I look for a story well-written that is catchy from the first chapter, maybe two. And please, please don't make guys giggle. A girl, C. Shakespeare, told me about a Sailor Moon story that she stopped dead at "Mamoru giggled when his new girlfriend tickled him" Mamoru being the hero Tuxedo Mask (you should know... you really should) And the picture of him giggling is very disturbing. Very.

-A story written in second-person makes me run away as fast as you can say "CheeseWhiz"

-I don't read story when there's "Sorry suck at summaries" written in the summary. If you're not good writting summaries, than your story should be even worst.

-I don't like it when it's written "Read and Review" in the summary (or simply R&R) so I seldomly read and review it.

-I hate fics that are "untitled"

-Yup. They can just say what the story is about, or give a line from the first chapter... but no! Some actually give a small summary. But saying you're not good at it ruins the effect.

But about the Untitled thing, you can always narrow down your research... But stories without titles are no fun. You can't say "Hey, I read a story called Untitled..." and expect your friends to keep their interest to it -_-

I don't like Imperial 'cause... Their chemistry is not fun enough to work with. I had trouble doing a decent oneshot with them (a challenge by Awin) because I didn't know what made them work. *Sighs*

What I look for in the POT fandom...

I'm rather a het reader, and when I began with my FF account, I always read RyoSaku stories. I just read them and stared at them whether they were OOC or whatever or not...I never touched anything else. That is, until I discovered two RyoSakuFuji fics that were well-written. So then I found...FujiSaku. And yes, I am currently and still reading het fics.

But when I was really really bored that day, I found this forum and met awin-chan and Dudly-sama. So that came to knowing...Royal Love and all the others. I was never a fan of shounen-ai, and I thought it was weird for that to happen but...anyways, Dudly-sama and awin-chan brainwashed me, and I'm a fan of yaoi I guess. XD Except I don't read them as often as I do with het fics.

I filter only if i feel like i want a certain pair on a certain day. :D

I really look for OT5, Royal pair, and Thrill Pair. Sometimes though, if the summary catches my eye I'll read it as well.

I don't click on RyoSaku fics because the ones i've read scared me, I don't like Tezu/Fuji pair or Ryo/Momo pair either. I think i already mentioned I try to stay away from fics with OC's...mostly due to having bad experiences reading them. Jan 25th 2008, 6:01pm #35

At first, I used to filter for stories with Ryoma as one of the main characters, and had more than 1000 words, because I once chanced upon this fic that was short that I really didn't like (It was in another fandom, though) and thought that drabbles were all sucky.

But soon, I learned to love those short cracky oneshots. ^_^

And I also found out that not all fics with Ryoma as the main character are labeled properly or the author probably did not indicate who the main characters were. And other non-Ryoma pairings have also begun to take my interest.

If the summary is catchy or sounds promising, I read it. I also like stories that have 'crack' on their summaries. XD

In genres I tend to click on ones with humor/romance/general. Very seldom I would read angst/drama/suspense.

On the other hand, I will not click on a story that has a main character that I don't like, or if it's horror. Of course, I also try to avoid/backspace when a fic generally sucks. Mar 11th 2008, 4:30am #36

And I disagree about backspacing if the fic sucks. I'll drop a review and tell them why their fic totally sucks, and generally offer my opinion. Actually, I rarely read stories according to summary - just pairing. Because summaries can be very misleading...

Angst fics are sweet, but they tear out your heart... so.. yup. As a rule, there are so many fics written about Ryoma that a big chunk of them suck. Not that there aren't brilliant ones out there. There are. But Ryoma, as the main protagonist attracts more lousy writing. Unique pairings tend to attract unique authors, and thus, as a rule, better writing. Mar 11th 2008, 5:41am #37

I hardly read according to genre or age rating, I usually just read if the summary sounds interesting.

WAFF fics are good (since they make me happy! :D), but there aren't many around in the PoT fandom. I don't mind het/shonen-ai, but the story must have a plot. Even if the plot is all about romance. Even if it's just a drabble, too. i.e. smutfics are... x_x

Angst/humor/romance are all good :D

Me? I love pillar and thrill stories but I always base reading a story if the summary is good. But even if it's not thrill or pillar as long as the summary is good I read it. Also I prefer reading humor, romance, adventure and action. Angst and tragedy are two things that I can live without... I also like mystery a lot. Sadly though there aren't enough good PoT mystery fics...

EDIT: Forgot to add. I also don't like lemons.

Mystery is hard to write... So is suspense... I think. XD But I also like those...
