Topic: No-Strings-Attached Duel Arena Season 1
This is where people can duel each other JUST for fun, with it not having anything to do with the tournament. I'll duel whoever shows up first, if they would like to.

Any chain?

LostInHyrule
((Okay, you got that a little bit wrong. Your deck started with 40 cards, which means you start the game with 5 cards in your hand and 35 cards in your deck. Also, at the end of your turn, you have 4 cards in your hand, not 5, because you played your Giant Trunade. Is that the end of your turn?))

((Then what about chaining? You said yourself give the person to react.))

Play Giant Orc (2200ATK/0DEF) in Attack mode and destroys Luster Dragon #1. Opponent loses 300 life points due to attack. Giant Orc is switched to defense due to Giant Orc's effect. Place two cards face down. Turn end.

I'm activating "Dust Tornado" to negate your Trap Hole.

Effect of Dust Tornado: Destroy one spell or trap card on your opponent's side of the field.

Effect is not negated

#21 May 15th 2007, 2:10pm
LostInHyrule
Actually, it's a SPD 2 Trap Card, giving it a higher Chain-Speed Rating than Trap Hole. That means that Dust Tornado activates first. ^_^
#22 May 15th 2007, 2:12pm
chibifurby
Dust Tornado and Trap hole are both the same spell speed.
#23 May 15th 2007, 2:14pm
LostInHyrule
Can I explain to you how Chains work in Real Life? You have to play a card of equal or greater speed than your opponent, and you put it ON TOP OF THAT CARD. Than, if you get an equal or higher speed card, you put it ON TOP OF Dust Tornado. At the end of the chain, they activate FROM THE TOP DOWN. That means that, say, you played MST over my Dust Tornado, your MST would activate first, than Dust Tornado, than Trap Hole. Dust Tornado has the same speed as Trap Hole, meaning it would go on top in the pile. If they activate in reverse order(Like they do) that means that Dust Tornado activates first.

Might be a little hard to understand at first, but you'll get the knack of it.

#24 May 15th 2007, 2:17pm
chibifurby
Then there will be no point in traps like Seven Tools of the bandit.
#25 May 15th 2007, 2:19pm
LostInHyrule
Yes there would, as 7 Tools of a Bandit would go at the top of the pile. Unless it was to be activated against a higher speed card, in which case it couldn't be activated. The only reason for the cards Magic Jammer and 7 Tools of a Bandit is to fill the decks of people who DON'T HAVE Mystical Space Tyfoon or Dust Tornado.

So Trap Hole is destroyed, UNLESS you have a Mystical Space Tyfoon, Dust Tornado, or 7 Tools of a Bandit Face-Down?

#26 May 15th 2007, 2:21pm
chibifurby
It's not the spell speed I'm worried about, it's the fact of it specifically saying negate the activation of a trap...But as you wish...I won't argue anymore. Vorse Raider survives.

Actually, you're at 6200 lifepoints because you discarded Kuriboh. Might wanna fix that. I play my "Nobleman of Crossout" from my Hand to destroy your face-down card WITHOUT its effect activating. I also summon my Gemeni Elf(1900ATK). Harpies Brother, Gemeni Elf, and Vorse Raider are all attacking your lifepoints directly. That leaves you with...500 LP. Sorry I had to split there for a bit. Anyway, I'll activate my Harpies Feather Duster to destroy your face-down card, my Vorse Raider will attack your creature, causing them BOTH to die, and my Harpies Brother will finish you off.

Good game! It pays to have a beat-down deck. Just load it up with powerful no-offering creatures and magic-negation, and you've got yourself a nearly unbeatable deck.
