Should I even post here?! I mean, I died for like a month.

But PoT 'cuz I wanted to watch MAR on TV, but then I saw PoT and I'm like, "OMG, I LIKE THIS SHOW!" so like, a week later I decide to watch it on youtube and I was like, "OMG, I SHOULD WATCH ALL THE EPISODES" and so I did.

Ok...then I went here and I was like, "I should write a story" and started writing. Then I 'sploded and the end. XDDDD

Ignore the last sentence, please. Seriously, that's my story. My friend introduced me to MAR, and I ended up watching PoT. o.o

I went to animelyrics...and I saw Prince of Tennis and at first I was all like "Psh, Prince of Tennis? The guy who's the prince must be a egotistical brat."

Honestly, Echizen's a brat, but...Atobe was more what I was thinking of. Except I was thinking of some BLOND haired dude. XDDDD

I remember when my brother bought the manga from Kauai and I read the first three volumes. I wasn't insanely interested until maybe few months down the road when I picked up the forth volume and began reading. From there, it began to build slowly by slowly. Nowadays, I gotten most of the PoT anime from my birthday, and around that time, my two brothers and I began watching it and it took us several weeks to finish it.

And then I started watching the OVA and came across Shitenhouji, and fell in love with them. Before was Rikkaidai, but when I saw Shiraishi, his hand, and Kotarou, I really became interested. I'm following up on the manga, though I'm only at the Kantou tournament with Seigaku going against Rikkaidai.

Well for me it started in grade 7. Normal day: we all went to the library to return our books and get new ones. That year, for the first time, we had a manga section. So of course, I went to go check out what mangas there were. There I saw a manga with a cute bishie boy on it. Which led me to glance through it to decide whether I wanted to check it out. (Yes, that was my actual thought. "BISHIE BOY, I MUST READ IT!") It looked pretty intresting and I liked the drawing style. So I read the summary of it. It sounded like a pretty intresting book, so I decided I'd check it out. I went back to class and read it and I LOVED IT. Although the school library only had the second volume, so that night I pretty much begged my mom to take me to the public library so I could look for the first volume. Then eventually I started watching the anime on Youtube and my fangirlness just began to build from there. XD

My story's kind-of interesting, I think. I started watching because a friend kept pestering me to do so, standard enough. I started a few times and then stopped because Ryoma annoyed me too much. It was kinda hard to sympathesise with him, because of his attitude, you know?

And then one day, my sixteen-year old brother, number one player at his tennis club, was totally smashed in a straight set by a seventh grader. It was obvious this seventh grader had been taught by a pro. He even knew the twist serve, for crying out loud! And I thought my brother was a talented tennis player, but this kid - he was mind-blowing! I should have gotten his autograph or something.

I watched the first episode of PoT again and from then on, I really liked Ryoma. I realised he was an interesting character because he is so different from your average sports hero protagonist. Even though he loses his underdog appeal, I couldn't help but cheer him on, because in Ryoma Echizen, I saw that seventh grader who was going to be a star pro of tennis.

My story is that when I was 15 and it was the summer so i was at my sistershouse(not blood related or step) and her sisters friend had bought the live action movie so we all sat down(okay it was my sister's sister's friend my sister's sister, my sister, and me thats complacated). We randomly started screaming GLASSES when we saw Tezuka and Inui. We kinda wan't to kick Atobe's face in but now we all love him. My sister foudn the musicals and then we all started to watch/read the anime. We went from Hyotei to Rakkai to Higa. I note that we are still their fans but we opened up our options for guys.

Around the time ezyl and I were still in the Guardians of Ga'Hoole fandom, she mentioned that she had started watching Prince of Tennis. I started watching too and...well, I got addicted xD I watched the first episode in June or something, and that time YouTube refused to function properly on my computer. I only got to watch the first. All of a sudden YouTube started working one day and I took advantage of it; I spent the whole summer watching it and finished by the time of my birthday (or something).

I started watching the OVAs right after -is hopeless, I am- By then I was addicted to the music, then started on Tenimyu, blahblahblah. Strangely enough, I liked the exaggerated tennis and all the characters, even though Hyoutei, Atobe especially, was overbearing at first. Of course, I don't like Baker or Kevin's dad :x

I'm a hopeless fan x)

I was sharing a suite with some girl I didn't know well and then I was flipping through the channels, looking for dumb kid stuff to watch.

And then I came across the show. I was playing tennis at that time, so it was cool for me to know that there's a show like that. I watched some more episodes the following days by staying it at the same time.

And then there was the crack. Loads of it.

Needless to say, when I got back home, I researched about it and watched all the episodes on Youtube. The dubs creeped me out, so I ended up watching the subs. Yes, I'm that picky.

(That was years ago, actually, and it took me so many years to make an account.)

Apr 25th 2009, 11:04am #125

My dad played tennis a lot. So my sister got it for him and we started watching it (dubbed). It was okay the first few episodes, it wasn't until I saw my sister watching it again during our time in California that I started to like it. A lot. I think it was the humor from the Inui's juice episode that got me.

I used to play tennis. After they discovered that I had scoliosis, they forced me to stop. It was horrible. D;

But then, I remembered that my cousin watched an anime about tennis, so I decided to watch it and ease the pain. Gawd, the pain.

I sticked to watching it because at first, I thought Ryoma was cute. xD

So I hated PoT when I read the first chapter initially. I thought Ryoma was a smug brat and Sakuno was an eyesore. XD

And then my friend told me to read it a few years later. Don't know what changed but then I read for like 6 days straight and finished the series from the dark of night into the early morn. My eyes burned. ^^

When I tried playing tennis, I kept thinking, "How do they make it look so freaking easy? Sakuno --I feel your paaain."

Ehh... for me? My first encounter with PoT was when I was listening to random AMVs in Youtube. I came across some of the character songs from PoT, and saw Fuji for the very first time. Now, I knew that PoT existed, but I wasn't really interested in it. My first thought when I saw Fuji was 'Oh, this guy must get paired up a lot with other characters...' and then forgot about it when I went back to looking for other videos to watch. Second time, I was browsing through the manga section in the library. Since I some of the volumes I was planning on checking out were still being borrowed, and I felt like reading a lot, I decided to look for new manga to read. That was when I came across PoT. I didn't like the art very much at first, but I was very curious why this manga was so popular that I checked outthe first three volumes . That night, I sat down and started reading it, but before I could even turn to the second page, I already didn't like it. You see, Sakuno was at the very first panel, and I thought 'Oh god, poor girl. She's gonna probably be hopelessly in love with the main character who will treat here like *** and be obsessed with whatever sport he's playing.' I pretty much skimmed through the volume before I gave up. Next day, I brought the manga to school, since my friend reads manga and I usually get her hooked on new series. Before I even got to let her read it, one of the guys that I knew read manga saw it and said it was "a gay manga." I was feeling even more reluctant to read it now. I finally find my friend and lend it to her, saying that it might not be good. Then we go to our classes, and I didn't see her again until lunch, where she came up to me and said that she loved it. I just stared at her weirdly and asked what was so good about it. She gave me back the first volume and told me to read it. Finally, I give PoT another chance and...I got hooked. I absolutely LOVED Echizen. The next morning, I went and told my friend that I liked it, and she smiled and said 'I told you so!' From then on, we got introduced to the anime, the drama, the movie, the live-action, and finally, the musical.

XD Now I'm here, and I'm still as obsessed as ever. PoT has kept my interest for a year now, something no manga or anime could ever accomplish until now. I don't think my obsession will wane anytime soon, not until Shin Tennis no oujisama is over and I've gotten bored with Tenimyu (which is kind of impossible at the moment).

OMG I played for a year in the 6th grade then after I started watching POT. I love the sport but I never have any more time to play it anymore.

I almost broke my ancle so its all weird when I try to play and my serve sucks but I love playing singles alothough they always put me on doubles -sticks out tounge-. I still loved it.

Are school colors are pretty damn close to Seigaku's colors so its always weird to play in that iniform

Mine will be like a journal probably =.="

====

On January 2009, my first sister forced me to watch it...and I fell in love with every Inui Juice episodes. And then I keep tracking the episodes, cracking myself.

At the end of January '09, my second sister introduced me to POT FF.Net section. Believe it or not? I read Ponta Pair!! At that time, I began to memorize all of the characters' name; like Tezuka is the Seigaku buchou, Fuji is the tensai with all smiling face, etc.

On Febuary, I read TezuFuji fanfic and immediately fell in love with POT Yaoi and totally became POT-Yaoi-Only Fan :) And then around the same month I watched the Final and Kimi wo Shinjiteru on YouTube, and became that Seigaku's Brat's loathers and Rikkai addicted XDXD And thus I became a POT addicted (buying the merchandise, read all of the series, write it, etc)

===

Come to think about it, I should thank my sisters XDXD

Let's see...

Basically, my friend was obsessing over PoT, and he kept on telling me how amazing it was. Eventually, I got curious when I went to my library and looked through the manga section. I was so amused by how the manga volumes of PoT were just sitting there, and how all of those obsession scenes flashed through my memory. Then I realized that I had to hurry because I had to leave the library soon, so I just randomly picked up a volume of it.

Stupid friend, I became shamefully addicted to it. And I tried to hide it from him the best I could, but I failed. Miserably.

I was bored, and was finding something good to watch. Then I saw Prince Of Tennis. I wasn't that interested at first. I was all, "Sure, why not? I think I saw this anime before, so might as well give it a shot." Well guess what? I'm now addicted to it~

Uhmm I got hooked on PoT when I was watching the anime. Pretty much loved Ryoma, Fuji and Tezuka right away. Although I still have something against Fuji and Tezuka being together, since it makes me feel sorry for Ryoma being left out XD Now a days my obsession stretches further than those three, although I do keep a special place for those three. Well anyway I must have gotten a lot of weird looks from my family as I was watching PoT due to my laughing out loud XD I think it took me about a week to finish the anime completely, the OVA wasn't out yet. I'm currently reading the Manga, since I thought it was about time to do it XD Although I want to buy all the volumes it's not that easy in the country I live in, I will though when I find them. And well PoT was like the first thing that got me on FF, that and Gundam Wing although I had seen and read that way before I ever got hooked on PoT. And due to the slashing possibilities in PoT I doubt I'll ever get enough of PoT, because PoT most definitely lacks female characters but in that is the best way to slash up the characters XD Also in the anime you can easily see the maturing of the characters, I mean in the drawing sense if that makes any sense. Else just keep a picture of Echizen from episode 1 next to episode 178, there is a obvious change. The same is to be said about the anime to the OVA. Not sure if this is due to them growing up or due to the Mangaka changing himself ^^

With me, I had just finished Junjou Romantica (god bless its yaoi heart), so i headed to Chatango ( the chatbox on a anime site).

I was chatting with a few other regulars when a girl popped in, heard i was a yaoi fan (due to a debate on weather Durarara was totally yaoi or not (WHICH IT IS!!!)), and said (and i qutoe because she's like my bestie now) "You haven't seen prince of tennis?! Omg you just must! It's like like...PARADISE! All the cute boys and couples...." which lead to a much longer rant leading to a fangasm (lol). And i wasn't convienced i mean...sure Whistle had been basically Yaoi but i wasn't sure is that was the case with any other sports manga/animes so she linked me to Jirou's Sweet C and just looking at him i started squealing and wanting to hug the life out of him!!

Which leads to my current life as a P.o.T fangirl/writer :)

Perfect timing for this, it's almost my one year TeniPuri-versary~

I can thank FFN for my love of POT, yep I can. It's because I got tired of seeing it in almost every search I did, so I broke down and did some intensive research on it. I was totally hooked because of Ryoma.

At least, until I saw TeniMyu. Now I'm totally hooked because of my lovely petenshi, Niou Masaharu~

Because of him, I now use (~) almost all the time. Him and his lovely puri~ did this to me...

I'm Kentastic! I shall tell you my tale.

The library closest to me is actually set up in genres. There's Girl's Read, Guy's Read, Manga, Mystery, etc.

As you may have guessed, checking out a book from the Girl's Read section is very embarrassing. Besides, the Guy's Read is better to me (even if I am a girl).

Why would I mention this?

Because the Guy's Read section is right next to the Manga. And while browsing, I saw a manga among the novels. Reaching to put it back, I notice it says, "The Prince Of Tennis."

I checked it out 'cause I wanted to know if this book could really be good with such a "dull" topic.

For some unknown reason, even though Sakuno annoyed me and Ryoma was a jerk, I got the second book.

Mar 10th, 3:49pm #142
reckless-rage

Oh goodness yes, when I was first introduced to Prince of Tennis by a friend, I thought, how on earth could tennis ever be interesting? Boy I was wrong. xD

(Sakuno annoys me too goshdarnit girl get a spine! Although I'm not one to talk haha.)

Mar 13th, 4:39am #143
Kentastic72

When I showed it to my friends, they thought it would be boring, too.

Now, we all have tabs on who wins the Seigaku game. :P

Eh, I got used to Sakuno. She disappears in the manga, is ok in the anime, but the best Sakuno is the live action drama. She's awesome, always helping Ryoma with problems and junk. She's easier to handle if you think that she's just super shy and doesn't have a crush on Ryoma.

... Oshitari Yuushi's valantine kiss..... =w=

Lol I'm serious! After listening to his Valentine kiss I was all 'Holeh crap I must watch this!' mostly just wanting to see that smexy man! XD

Of course after just watching the first episode I got completely sucked in, but still, I honestly think it's awesome that I became addicted to PoT just from Oshitari Yuushi's sexy voice! But of course I would I mean, who wouldn't? It's OSHITARI YUUSHI! Come on XDD

PoT forever! X3

tsukinoyume11

Oh dear, I forgot how I started watching PoT. It's been a long time ago. But I do remember I started watching the anime first and thought that Ryoma was too arrogant. Also, the final result was predictable since Seigaku always wins in the end.
