if we all say down together, we'd probably get along great.

That being said, you have your forum, we have ours. We understand that not everyone agrees with what was said, a lot of people are confused, and everyone just wants to put it behind us.

I hope that you continue to visit us, not as a recon mission but to actually come and say hello.

Also on a bit of a tangent, if your admin wants to delete topics, get over it, thats their right. Real life isn't recorded and stored away for you to watch when you feel like it, just think of old posts as memories. lol, I'm tired and sick so I might not be making sense.

Jack

P.S. Some of the comments in this post are directed to only a few individuals, please don't be offended as a whole.

And for reference, I asked Jack to post this here because I don't want it to get lost. Having said that, this is the end of that little episode, and let's never speak of it again. If you do, I'll be enforcing my modly right to edit your posts. Thanks for your cooperation.

I want to say something. I am incapable of not. So feel free to delete it Lexie.

But I am sorry I feel awful that it escalated to that. I'm sorry I got defensive yesterday, but you try having everyone ** at you and stay calm. And I got defensive. I should have apologized earlier. It was wrong, I don't understand why it got to that. It was just our regular spamming session. I hope my apology is enough. It was honestly just innocent fun, not meant to hurt you or us or anyone. I'm sorry if I ever said something against the TE forum or the RL for that matter. As both forums are awesome and deserve respect. So yeah, I don't feel better now and this will probably get deleted anyway so yeah. But I really am sorry and if we ever do mad spamming again, I swear the TE will in no way be brought into it.

Ok, I'm good. Well not really. But in the sense I'm good that I finished wasting 20 minutes of my life on a deletable post. xD But yeah. Sorry again.

*sigh* no, I'll keep it... this deserves a place just as much, since you went to the trouble of writing it. (thank you)

And now that's it. FINISHED. I never want this spoken of again, all right?

Good. Now let's move on with our lives =)

Before I forget, I'm leaving tomorrow morning to spend the week with my best friend. Miss you all, and I'll be back next Friday or Saturday. Have fun, fill up Randomnesses, and make sure you all behave for the Head Cheese... *pointedly isn't looking at anyone in particular*

Love you all, xx.

A Notice (for a change)

I'm giving Charli moderator powers for ONE WEEK. This is simply because Cuba is away, and I won't be around much. Charli is on holidays and has the time. I'm doing this particularly because the Randomness topic has been a little volatile of late, and Charli is one of the people who frequent it the most. This is not necessarily a reflection on my choices for more forum mods in general (because Charli is Australian and anyone given these powers on a permanent basis will be in a different time zone to us). On Sunday, I'll remove her from the lists again, and everything will be back to normal. This is a chance for her to prove herself, so please support her!

1. I'm back, and it's lovely to see you all again.

2. A (belated) congratulations to Charli for proving how responsible she can be, no matter how temporary her position is.

A Note

By general consensus from a group of my most trusted friends, something is not right in the state of Denmark, so to speak.

You'll be noticing a few changes today, as a result of what is currently an ongoing discussion. First off,

We are a Harry Potter forum.

If you want to discuss anime, I'd like to direct you to the anime section of this site, because that's probably a more appropriate place to do it. (Can anyone tell me what happened to the Reviews Basket, since I wanted to direct there, but it's gone?) Similarly, if you'd like to discuss Twilight, I can only highly recommend the forum Twilight: An Obsession

Secondly, the posts count will be dropping, particularly from this thread as I go through and delete anything that doesn't constitute a Notice.

Thirdly, a poll will be appearing, asking you to select the three most popular games on this forum. The other two will be culled.

Fourthly, a second poll will appear, requesting your opinion on whether we should keep certain other topics. Majority wins.

Fifthly, I'd like to remind you all that the Reviews Lounge Community Archive exists, and is in desperate need of some love. You can find that here. I'm also interested in perhaps picking out a few more staff for the archive, to help me get through the insane amount of traffic we get in the Recommend and Request thread. If you'd like to help, I'm requesting volunteers who've been here for over four months. Let me know on this thread!

Thanks for your co-operation

Lexie

And I'm interested in being an archiver. *Jumps and squeals with hand up*

But my suggestion being. Leave the games with the biggest post count.

And don't delete sort of secrets and meet the gang. xD

I'll wait til Cuba gets on this afternoon and we'll have a look at who's volunteered their services *nods* so thank you for that too!! =D
