Sign ups will begin now until Saturday, November 7th, 2009. I know, one week. That's because I want to have all the names down so that I can match people. I might extend the sign up deadline if I don't have enough people, but please don't count on it, kay?

If you scroll down, you'll find the form you will have to fill out to participate in the event. DO NOT post your form here. Instead, e-mail or PM it to me (if you PM me your e-mail, I would like it in this format: username[at]hotmail/yahoo/aol/etc[dot]com). If you don’t have my e-mail, PM me the form, and I shall send out my e-mail to all of you for confirmation once sign up is closed. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU REPLY TO THE CONFIRMATION EMAIL. If you post here, you will be ignored. Please read and fill in carefully as what you put down determines what you will write and what you will receive.

So this is how everything will go:

Everyone will sign up using the form; I shall put all of you on a random list after sign up week and then ask you to choose a random number. The person you choose will be most likely who you will be writing for. Most likely because I’m going to try my best to look at your preferences.

EVERYTHING WILL REMAIN ANONYMOUS. Everyone won’t know who is in on this or not, they won’t know whose request is whose, they won’t know who is writing what. Only the people running the event will know.

If you are going to participate, you must be willing to write a fic as well. Things happen, I’ll understand if something bad is going on, but please. Be responsible— if you’re joining, then you have to do it all. How would you feel if you made a request and the person in charge of your request didn’t write it while everyone else gets a nice fic for the holidays? So please don’t do this to everyone. If you’re going to be late, just tell me, and I’ll do what I can.

NEW: I would like to ask for volunteers who would be willing to fill in for authors who have either 1) given up or 2) have not responded to any of my messages and therefore cannot confirm their status.

Please note that if you do not reply to my messages, I will assume that you are inactive and therefore may not be done with your fic.

Once you have received your assignment, you may start. You have until December 29th to complete the fic. On December 30th and January 1st, everyone will post it up to reveal their identities. Once you finish the fic, e-mail me so I can check you off my list. If you finish ahead of time, e-mail me to check you off and hold the fic until it is time to post as the revealing will be on New Year's Eve and New Year.

Some rules for fic writing:

+ Follow your request as much as possible

+ Fic must be at least 1000 words in length.

+ Fic must be beta-ed

As for the beta-ing, you have two options:

1. As you do not know who is part of the event or not, you may only have someone outside of the forum beta it.

2. OR, I will have a list of available betas later on, whom you can send the fic to have it looked over and etc. Hopefully, this will be more convenient.

***Please don't ask someone not on the list who is part of this forum to beta, UNLESS you have talked to me about it.

As for those who do not wish to write, but want to participate (or if you want to do both this and that), you can do this:

We all brainstorm a list of word prompts; I’ll post them up once we have it. Then, anyone can come and pick a word to work on. You are to take the word, connect it to the upcoming holidays, and incorporate it into something creative. Photos, art, fanart, slideshows, videos, buttons, graphics, crafts. You can even write if you want, so this is pretty much open ended with how you want to present your word with holidays. Upload it online somehow, and we’ll link them on the forum and website.

That’s it! I know this seems overwhelming, but it really isn’t. I just want to make everything clear, and you can tell I’m babbling. XD If you have any questions, post here. It’s fine because people don’t know if you’re really participating or not. XD

Sorry, I was supposed to e-mail you all during the halfway mark, but then I got really caught up with school.This e-mail is to check up on you and how you are doing with your fic. It is also a notification that you have about 12 days left before fics NEED TO BE DONE AND BETA'ed (December 30, 2009). Please do reply to this e-mail to tell me how everything is going. I need to know what's going on because if for some reason, someone doesn't write, then it wouldn't be fair to the receiver.

As a friendly reminder to everyone please make sure that your fic:

+ Is at least 1000 words in length
