"Why do you still keep them covered like that?" she asked him, but it wasn't his ears that she wanted to see so much as his unobscured face.

#14 - Sex

He waits for one of those moments when Silmeria is conscious in order to call upon her wisdom without embarassing himself in front of the girl that he loves, and he asks, "so uh... how is it done, exactly?"

The first time she sees him badly cut she faints, luckily Silmeria is there to keep her standing; but the sight of his hand clamped over that rapidly spreading patch of blood on the vivid green mades her feel... funny.

His fingers are rough, calloused even; they make a neat line where he pulls back the bow and scratch her skin when he drags them across it - but somehow, the way he does it, the feeling couldn't be softer.

#17 - Tears

He hates seeing her cry (although she does it enough) he really, really hates it: when she cries, he wants to personally take the cause of her unhappiness and very slowly wring its neck in his cursed hands.

#20 He thought freedom was simply being out of the prison, the cage, not being confined anymore - but it only took one look at her staring up at the stars like she'd never seen them before, and one moment of weaknes when she wanted to feel loved and he just wanted to feel, that he realized he'd got it completely wrong.

#49 - Hair

Often times he would turn and catch her staring, and would never know that it was because she loved the emerald luster of his hair which was so brilliant on days when they walked together in the sunlight.

Wow, that came out awkward.

#34 - Lightning/Thunder

She envied that arrow which he held in with his rough fingers with such dexterous care and sent flying from his bow consumed in a bolt wrought of the sparkling essence of his life's energy.

#24 - Taste

"If Rufus had a flavor, it would have to be lime, wouldn't it?" Alicia asked the omnipresent voice of Silmeria idly out of boredom, to which the goddess sighed in dismay and replied, maybe watermelon.

#33 - Fear is being taken your family without knowing why, fear is leaving the only place you knew because the gods are trying to kill you, fear is thinking that one day she might wake up and Silmeria wouldn't be there... fear, is seeing Rufus fall and worrying he might never get up again.

#40 - She is innocent, so, so, so innocent and she doesn't realize how far they've fallen; but he can't stop, not with her here so innocent and young and exposed underneath him: he doesn't want to hurt her: but he knows he will - be it now in his lust or when this whole dammned tradegy ends.

(What did you expect? Oh and this now asks to be written M-style, watch this space :P)

#12 - Sensual

Alicia--righteous light warrior, noble princess, and guardian of the dragon orb--had long labored to maintain the beautiful and pristine condition of the sacred vessel of the Goddess Silmeria; and it was about time that Rufus gave it his due worship.

That is like a prompt for the best thing ever ;P

Maybe it should have been "...it was about time that Rufus worshipped it properly." But I dunno, that sounds less... something.

#09 - Telephone

Through one window of the Seraphic Gate's countless realities, they see Alicia in a strange blue and white uniform, sitting upon a bed by an even stranger device, waiting and occasionally reaching her arm out to grab it, then sheepishly giving up with a dreamy sigh until her older sister (obviously Silmeria) picks it up and dials a number for her in annoyance.

#11 - Name

"I don't know why I've always liked the name Rufus," she said to the tall stranger, "it sounds like something you might name a pet, doesn't it?"

#13 - Death

As it turns out, the coldness of death is highly overrated and this is the warmest place he has ever been.

#15 - Touch

Though the prospect of death was inviting to them both, she did not want to die without knowing his touch.

#16 - Weakness

She had always considered herself weak and frail, but when he removed his ring from his own finger in a fit, she knew that he was equally weak, and that they required each other in order for either to be truly strong just as she required Silmeria.

#20 - Freedom

"If we could be free, what I would want, is..." he repeated her question slowly in thought, "to guard the dragon orb together, just the two of us, how about it?"

#28 - Sickness

Alicia could only find a vaporous salve to alleviate the terrible sickness her half-elf companion had contracted; but applying it to his bare skin only caused him to cough and sputter, and raised his temperature even higher.

#29 - Melody

Rufus suppressed his laughter when Alicia began to hum to herself along the road (presumably to fill the empty space now in her head) because she sounded incredibly awful, but he wouldn't have her stop for anything.

OKAY, I THINK I DID ENOUGH OF THEM, EH?

#32 - Confusion

She did not know what it was she wanted, but she knew that she wanted it badly.

He wasn't sure if it was the ecstacy of death or if her love was really just that sweet; but as he gathered the last of his strength and kissed her for both the first and last time, his pain faded away and everything for a woefully fleeting moment was perfect.
